Jumbo Supermarket

My experience at Jumbo Westerstraat 98 was shockingly bad. I walked out the wrong door by mistake, and instead of simply pointing me to the exit, the employee called me “stupid,” told me I wasn’t a real customer, and said I should shop at Albert Heijn instead. Completely unprofessional behavior.

It gets worse: I filed a complaint with Jumbo (09355135) and tried to follow up many times. For six weeks, all I got were automated replies. No human response. No manager. No apology. Nothing. Their customer‑service system is clearly broken, and they don’t seem interested in fixing it.

I’ve now escalated the issue to the Dutch Consumer Authority (ACM).
If this is how Jumbo handles complaints, customers deserve to know.

I URGE ALL ECO minded people not to shop at Jumbo Supermarkets! Jumbo no longer allows people to bring in their own permanent bags to pack their groceries in to prevent the horrible pollution of billions of throwaway plastic bags that also kill birds, fish and other wildlife! They actually took my bags away from me at the doorThis is amazing to me and when I nicely asked them why they would do this, they just told me that it's just they way it is, I could use plastic or I could shop elsewhere! Now I will shop elsewhere! I have also had problems with Jumbo refusing to take back food that was spoiled far before the expiration date on the productI recommend shopping at the many cost savings Bodegon and Presidente Hispanic supermarkets in Palm Beach County instead of Jumbo!
