JT's Parts & Accessories Reviews (6)

Part ordered was not defective, but had been damaged by customer.  It is obvious my the markings and the damage that the customer tried to install it.  Part is no longer usable and cannot be resold.

We have done business with JTs Parts & Accessories twice now and had a bad experience both times. The first time, we ordered certain parts and they guaranteed us that they contained a certain brand of bearings that we were looking for, but when the part arrived, it did not have the bearing brand we were looking for. Our customer was in a rush for their vehicle and couldn't wait longer for us to be able to get parts with the correct brand bearings in it so we had to put them in and then later ended up having to replace the bearings in that customer's vehicle in less than a year because of the inferior bearings that JTs deceptively sold us.
The second time we dealt with JT's, we were trying to replace the differential gears in a Jeep for a customer. JTs said they had the correct gears available but then when they arrived, they were incorrect. We had to ship those back and pay the shipping to have the second set shipped to us, double the cost we paid to have the first set shipped to us (JTs should have covered the freight on the second set since it was their mistake.) A SECOND time, the gears would not fit the differentials. Before they would even allow the second set to be returned, JTs told us we had to call a man that has installed these Jeep gears for many years (we've done differential work for 25+ years without any problems like this). We called that man and he had no idea why JTs would ask us to call him because he isn't affiliated with them in any way...had no idea about anything having to do with this Jeep install...and has never installed gears in this particular differential...the man was also very upset for our wasting his time and that JTs was giving out his number in such a manner. He simply owned a Jeep customization shop but had no idea why we were told we must call him. Then, we called JT's back and they said they'd accept the return. They did, but we had to pay the freight to return the second set of incorrect gears AND they charged us a 15% restocking fee (which they were not upfront about) and they, in the end, did NOT have the parts we needed to do the differential repair like they claimed when we first called to ask. Our customer was renting a car during this entire process and lost a lot of money waiting on parts to get shipped back and forth and we lost a lot of money based on trusting that JTs was selling us the correct parts for the Jeep (losing money in labor for repeated installs, etc), in addition to the couple hundred dollars in restocking fees and freight that we had to pay in the process. JTs insists it is their policy to charge a restocking fee even when they send incorrect parts. They would say they've personally installed thousands of these Jeep differentials -- which is highly unlikely because this was a rare differential and they apparently didn't understand what we were working with -- so they weren't very knowledgeable and they weren't willing to make it right when they repeatedly made a mistake. We highly recommend avoiding dealing with JTs!!

Great service, fast shipping, and very good prices!!! I first ordered a set of used gears for my vehicle, and when they arrived there was some damage present. I sent an email with pictures of the damage, and 30 minutes later with no hesitation / no questions asked another set was on its way!!! Response time to emails was amazing - I've gotten a response in as little as 11 minutes!!! I just ordered more parts from them, with the same positive results. Highly recommended!!!

Review: I purchased a product from JT's on 06/20/2012 for $532.02 (invoice # [redacted]) and had it installed in my car on 10/10/12 for $2,800.00 in labor, I should mention that car was having other work done to it. That is the reason why so much time has elapsed between dealings with JT's. It wasn't until 03/28/13 the car was able to be driven, straight away there was an issue with the part I purchased from JT's. So I called JT's on 04/08/13 and spoke to [redacted], He informed me that he believed the problem was caused by the improper use of certain parts in the kit. So I purchased more parts for $167.97 (invoice # [redacted]) on 04/08/13 and had them installed, that cost me $800.0 in labor to have that done. It took a couple of weeks to have that accomplished, well the car gets test drove and low and be hold broken parts! So I call back on 04/24/13 and talk to [redacted] again. He eluded to that shop didn't have much experience with this type of install and that he is the "expert" when it comes to these parts. So his suggestion was to buy more parts from him! That cost me $241.00 (invoice #[redacted]), so here we go again. Another $800.00 in labor and broken parts! On 05/14/13 I call [redacted] back and he tells me the only thing he can do for me is for me to send all the parts to him and pay him to build them the "right way", so I do (I don't have any other option seeing how I asked for a refund for his parts that keep on failing and was denied)! $100.00 in freight and $496.84 (invoice #[redacted]) in parts and labor later to have that "expertly Built" by JT"s. So I get the part back from JT's and have it installed $800.00 in labor. Now at this point the hole drive train (engine and transmission) had been removed for restoration and car was not functioning and not fully road worthy until 01/10/14. So I drive to a car show on 01/11/14 and the problem is back just like before even after the experts rebuilt it! So at this point I have spent $2400.00 in labor to pull these defective parts in and out of the car and $1,437.83 in JT's parts, all of which have failed! I have spent a total of $3,837.00 and have gotten the worst customer service I have experienced to date of my 43 years of life!

Now here is the reason why I am filing a complaint, I called today 03/10/14 @ 12:30 pm and left a kind message for [redacted], reminding him of who I was and that the problem was back just like previous times(he was supposedly out to lunch). I called back again @ 3:30 PM and spoke to [redacted] (sales Manager) at JT's. [redacted] by his owe admission spoke to [redacted] (the owner of JT's) about my situation and informed me that [redacted] was now on vacation and wont be available for a week! How convenient I would say, wouldn't you? Well the conversation I had with [redacted] was not pleasant to say the least. I started out by bringing him up to speed about my plight but was cut off to be informed that he had already spoke to [redacted] and that there was nothing further they can help me with. [redacted] was making accusations in regards to driving skills and that to much time had elapsed since the first purchase of 06/20/12. I mentioned that fact that I have spent a great deal of money over that period time on their recommended replacement parts and still have the same problem. [redacted] didn't care, he sounded quit smug on the other side of the phone telling me that there is nothing further they can do (I guess they got tired of taking my money)! Well that's highway robbery! Keep in mind that car has been driven a total of 100 miles, if that since I first had JT's parts installed in 10/10/12. Then every time and I mean every time that they failed (which is within 10 miles of the car being driven), I called JT's and followed their recommendations to the "T" and the end result is "suck's to you". THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS!!!!! I don't see any difference between them and mugger!

I am a fourth generation Marine and was raised that the worst thing you could do was to be dishonorable, to ALWAYS try to do the right thing. We sometimes don't make the mark but there is honor in trying! The only comfort I have in this manner is that when I lay my head down on my pillow at night after a long day of work for the local utility that I have no regrets of for actions and that my kids would have no shame of who their father is. Can [redacted] and [redacted] say the same? I don't know, but most beliefs elude to a judgment day of sorts!

I don't know what you can do to help me but the very least you reading this will at least make me feel that somebody cares, because JT' surely doesn't! I have all the email correspondence and invoices to back my side of the story. Please let me know if you would like them. Thank you for your time it took you to read my poor grammar and horrible spelling.

Sincerely, [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would take anything at this point! But really the best outcome would be a full refund of all the parts and services that I have paid JT's $1,437.00 or at the very least store credit towards the purchase of a different part all together.

Hi [redacted]

Our Relationship goes back to 6/20/2012 With [redacted]. At that time he bought a 17 spline limited slip from us. Then On 4/8/2013 He purchased parts for rebuilding the limited ship that he had modified with another manufactures internals, He had put different axles in and coinciding internal parts. Then on 4/24/2013 He purchased Internals and a differential rebuild kit from us, the other manufactures internals had failed. On 6/26/2013 He had sent in his differential for us to inspect to see if we could determine why the internals had now failed twice, One set ours and another set from another manufacturer. We Rebuild the differential and paid for the labor to do so, also discounted the parts. Then I received a call 3/10/2014 from [redacted] stating the parts had failed again. I spoke with [redacted] at length and said that there has to be something causing it, he was unwilling to hear anything I had to say. He continued to threaten and intimidate trying to get his way. A few days later the shop that does work for him called, the mechanic and I spoke at length about possible causes for this. We came to the conclusion that the axles he used are the only constant, and with the stock axles and limited slip he had no issue. I had no further communication with [redacted] or the shop after that. If the axles were too long it could cause this type of failure, being we did not supply the axles and did not install them we have no way of knowing if the setup is properly done. It is not only our parts that have failed in this rear-end, We tried to help the customer and being that there is a long time between the original sale and the current issue I cannot say what has happened in the time between.

For your information this job to remove and rebuild and re-install a differential in our shop is approx. $400-440 dollars. The Labor charges he has listed are extremely high, I cannot imagine any shop actually charging that much for the work done.

The problem started when he upgraded to the 30 spline axles, and he had a failure at that point and the only part of ours in this rear-end was the case, and this part did not fail it was another remanufactures parts. Then he had identical failures after that leading me to believe it is not the parts we or the other manufacture supplied but in fact the axles he used, being they are the only constant in this scenario.

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me.

Thank you

Review: several weeks ago I ordered a completely new custom ordered differential from this company. I made a point of confirming that all parts required were in stock before I ordered and the sales guy assured me they all were. I paid using my Visa card. 2 days later I received a call from the same sales person informing me that they in fact didn't have the 8&3/4 489 nodular housing that they sold me after all & didn't know if they would be getting more. I was also told that my card had already been charged. the salesman then told me that he did have on the shelf and ready to ship,"an even better" new nodular cased 742 diff that was built for another customer & who had backed out at the last minute. he said it had a slightly different gear ratio (3.91-4.10) & had a larger yoke but he could ship that one out today & even give me a $100 discount off my original price. I told him I would take the unit and just modify my drive line to work & buy taller tires to compensate for the gear ratio difference. when the differential arrived I opened the box and was shocked to find a beat up stock dodge housing instead of the new heavy duty nodular unit I had ordered. I found a weaker flat strap style yoke instead of the u bolt style yoke I had been promised. I found stock used adjusters instead of the forged new ones I was promised and I found the entire unit was dirty & even rusted in places from obviously sitting on the shelf for a long time. I immediately called the sales person who sold me the unit & told him what was in the box & he acted confused and asked me to email him some pictures which I immediately did. I called him back later that day to see what he wanted to do and was told to box it up and ship it back. I then asked them to send me a ups call tag which took several days to get. I shipped the unit back and they received it jun 21 but no refund has been issued. I have called and emailed several times and its the 28th now but still no refund has been issued. it only takes 2 minutes to refund my card.Desired Settlement: I did everything I said I would do and did it in a timely manor. when I trusted you with my order and card information I expected no less of you yet you totally failed in every aspect of this transaction including just giving me my money back. you have your product back. I would like a full refund of my $1225.00 put back on my card immediately so that I can stop monitoring my card and worrying about this!

Response:

Yes your card will be refunded just as soon as our returns dept gets to it. They process returns into the order on which they're received. Yours will be done this week.

Response:

Since Im told that my card will be refunded in the order my return was received I am truly surprised to learn that this business has received enough returns to back log their accounting department for more than 7 days especially since it only takes 5 minutes to open a box , see that the items are inclosed and refund my card. I see another obvious delay in store since the reply I received states my refund will occur this week and its already late Friday afternoon. The only acceptable reply to close my complaint would be the obvious " your card has been refunded in full"

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 9602436, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

Hello,

We are Quinn Valley Ranch, located in Okanogan County Washington. We, having lost most all of our equipment, livestock & buildings in the Chelan Complex fires of August 2015, recently started replacing vehicles we had lost in the.

I recently purchased a used truck from a local Dodge dealer, Damscov Ford/Dodge in Okanogan Wash.

During the inspection process it was determined that both drive/pinion gears were worn and needed to be replaced.

The Dodge dealer, a role model of how to handle an unforeseen repair, wanted to replace them with new OEM.

I did a little research and found ** in Cashmere. Having never been through this type of repair, I had no idea what needed to be done. I contacted a Mr. [redacted] at ** who began quoting me the necessary parts & service quotes to have them, **do the job. He also said that, "nobody could do this better than they could at **". Having never done this before I relied on his expertise.

After a few minor changes in my decision, due to my need on the ranch, and beginning low level pressure or "attitude" from Mr.[redacted], I decided on a set-up, arranged for the service appointment, payment from the dealer and delivered the vehicle.

It was this point that the "attitude" of Mr. [redacted]went very bad. His overconfident, condescending attitude was apparent. His overall disrespect of my needs, "as a customer" was, in my opinion, inexcusable. Having been retired from a self-run business with over 200+ employees and at the age of 53', I can honestly say, at this point I would not recommend this company to anyone.

As a complete 1st-time novice in this type of service, I can say the overall treatment after-the-sale of customers appears to be terrible. The condescending, disrespectful attitude of Mr. [redacted] was something I would not recommend customers need to put up with when shelling out $4-5k for a service.

However, it should be noted that I did not experience this "Poor Attitude" from any other employees but, I also did not hear back from the companies President Mr. [redacted] or Mr [redacted] after the breakdown, for a comment from managment prior to this complaint.

If ** intends to continue its business with retail customers who have very little, or no experience in this field, I would suggest they start showing the customer a little grace and at the very least a little respect in the process.

Thank you kindly, [redacted]
