Vehicle was first looked at 8-26-for the glove box lock cylinder brokenVehicle was returned to customer while waiting for the back ordered part to arriveVehicle then returned on 11-4-to have the lock cylinder replaced and vehicle was returned to the customer on the same dayOn 12-9-
someone from *** *** came in with the glovebox door and stated we had to have broken it and I said I would investigate itAfter talking to the tech that replaced the broken cylinder, he stated he did not have to remove the door and it appeared to have at one time forced openMy question is why after visits and months from the initial inspection and a month since the cylinder was replaced is this now brought to my attention?

Summit Ford will offer a 20% discount to repair the vehicleThe part that was replaced was internal transmission and the part that now needs to be replaced is external transmissionDiagnosis for the first concern was accurate and that Diagnostic Trouble Code has not returned.-- Dwayne DH***Summit Ford Inc.Fixed Operations Director*** ***

Brakes went out in 2015 F150 Platinum 12 hours from home. The truck was towed to Summit Ford Wednesday morning. They don't expect to be able to fix it until the following week. When I told them we had to leave for home prior to that they suggested I rent a car, drive home 12 hours, drive back when it is ready and then drive back home another 12 hours.

On first visit to Summit [redacted], customer had Trans Fault light on due to a Trans Speed Sensor Failure DTC [redacted]. Summit [redacted] replaced the Mechstronic Unit per the diag (Internal Transmission). The first one installed was defective and Summit [redacted] warrantied the part and returned the vehicle to the...

customer. 1226 miles later the Trans Fault light came back on, now with DTC [redacted] for trans temp. Diagnosis lead to the thermostatic valve (external to the transmission). Customer declined the second repair and was not charged! These are 2 different problems and 2 different repairs. The car was at an Independent Shop prior to coming to Summit [redacted] and codes were erased. Dealer could only diagnosis the current DTC's and those have not returned. My service advisor did admit to telling the customer the part replaced was covered 3 year unlimited miles and in fact it is only covered 2 year unlimited miles. I told the customer Summit [redacted] will warranty the part replaced for the 3 years. Customer was not told the entire transmission would be under warranty.
As to the parts pricing, it is to the discretion on the dealer to bill parts at or above MSRP and is common practice within the industry. Customer was charges $1089.95 for the parts and MSRP was $973.17. I will provide the signed Accounting Copy to the Revdex.com if requested.
