To whom it may concern,
On 3/15/2015 [redacted] brought his car to us that he had let sit outside with a broken window regulator which made his driver's door glass stay down, he had let it sit for a period of time before he brought to us. When he brought the car to us due to rain and window being down the interior of his vehicle had water damage which he wanted us to fix for him along with other issues he was having. He asked if we could also diagnose his car because there was a squeak under hood that he couldn't stand. He then advised us he had a battery drain problem and that his seat seemed to be shorting out and for us to be careful not to move the seat switch.
1. We disassembled the drivers door and found broken mounting brackets for the window regulator which we had to repair the mounting brackets before we could install a new GM#XXXXXXXX window regulator the cost $308.16. We also repaired his driver's window switch so it would work properly. We removed and reinstalled window regulator and motor and had to remove the driver's door panel in order to do the work. We charged 6.5 hours at 95.00 but it took longer for the work we did to repair his window regulator and brackets.
2. After that we diagnosed the squeak which we had to replace defective ac belt tensioner and readjust door glass to fit properly GM#XXXXXXXX and then recheck it, then disassemble and replace another GM part#XXXXXXXX ac belt pulley and lower ac belt #XXXXXXXX
After that we called him up on 3/21/2015 his total bill was 1851.78 he came out and paid his bill and we discussed the next set of repairs to be performed. We went over the diagnostics and all the repairs before the work began, then he decided to replace the seat covers and repair the seat motor, remove the carpet since the interior was soaking wet from him neglecting to fix the window and let sit outside until bringing to us, when we removed the carpet we found mold in his car and had to remove all carpet and power wash it and apply mold remover it was very bad. The seat track itself has a common problem of breaking and requires a kit and few hours of labor just to repair the seat track section. He originally told us about the battery drain and the electrical short that is the labor I don't think he fully understood on the repair bill since it was good Friday and we were closing early we didn't type up everything that was done but we did discuss it, which if he had questions I would have completely explained to him again until he did understand it when he picked up the car. All the labor hours on the repair order are true and we saved him a lot of money by saving his carpet so he wouldn't have to buy new carpet, we also did dry out one of the modules that were causing the short but the actual seat switch had to be replaced. What he should have done in the 1st place was to report the water damage to his insurance company. When he had to pick up the car he was going to get a cab to bring him here I offered to pick him up since it was good Friday and we were closing early he declined the offer, when he picked up the car he called me within three to five minutes to say he did not like the way radio sounded describing bass and treble problems but we never worked on the radio. I told him to come in sometime next week to show me what he was talking about so I could see for myself. When my technician came in following Monday morning I told him what happened he did say there is a radio relay on receiver in drivers area that had a lot of rust on it, which again water damage would cause many problems that being one of them. But I still wanted to see for myself. Mr. [redacted] then sent me a threatening text message at 3:30am wishing bad upon my business which I am sending you pictures of. After that I still replied and told him I would gladly still take a look at it then he said I would have to come to his house to look at it. Since we don't have a service van and or perform house call repairs there is no way I could determine what would be wrong at his home. So I couldn't do that but offer still open for him to bring to shop. As for the Girl Scout cookies I was the only person here the day he picked the car up at that time there is no truth to that we do not even have an employee here with a daughter in girl scouts that would be selling cookies or offering them to anyone. But again the offer is still open for him to bring his car up here and we will take a look at it.
