Jules Poirier Company Reviews (5)

I have had nothing but great experiences with Jules. I have only ever talked with him or his daughter who now works with him. They are both very professional and so are their installers. Always have showed up on time (which ive had terrible luck with other contractors in the past). I was recommended by a friend years back and have since gone back to Jules 3 times for roofing, gutters and some window issues, he has always helped me out and gotten back to me in the same day. I 100% recommend him for the job.

The Jules Poirier Company replaced all the windows, doors, and storm doors in our house and then installed vinyl siding on the exterior. The project went very smoothly and and exactly as planned. We were extremely happy with quality of craftsmanship and expertise shown by his workers. The punctuality of his workers was also extremely impressive, everyday they were here exactly when they said they would be. Everything was completed within the timeframe that we were given. Also, Jules was very easy to contact with any questions and concerns. We will certainly use the Jules Poirier Company again in the future and will definitely recommend him to family and friends.

Review: Jules Poirier was informed that a pane in a window he installed needed replacement. It was still under warranty but the company he used was no longer in business so he was not very happy but he did say he would replace it. Six months later he still hadn't done the work, despite numerous e-mails and phone calls from us. Our house was on the market at that time and on the day it sold, we let Mr. Poirier that he must fix the pane. He still procrastinated but finally told us his employee could come by the house on the very day our moving company was packing us up. We weren't happy but felt we had no choice since the closing was a few days away. Among all the activity that morning, the repair to the pane was done but now the window wouldn't close properly. We insisted it be fixed that day and four hours later, we were told everything was fine. We believed him and unfortunately did not confirm it for ourselves. At the walk through two days later, the window would not close and the buyers required us to put $800 in escrow for the repair. We did not feel that we were responsible for this expense but felt we had no other option, otherwise the closing would not take place and we were already on route to our new house in [redacted]. When confronted with the fact that his employee had not fixed the window that he had broken while putting in the new pane, Mr. Poirier sided with his employee and basically called us liars. It is very interesting that the window was

working perfectly during the house inspection but not after we had the new pane installed. It is even more interesting that Mr Poirier is doing the repair for exactly $800, which he would not have gotten from us if we had stilled owned the house. We would like to warn other potential customers that although the initial installation was

okay, if anything goes wrong afterwards, you cannot trust him to do a reputable fix.Desired Settlement: A check in the amount of $800.00 to cover the escrow amount we lost at the closing of our house.

RE: [redacted]

To whom it may concern:

In February 2014 I received a phone call from Mr. [redacted] pertaining to condensation in between the casement window glass in his kitchen. I told Mr. [redacted]o locate his contract and warrantee from the manufacturer. We then scheduled an appointment for me to evaluate the issue. Once I arrived, I looked at the window and noticed the brand name and that it was no longer in business. My company installs 7 to 10 different window products depending on the client’s needs. Mr. [redacted] would also tell me he could not locate the contract or his warrantee. I told Mr. [redacted] I would order a new piece of glass from a glass company at my expense and also install it at my expense. Later in February I contacted Mr. [redacted] and told him that the glass had arrived. At Mr. [redacted] recommendation he suggested we wait for warmer weather. He did not think it would be a good idea to replace the glass in 0 degree temperatures. I agreed. I then contact Mr. [redacted] in the Spring to schedule a time. We connected and agreed on a day that would be convenient for him. I then sent my window installer who has been working with my company for 30 years. That morning I would receive a phone call from my installer indicating the window was not functioning properly. My installer also brought this to Mr. [redacted] attention. Mr. [redacted] said “don’t worry install the glass; it will be the next persons problem.” I informed my installer to try and adjust the window the best he could. I never heard from Mr. [redacted] again. I then received a phone call from Mr. [redacted] attorney asking if I could adjust the window. We then went back a second time the next day. His attorney would call me again. I told the attorney that it was unfortunate that the manufacturer Mr. [redacted] requested upon his research on windows, was not my responsibility. His attorney informed me that he had put aside $800.00 in escrow to replace the window if it became an issue. I told him that I had spent $300.00 in labor and material so far trying to help Mr. [redacted] out. He then told me that he really appreciated the help I had given him and his client. At that point I had considered the matter closed.

I am rejecting this response because:

Jules was a great contractor. He did my roof 15 years ago, my siding about 8 years or so ago and I called him last year to replace some windows. I only ever dealt with Jules. His workers were friendly and professional. I have since recommend Jules to friends and family (a few going with him) and it all worked out great. I try to support local businesses and go with contractors I trust and Jules is one of them.

I am in the midst of having a lot of work done by this company, windows, doors, siding, and eventually a new roof. Jules attends each project. His employees are respectful, clean, on time, take the time to explain their daily plans, and even took the time to get to know my dogs. The price is fair, no shortcuts taken, and my home is warmer. I highly recommend this company. Jules ensures every detail is handled correctly.
