The definition of a bail bond is A written promise signed by a defendant or a surety (one who promises to act in place of another) to pay an amount fixed by a court should the defendant named in the document fail to appear in court for the designated criminal proceeding at the date and time specified.Individuals who are arrested can 1) post their own bond, i.epay in full the amount of bond placed on them by a magistrate, 2) remain in jail until their court date, or 3) post bond through a bail bond company. Most defendants are financially unable to post their own bond, so they seek the assistance of a bail bond company For a nonrefundable fee of normally 10-percent of the face value of the bond, the bonding company posts the bond; therefore, the bonding company takes on the financial liability of the defendant’s appearance in court Should the defendant fail to appear in court, then the county sues the bonding company for up to the full face value of the bond[redacted] bond was set at $75, The nonrefundable fee assessed to post the bond was $7,with a $state fee The state fee is a fee charged by every county in Texas to post a bond It is paid to the jail not the bonding company The total [redacted] paid to get her nephew out of jail was $7, ***’s Bonding posted the $75,bond for his release[redacted] came in and paid the fee and signed an indemnity for her nephew The indemnity guaranteed that if [redacted] failed to appear in court, then she would reimburse ***’s Bonding any monies they had to pay the courts because of his failure to appear Why would any enter into a contractual agreement of that nature without understanding how the process worked? There are also requirements placed on defendants, which include reporting in by phone every week This has nothing to do with getting a refund, as the fee paid is nonrefundable The reporting in is so the company maintains updated records on the defendant, i.eaddress, phone number, so in the event a court date arises, the company can get in contact with the defendant to advise of said date.Ms [redacted] ’ was not taken advantage of by this company This is a business transaction that happens the same way every day Individuals go to jail, they call a bonding company, they pay a fee for the bond to be posted, and they get out of jail.It works similar to a loan The bonding company “loans” the defendant the face value of the bond In the case of [redacted] $75, The family/defendant pay a fee to use the bonding company’s moneyThis company prides itself on operating business in a professional manner We do not pretend to help, and then take advantage We DO help families We help by posting the value of the bond, so the defendant can be released from jail and continue working and caring for their families while they wait for court Ms [redacted] could have posted the $75,bond herself, and gotten refunded after the courts were complete They chose to use a bonding service, so no refund is owed.We have been in business since 1979, and have never had any complaints with regard to the way we do business I regret that Ms [redacted] did not fully understand the way a bond works

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Regards, [redacted] I am glad know miss [redacted] took the time to explain to me what was not explain to me by [redacted] ! Let me asked this, so since you paid $75,did you get your money back? If so why would I not get some of my money back? You know is kind of weird that [redacted] no longer work for ***'s Bonding, is it because she screwed up other people, by telling them lies? Like she did to meI will stand by word, that I was never told by no one in that office that I was not going to get my money back! It don't anymore, they can explain whatever they want to! The explanation is now too lateIs that why this business has become so rich??? Well I guess soBut I will repeat this one more time, if I would have had any knowledge that I was giving money away, I would have never done itThis opened my eyes for next time somethings happens to one of our relativesI do love my relatives but not to the extreme to give money away, the way it happened to me this pasted time***'s bonding, I can tell one thing sure, been rich is not for ever! I hope that this money that you are keeping lasted forever and that there's no regrets somedayThanks for the late information!!! By the way one more thing it was mentioned that the reason the defendant was to report ones a week was to inform them of a court dateThat just contradict what I was asked by the staff ever time, I calledThey would asked me if I new of a court date?? It makes no sense why I was asked that every timeNow you are explaining why the defendant had to reportI don't need no more respond to this!

The definition of a bail bond is A written promise signed by a defendant or a surety (one who promises to act in place of another) to pay an amount fixed by a court should the defendant named in the document fail to appear in court for the designated criminal proceeding at the date and time
specified.Individuals who are arrested can 1) post their own bond, i.epay in full the amount of bond placed on them by a magistrate, 2) remain in jail until their court date, or 3) post bond through a bail bond company. Most defendants are financially unable to post their own bond, so they seek the assistance of a bail bond company. For a nonrefundable fee of normally 10-percent of the face value of the bond, the bonding company posts the bond; therefore, the bonding company takes on the financial liability of the defendant’s appearance in court. Should the defendant fail to appear in court, then the county sues the bonding company for up to the full face value of the bond.*** *** *** bond was set at $75,000. The nonrefundable fee assessed to post the bond was $7,with a $state fee. The state fee is a fee charged by every county in Texas to post a bond. It is paid to the jail not the bonding company. The total *** *** paid to get her nephew out of jail was $7,515. ***’s Bonding posted the $75,bond for his release.*** *** came in and paid the fee and signed an indemnity for her nephew. The indemnity guaranteed that if *** failed to appear in court, then she would reimburse ***’s Bonding any monies they had to pay the courts because of his failure to appear. Why would any enter into a contractual agreement of that nature without understanding how the process worked? There are also requirements placed on defendants, which include reporting in by phone every week. This has nothing to do with getting a refund, as the fee paid is nonrefundable. The reporting in is so the company maintains updated records on the defendant, i.eaddress, phone number, so in the event a court date arises, the company can get in contact with the defendant to advise of said date.Ms***’ was not taken advantage of by this company. This is a business transaction that happens the same way every day. Individuals go to jail, they call a bonding company, they pay a fee for the bond to be posted, and they get out of jail.It works similar to a loan. The bonding company “loans” the defendant the face value of the bond. In the case of *** $75,000. The family/defendant pay a fee to use the bonding company’s moneyThis company prides itself on operating business in a professional manner. We do not pretend to help, and then take advantage. We DO help families. We help by posting the value of the bond, so the defendant can be released from jail and continue working and caring for their families while they wait for court. Ms*** could have posted the $75,bond herself, and gotten refunded after the courts were complete. They chose to use a bonding service, so no refund is owed.We have been in business since 1979, and have never had any complaints with regard to the way we do business. I regret that Ms*** did not fully understand the way a bond works
