Just Air Reviews (23)

Our A/C QUIT ON Weds. 8/6/14. Upon looking at our unit inside our home I noticed it had frozen up and was leaking water in our hallway. I turned off the unit to let it defrost. I cleaned the coils etc off and tried to restart it. The unit wouldn't come back on and was making a noise. As the temperature was rising.in our home I knew I needed to call a company. I had used 2 well known companies before and was not very impressed. I used the internet to find someone reasonable and trustworthy. That is when I came across Just Air- family owned and A+ rating with the Revdex.com. I called them and told them what was going on. The woman on the other end said she would send someone within the hour. [redacted] showed up immediately and ready to work. He introduced himself to me and my husband and we discussed what was going on with our unit. He started working on our unit and told us it was the relay switch. He gave us the price and we had him do the repair. When he put things back together he noticed there was a heat smell coming from the unit, he immediately took the unit apart again and told us that since the A/C defrosted the water was draining in to the motor. He took out the motor and replaced it as well. [redacted] was very respectful, knowledgeable and accommodating to our needs. I also asked him to give us a quote on a new unit which he did. I feel that Just Air is a great company to help with all A/C needs and will definately use/recommend them in the future. Thank you Just Air for sending [redacted] to take care of us!! Looking forward to doing business with you again!!!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[redacted], the wife's owner informed me she would be suing me if the matter went public. I am asking to be reimbursed for partial payment. Since they never informed me that the air conditioner would not be able to fixed and therefore it would only be a temporary fix. If I was informed that I would not of spent @$1000 for a air conditioner service call when I made the appointment they assured me that they could fix the a/c unit.

I asked for a copy of the invoice since at that time, I was not able to locate mine. The one that Just Air provided I never received a copy of nor did I ever ask for them to make adjustments or cross out any information. Since, I already had an invoice and the payment which was e-mailed to me.

I have attached the only invoice I received from Just Air, On May 31, 2013. They never provided me with a written estimate except what is written on the invoice which it only states, "5 ton split trane gas". They accused me of getting companies to give me estimates. The only company which I got an estimate for was the company who installed the a York air conditioning unit.

Regards,

Wow! Awesome! Same day service with a smile. On time. I can't say that with most company's. Kind and really did a good job. The reason I picked Just Air was Revdex.com and A+. They knew what they were doing.
Just Air [redacted] Didn't let me down. I am a happy [redacted]cool[redacted] consumer.
Thank you Just Air.

Wow what wonderful customer service! I have to start by saying that we were out of town and came back to our house in Arizona in June on a 119 degree day to a very HOT house! We called and James came out within a couple of hours and replaced the fan on our unit. From the time we made the phone call to get someone over to just at least diagnose the problem this company was so professional and reasonable on their prices. Thank you again Just Air for fantastic service you will be our only go to from now on!

Just Air is a company I can stand by. They were courteous about our time and was there when they had said they would. They did a thorough inspection and didn't charge us for items we didn't already have on hand for the fixes that were made. They are very respectable people and business. I will highly recommend their services a thousand times over and will rely on them for future complications.

On a 116 degree day my AC went out and I called Just Air for help. We had a tech onsite within an hour and the AC was back running in less than two hours. Very quick and professional service.

I have attached a copy of Mrs. [redacted]'s invoice and also a detailed response to her complaint. Her complaint is false and malicious. We never did anything that would harm her or anyone else in anyway. She is claiming we could have caused death to her and her family and we could have caused her house...

to burn down, which is completely untrue. She is slandering us and we are contacting our lawyer. In response to complaint #[redacted]

[redacted] and [redacted] were out at [redacted]’s house 5/31/13 for a service call, her unit was not working. When they arrived Mrs. [redacted] was in her front yard screaming profanities at a landscaper. The two of them were screaming at each other right in front of her house, the landscaper was throwing his tools in the back of his truck and the two of them were calling each other every name in the book. At that time our guys were uncomfortable and they were contemplating leaving the call and not doing her service call at all. Now after dealing with Mrs. [redacted] ourselves we should have just left that day and not serviced her unit. She is an unreasonable person to deal with.

Because of the condition of her unit and all the problems they were having we recommended a new unit. We said we would do the repairs needed, to get them some cooling now and would use the cost of repairs as a down payment for a new unit. That’s why there are scribbles on the invoice. Mrs. [redacted] went back and forth a few times.

They diagnosed the problems with the unit. The tune up section which she states in her complaint is crossed out, was crossed out because we were not there to do a tune up inspection.  We were there to diagnose the broken down unit, for a service call. We did inspect her disconnect and found that it was fine, no burnt wires.  We never told her it was too old to replace, that doesn’t even make sense her house is only about 10 years old. If she needed a new disconnect and wanted a new disconnect we would have replaced it for her.  As I said when our guys were leaving she had purchased and scheduled an install for a new Trane unit that would come with a new disconnect. [redacted] Mattingly, who was at her house, is also a licensed electrician. He would never have left a unit running that could have burned down a house. [redacted] told them that in the unit’s condition and the repairs needed he recommends the new 410A system, which she purchased and we had put on our schedule for installation on June 10th 2013, as stated on the invoice.

[redacted] told Mrs. [redacted] he didn’t recommend repairing the unit, she would have problems eventually due to the condition of the unit. And before he left her house she decided to go with a new unit, it was scheduled for June 10th 2013. She called us the next day saying the unit was running beautifully and she was going to postpone the new unit purchase. We said OK and took her off the schedule. We crossed out the new unit prices on our invoicing and used her $951.48 as her payment for the repairs done, per [redacted].

A Freon leak is a common problem that all units can come across. For her to say we left her with a unit that could expose toxic Freon to her family is ridiculous. Freon can leak out of systems. It happens all the time and no one gets hurt. It’s a common problem and common repair.

We repaired the unit in May and the repair lasted through the hot summer. She called us in September saying her unit isn’t working. We told her that we recommend she replace the unit and not spend the money on repairing the unit in the first place. We told her we will honor our original price that is written on her invoice and we will take off the cost of repairs done. That’s a pretty good deal. We were going to give her the $951.48 she paid in repairs off the price of a new unit; months after the repairs were done.

She kept calling and emailing us constantly asking for us to break down the bid for her more. We stand by our original bid. She wanted a more detailed bid so she can have another company come in and match our price. The other companies she was working with probably wouldn’t do a price match from the original bid we left, because of the scribbles, due to Mrs. [redacted] changing her mind. We emailed her the information, told her that it was a complete new 5 ton Trane system and all that would come within the price, gave her our price and told her we would take off the price of the repair from May. She still kept calling and emailing us for more information. We refused to write the bid out any differently for her. And after many calls and emails we stopped responding to her. That’s when she became upset. We know she needed a new unit. We told her that before doing her repair in May. We never said it will last 1-2 years. We can’t tell anyone how long any repair will last. All HVAC systems are different and also are exposed to extreme temperatures and conditions. No one can guarantee how long any repair will last.

She brings up her condensation line leaking and causing drywall problems, well in May there is no condensation because it’s not humid yet. When the humidity starts in July, August that causes condensation on the lines and it could cause leaks and damage. That has nothing to do with why we were there in May.

Mrs. [redacted] is saying we did something wrong by repairing her unit and could have burned down her house or cause Freon poisoning to her, her husband, and her dog. She is saying we could have caused them death in her complaint which is completely false. This is slander and completely untrue. We plan to take action against Mrs. [redacted]. We are contacting our lawyer in this matter. And we will pursue her for any legal fees as well as any damages this may cause our company from her slander. Mrs. [redacted] is upset because she spent $951.48 on repairs for a unit we told her should be replaced. It lasted her a few more months and then for whatever reason she decided not to go with us. If we installed a new unit for her we would have taken off the cost of repairs done in May. So now she bought a new unit and also paid for the repairs. We don’t pressure people into buy new units. And when she called and canceled we said “sure thing, we will take you off the schedule.” We can’t force someone to purchase a new unit. She decided to cancel. Her life, her husband’s life, and her pet’s lives were never in any danger. For her to say that we put them in danger is false and slander.

We will not be giving a refund of any kind to Mrs. [redacted] and if she does not retract this false complaint and proceeds to slander us we will be taking her to court. We are contacting our lawyer today about this matter. We are licensed HVAC technicians as well as Electricians, we are certified [redacted] Masters. We have never endangered a customer in any way. We go above and beyond for our customers and their safety. If we believe a unit is unsafe we will shut it down and refuse to reconnect it. In her case the repairs were done, to get her cooling while she waited for installation. We told her due to the condition of her unit that we didn’t recommend the repair and couldn’t guarantee how long the unit will work. It was repaired up to code and in no way did we leave her with an unsafe unit.  It is always the customer’s decision whether they replace a failing unit or continue to try and repair it. She decided to take her chances and cancel the installation.

We would understand if her complaint is that we wouldn’t give her a new bid, or a different bid. She can complain about that. She was upset with us because we wouldn’t break down our bid more for her. So now she is claiming we put their lives at risk, which is completely untrue and slander. We told her we would stand by our bid and take off the price of the repair. That wasn’t good enough for her. So now she is resorting to slander. She wrote herself on the invoice how happy she was with [redacted] and [redacted] that day. She is only changing her tune now, because she is upset she paid more for a unit then we would have charged and paid for the cost of the repair, which was her decision to make. Her life, her husband’s life and her pet’s lives were NEVER in any danger. After already giving her our bid she was completely unreasonable emailing us and calling us late at night on several occasions demanding we write a new bid. At this point we told her go with us or don’t. We are not writing up another bid.  As I stated our company did nothing wrong. Mrs. [redacted] is slandering us and we will be taking action.

She also brings up how long it takes for a technician to get from our office to her house, 40 min she claims. Our technicians are not sitting at the office waiting for calls. They are running around to other customers houses. You never know where they could be coming from, they drive all over to many different cities. And they spent two hours with them, which is more than enough time to do repairs. Her bringing this up doesn’t have anything to do with her service call and this situation. Her complaint is completely false and made out of anger. She made her own decisions. We tried to help her. We also stood by our original cost of the Trane system which she agreed upon, on May 31 2013, and also even though it was months later we would take the cost of the repair off the new unit purchase. She was not happy with that and continually called and emailed us because she wanted the bid differently. We can give customers bids however we choose and we have the right to refuse to work with unreasonable customers.

Mrs. [redacted] purchased a new unit from us the day of the repairs. We fixed her unit to get her cooling until the install was complete and used the cost of the repair as the down payment. The install was scheduled for June 10th 2013 as stated on the invoice. She called up and canceled the next day and said the unit was running beautifully and she would take her chances with the repair. We told her we recommend replacing the unit do to the condition it was in. We will not be giving her a refund of any kind. Mrs. [redacted] we would like you to go to the [redacted] or whoever else you want with this matter.

We are extremely grateful for the services that Just Air provides and the manner in which they provide them. When our AC went out in the middle of the night, we realized it at 5:00am and knew that we could count on Just Air to be available to take our service request. They are extremely professional, caring, and timely. True professionals and experts in the field.

For a stress-free, professional, expert service experience- We highly recommend Just Air. We wouldn't trust anyone else.

I woke up this morning at 6:30 with the AC not blowing cold air. The thermostat was set at 81° and it was 86° in the house. Richard call so of course I went to [redacted] and posted a request for someone to recommend a reliable honest AC service company. a very close friend of mine referred me to owner of the company's wife. I Citanest instant message but didn't get a response but upon looking at her [redacted] page I discovered the name of the company. By now was 830 and it was up to 87° I spoke with James. He said he could be there between nine and 11. he was there by 10:30, I explained what the problem was, he went up on the roof, came back down, told me what was wrong, told me how much it was gonna cost, I said okay, he went up and by 10:50 I had cold air. I was even given a discount because of the referral! This was probably the simplest transaction I've ever done with the vendor. I would highly recommend them for any of your air conditioning needs.

Review: (Sorry in advance if for any grammar (spelling, punctuation, runs on sentences, etc…)

On May 31, 2013, Just Air came out to fix my air conditioner since my air conditioner unit was not working for over a week. I asked them (the owner, [redacted]) to replace the disconnect box, the insert and the wires. He informed my husband, [redacted] and I that our unit is too old and they no longer make them even though I showed him that I just purchased a disconnect box the day before at Lowes. (But how would I know he was lying and misleading me). His response was when you decide to replace you’re a/c unit that’s when the disconnect box would then be replaced.

[redacted] and his technician, [redacted] installed a 1/3 HP 1075 O.D Motor, O.D. Coil Clean w/fan motor which they used three zip ties to hold the wire on top of the fan bracket. They also added 2 ½ pounds of R22 Freon “@120 lb.”

I asked [redacted], how long do you think my air conditioner would last? He responded one to two years. He swept my credit card thru exactly at 11:01 AM and I already signed the invoice before he ran my credit card thru in the amount of $951.48. I was curious to know how much it would (the amount) be to ask him since I was curious about the cost of replacing the a/c unit from a Lennox to a Trane. He first put on the invoice he wrote “Rec Replacement unit. Customer is thinking about a replacement. If cust. decides to replace unit within 15 days we will take off $500 off unit price.” On the invoice we were discussing about replacing it since I commented, [redacted] and [redacted] were extremely helpful. Resolved the several issues we were having. They were polite and respectful. They fixed our problems” then I put my signature under what I just wrote.

Then he stated it would be $5800 minus $1000 (which was not on the invoice which I did not realize until they already left. At first, it seemed like a bargain $4800 plus tax (since I was told by others that Trane A/c units are the best and the cost is from $6000 to $7000. Then he wrote on the invoice, “(1) Full 5 ton split Installed on June 10th money paid today is deposit.” Then I wrote on the invoice after install our air conditioning Traine unit.

The invoice has a line crossed off on Heating Side and Air Conditioning Side but under the a/c side the four things are checked is outdoor fan amps, check indoor run cap for leakage & MFD which he would have had to go into the attic for that, which he didn’t, check outdoor run cap for leakage & MFD, and compressor SA RA MA with no numbers/readings. He did not check Inspect wiring even though he added wiring, inspect disconnect for coloring or burning, R22 pressures and check thermostat.

He claims he went over in detail about the new a/c he never did. All he said it would be a 5 Ton split. Trane. While he was leaving, I asked him for a brochure on Trane Unit. He handed me a “Trane 80 Oil Furnaces the Warm Side”

They were not even here for more than two hours (that’s being generous) since they called me at 9:16 AM from their office in Phoenix and informed they will be here shortly which is @40 miles away from there office to my house and they processed my credit card payment at 11:01 am) the majority of their time was talking to [redacted] and I.

After speaking with my husband about getting a new a/c installed we both said, he said it will last one to two years. I actually called the office (5:34 PM) and spoke with his receptionist and stated that we are not going to have a new a/c unit installed since we were informed that it will last one to two years. We will replace it in the near future.

(I did not know [redacted] was the owner of Just Air until I communicated with him via e-mail and phone calls.)

We did not know anything about SEER and EER. I found that out in August when I went on [redacted] website to see if they had any deals on a/c units since mine was no longer working (cooling the house) to when Just Air came out to fix it and duct work because when Just Air serviced the a/c unit we were actually going to have them install a/c unit but that changed when [redacted] and I communicated, accused me of basically lying saying that I had another air conditioning company(ies) give me written estimates and I just want them to beat his so I can go with that company. I never had any one come to my house to give me an estimate on replacing my a/c unit. I was honest with him when [redacted] representatives came to my house (unexpected) I told them I only interested in air ducts and my dryer vent cleaned but they also wanted to give me an estimate on a/c unit. I declined them. (To date, I still haven’t gotten my air duct or my dryer vent cleaned.)

After requesting from [redacted] several times for an estimate for replacing an air conditioning unit and what it entails he refuses but will state things on the phone and then change his mind. (I have lived in my house for three years, any work I had done from landscapers to remodeling my house I have written estimates. To date, [redacted] has not provided and refuses to provide me with a written estimate. I like documentation…first I like to have all the information I need, and also verbal estimates can be misinterpreted, it doesn’t state what the replacement includes and doesn’t, and there is no paper trail especially when you go to court written documentation is clear cut and talking isn’t.

In my opinion and based on evidence (written, pictures and video) Just Air did not only do a “quick fix (The a/c unit ran a lot louder, at first it was cool but it did not last long just approximately three months. I left them a few voice messages never heard anything and also informed him in an e-mail that there was a problem. He never responded) and take advantage of having a couple trust and have faith that Just Air fixed the issue not put my life, my husband’s, and my dog’s life in extreme danger.

I hired an electrician, [redacted] to do some work (change the electrical outlet behind my refrigerator and other things. We are so grateful and appreciative that he decided to check the disconnect box and noticed that it was burnt and so was the whip. He informed us not to turn on/use the a/c unit or the fan because if we did our house would catch on fire.

Since then, I have had my air conditioner replaced unfortunately the company gave me more disturbing information and facts which are I have proof (e-mails, audio and video recordings with their consent, documentation, and pictures)

I just don’t want this to happen to someone else. We are extremely blessed and thankful that nothing happened to my family and we still live in our dream house.

I will be filing a complaint with the [redacted], Regulatory Body and the [redacted].Desired Settlement: My husband and I would like an apology and also requesting a refund for the money you charged us to fix our air conditioner to work.

You mislead us by trusting you when you told us information especially when you could not replace the disconnect since the unit is too old and you did not repair the air conditioner to the normal standards when you check to make sure everything on the air conditioner is operating effectively and efficiently, but you did the total opposite you did a quick fix and by doing that you could of damaged (house could of caught on fire, the Freon could have been exposed to people which is toxic, and put lives at risk or death. Your business ethics and professionalism have a lot to be desired. We suffered not only financially to purchase a new air conditioner which could have been avoided 100% and it caused water damage to my attic do to the system not running properly the coils leaked water and there was condensation on the one return where the filter is. I paid extra money to the painter I hired to repair the damage by the return. If you checked it instead of making a comment that you need to replace your filter since it’s dusty and informing him you had one in your vehicle. We informed you that my husband just replaced the filter a couple months ago and we also have brand new filters. The filter wasn’t filled with dust it was the metal grate (cover) that was dusty but if you opened that return he would have seen all the condensation which he could have sealed that so it would not have done any damage.

Response:

I have attached a copy of Mrs. [redacted]'s invoice and also a detailed response to her complaint. Her complaint is false and malicious. We never did anything that would harm her or anyone else in anyway. She is claiming we could have caused death to her and her family and we could have caused her house to burn down, which is completely untrue. She is slandering us and we are contacting our lawyer.

In response to complaint #[redacted] and [redacted] were out at [redacted]’s house 5/31/13 for a service call, her unit was not working.

Regards,

Business

Wow!

Just Air was just great! [redacted] came out to our house, worked quickly, and was very helpful and informative when he had questions. Not to mention, very professional. Just Air was referred to us by a family member and we will definitely be passing on the favor by referring them to someone else!

A/C stopped working around 5PM. Panic mode. Called Just Air and was able to get [redacted] out within an hour to take a look. I received a no-BS diagnosis and repair for an extremely reasonable price and the house was cool again within an hour. I fully trust him to overhaul my system when the time comes. I really appreciate the huge relief you gave us last night. It was much needed

I have used Just Air 2 times, and in both cases I was extremely impressed with the service and the price.

These guys answer the phone quickly, and are very fast and they will not rip you off. I always hesitate to leave reviews but I had to share just how happy I am with Just Air.

James has taken great care of us 2 times at 2 different homes and each time the work has lasted, and the experience was trouble free, fast and very professional.

I highly recommend Just Air, they will take great care of you, I have no doubt once you use them you will never use anyone else.

I had Just Air come out to my home and inspect a unit that was not holding the right temperature. I was not home but my wife let them in. She said they were there 10 to 15 minutes and stated my unit was to small. (Two summers ago I had a unit replaced and it worked just fine. Different company installed it.) Just Air gave her a quote for a new unit and never inquired about the old unit and it's history. I called them and asked what was done and they gave me the same spiel about the unit being too small. When I asked why it worked fine two summers in a row just fine he implied I was lying. I asked again and he had no answer and started arguing with me.I don't feel the inspection was very thorough. I hired them to solve a problem but I don't think they know how and cover by arguing with the customer. I am out $65 dollars and am no better off then before I called them and don't question them or they will just yell at you and hang up on you. They are rude and not helpful. Just air take my $65 donation and take a customer service class.

JustAir is a company with integrity. I'm so pleased I chose just air to resolve my a/c problem. To begin with, Danielle worked with me to schedule and reschedule an appt. I had to cancel 2 appt. and she was professional and was happy to accommodate my needs.

James M[redacted] arrived in a timely fashion. He was polite, respectful ,

(wore booties over his shoes) and knowledgable. I had called with a problem of my return not cycling off. Within minutes he realized I had inadvertently hit the fan button which told my unit to run 24/7. It was my mistake, he resolved it and waived the service charge. I have never experienced THAT courtesy from any other company. They obviously aren't out to rip the customer off. I will definitely be using this company in the future!

This is a great family run company. I needed to get my A/C checked out - during our first real hot days of the AZ Summer. My systems have been installed and serviced by the 'other' company ([redacted])- so when I called in need I fugured they would help. But they did'nt answer their telephone number posted on the site. When I went back to my many receipts I found another telephone number and dialed. Guess what- I got their answering service- and no help at all as no one was available from their servicemen. So I searched google and dialed JustAir. I was greeted by a very nice person- who could actually confirm that they had a person- and that they would be to me no matter what.
Awesome service, fixed problem, service with a smile, and didnt waste time. Also offered to change my filters- and explained all the information very clearly.
These guys are awesome and can teach the big companies a thing or too.
I highly recommend trying Just Air. PS I have not written many reviews online before- maybe 3 in my life - and this is the very best review I can offer.

We have been using Just Air since we bought our house in 2010. They have always been professional, punctual, and great at what they do. I have absolutely no complaints and I recommend them to everyone. We just had to replace our air conditioner and the whole transaction and instillation was fast, painless, and when they left everything was clean and looked like it did before they came. Thank you Just Air for being a company we can trust!

I got home on a friday night and noticed the ac was out. I called Just Air and [redacted] came out and had me up and running within the hour. Quick quality service 24 hours 365 days a year. I would recommend these guys to anyone!
