Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: Their response is only partly trueNot much of what they wrote is true. They did NOT ask me repeatedly for the name of the shop I took the vehicle toTo my recollection, they didn't even ask onceWhen we spoke on the phone, I was told by the owner of Juneau Motors that I had to get estimatesNow in the letter, they state they asked for twoThat is not trueI told them I placed more than one adThey took a picture of only the first adThat ad was quickly deleted, and I posted another adAlso...they neglected to state that because of the condition of the vehicle, I took a considerable loss on the sale of the vehicleThey also accused me of calling their dealership mechanic repeatedlyI only called there twice...trying to get information about work they had done on the vehicleThe shops I contacted did NOT ask that I wash the car and remove the DIRT...they said there was so much oil under the vehicle and on the bottom of the engine and transmission that they couldn't see where the leak was coming fromThey asked that I clean the OIL off the car so they could see if they could find the leakI don't know why they didn't try to clean it off themselves. I felt VERY intimidated by the words and aggressive attitude of the owner of Juneau MotorsIt felt to me as if there was no attempt at reconciliationThe ONLY offer the owner ever made, besides me bringing the car back at quite a large expense to me, was to pay for maybe 5% of the repair...(oil leak)That was not a reasonable offer...as the vehicle was leaking when I purchased itI had SPECIFICALLY asked, by text, if the vehicle had any leaksI received a text in reply that NO, the vehicle had NO LEAKS. That has been my issue right from the startThe other stuff was never the issue. The issue was simply that they lied about there being no leaks, then refused to make it rightI didn't have any work done on the vehicle because I had already spent more money on it than it was worthI would NEVER have bought it had I known of the oils there were. The people who bought it were able to drive it and were happy with itSince neither of the shops I had taken the vehicle to were able to tell me exactly what was leaking and where, I had no information to tell the buyer. I am NOT slandering their company nameThey ASK and WANT clients to post reviews on the facebook websiteI don't have access to facebook so I used craigslist, the only outlet I hadThey flagged my review...so it is my understanding that they will ONLY accept positive reviewsIf someone has a negative experience with their dealership, I believe they use threats and intimidation to get the person to back off and not pursue or post a negative reviewThat is all I can think of at the momentThere have been unpleasant dealings on both sides of this issueI am not willing to pursue it anymoreI have a conscience...and it is clear in my part of this dealThe ladies at the dealership are free to think as they wishI have been honest in how I have handled this situationI will not continue to beat it to deathI have no further responseThank you
Sincerely,

To Whom It May Concern,With regards from the complaint made by [redacted], our company has taken multiple, reasonable steps to rectify the wrongs that Ms. [redacted] originally stated. Ms. [redacted] picked up the 1998 Mazda MPV in Juneau, Ak. She then drove the vehicle over 1000 miles to her home in...

Wasilla, Ak. At no time during this trip, did Ms. [redacted] experience any kind of mechanical problems. I then heard the first complaint from Ms. [redacted] almost two weeks later when she stated that she had brought her vehicle in to be fitted for an engine heater, and her “friend” (I repeatedly asked the name of the shop that she was using, to no avail) stated that there was oil leaking from “somewhere” in the engine, although there was no oil on the ground and that it would not be visible with the naked eye. At that point, I offered Ms. [redacted] a full refund, if she wanted to bring the vehicle back, even though she had put over 1000 miles on the vehicle and a great amount of time had passed. Ms. [redacted] said that it would not be feasible to bring the vehicle back because of the distance. I understood that this might not be the best option, I therefore asked Ms. [redacted] to provide 2 repair quotes from licensed mechanic shops in her area, so that we could talk about correcting the issue once we knew exactly what it was and how much it was going to be. I called Ms. [redacted] multiple times, each time asking for set phone appointment times that fit in her schedule, to check on the status of the repair quotes. Each time, Ms. [redacted] provided me with various excuses as to why she could not provide a repair quote, for example, she stated that there was too much dirt on the engine so the mechanic wanted her to wash the vehicle before writing an estimate. As someone who has been in the car industry for over 15 years, this was the first time I had ever heard of a mechanic turning down the possibility of a job. Multiple weeks went by, and Ms. [redacted]’s demeanor turned increasingly hostile. All the while, I was simply asking for a repair quote to rectify the problem. During our last interaction, Ms. [redacted] stated that she had decided to sell the vehicle on Craigslist, rather than move forward with allowing me to correct what she stated was wrong. I have attached a printed screen shot of her Craigslist post in her own writing, with her phone number, stating that the vehicle is in perfect working condition. I also verified with Ms. [redacted] that she sold the vehicle in the same condition that she purchased it from my company in. She had no mechanical work done on the vehicle, and simply allowed the new buyer to test drive it and sold it. Ms [redacted] had an asking price on the posting for $4200, she purchased the vehicle from me for $4000 and put at least 1500 miles on the vehicle. At this point, I am not sure if Ms. [redacted] was being truthful when she stated that there was an issue with the vehicle. By her own admission, through her Craigslist posting, the vehicle has no known issues to her. That combined with the fact that Ms. [redacted] never produced a single repair quote after I repeatedly asked her to, leads me to believe that she simply changed her mind and is now trying to extort money from my company by slandering my company’s name anywhere she is able. Monique R[redacted]Manager, Juneau Motors
