are $to cover gym costs and club insurance and nothing elseThis is highlighted in two documents which are attached• [redacted] did not pay the registration fees• He was given the opportunity to fundraise to cover the feesWe often work with kids to assist them to cover their fees to reduce costs to families[redacted] stated that his parents were not going to pay and he would raise the money been able to travel home***'s Airfare: Las Vegas • I texted [redacted] along with other team mates to see if they were interested in using my PERSONAL companion ticket with [redacted] Text was sent March 8,• [redacted] replied on March 9,and stated to purchase the Companion ticket to Las VegasHe stated that he convinced his mom and she would have the money on March 9thin full $• Via text ,I stated to [redacted] that the ticket was purchased by my personal [redacted] CC per [redacted] Companion fare rules and that payment needs to be made out to I personal paid for the ticket [redacted] companion fares are Non-refundable per [redacted] policies• When [redacted] texted that he was quitting the team, I reminded him that he needs to check with the airline, as there is restrictions on the ticket• I called [redacted] and was told the ticket is non-refundable per [redacted] policyI relayed this message to ***.I did not receive another text or reply from ***Parent Involvement • As outlined in the initial information given to [redacted] when you joined it was stated that parent involvement is a mustParents are needed to help make decisions on travel, competitions, fundraising and to assist as the team needs• [redacted] was included in all Cheer group emailsShe never assisted in any fundraising or gave her input/opinions on the team's travel plans or competitions• First contact with [redacted] was after I send a 2nd reminder for [redacted] to make payment on his account- March 31,• [redacted] stated to myself, team mates and other adults that his parents are not involved and his parents believe that if he wants to participate in sports or activities he needs to do it all by himself• Due to lack of parent involvement, there were times that [redacted] did not have rides or did not participate in fundraisingFrom working with youth over the last years, I understand that not all parents are involved or view cheer as a sportThe Juneau Cheer Club and I believe in working with kids to ensure they have the same opportunities as those kids who have parent involvementI don't think dropping a kid from a sport they enjoy, due to finances or parent involvement is the correct action to take• The Club does however, expect that each member be responsible for their expenses and actions• [redacted] did turn down jobs and did miss several team fundraising jobs complained to my supervisorThis was harassment and to take this personal as to trying to attack my place of work or employment was beyond acceptable• My place of work is supportive of youth sports and has been supportive of me coaching at [redacted] as well as with the Juneau Cheer Club• After [redacted] did not attend the meeting and called my employer, I no longer replied to her emailsSummary: [redacted] joined the team and returned signed and completed forms[redacted] and his mom were included in all group cheer emailsBoth [redacted] and his parents were given information, which was clear on costs, airlines expenses, fundraising and other team activities and plansFailing to be involved or gain more information if you're uncertain about a sport and/or costs is the parent's and participant's responsibility [redacted] and [redacted] were given detailed information regarding his account and the AK Airlines companion fare [redacted] choose to quit the teamHe quit the team less than a week before a big performance and a couple weeks away from competition in Las VegasThe team has to rework the entire routine, takingout stunt groups and leaving team mates and parents frustrated and upsetCheer is a sport which utilizes ALL participants, no one person is a star and everyone is importantReworking a competitive routine with only a few days before a competition adds stress and also is a safety issueThe team was able to overcome these challenges and performed wellThe club is headed by the parent groupParents are emailed weekly of team practices and fundraisingParents held a parent meeting on January 6,to decide on fundraising events and which competitions to attend[redacted] did not attend this meeting, nor did she reply to any emails regarding
