Review: My wife and I hired Mr. Showers to add a shower to our upstairs bathroom and insert a closet. Mr. Showers quoted us $8,275.00 plus the cost of glass. The quote was to include tile, for which I ended up paying, but did not include shower glass, vanity, and faucet. Mr. Showers was given the scrap from the project in order to lower the overall cost of construction. No further documentation was given and no change orders were signed. I paid an extra $1725 upfront to cover the cost of the glass, vanity, and faucet. Additionally I covered the cost of the tile, which should have lowered the estimate by an additionally $515. This should have left me with an additional $2,240 for the tub, vanity, glass, and faucet. After the initial 2 weeks of construction, Mr. Showers, who promised to have the project completed by the time of my wedding went missing. He stopped returning calls, was actually parking outside of my house, but only doing so to commute to [redacted] for another job he was working on. Months went by without completion of the project. The tile had not been grouted, holes were still in the drywall (which still exist 8 months later), we had no shower glass, no vanity, and no sink. The bathroom was not usable and $11,000 had been paid to that point. Finally we were able to get in touch with Mr. Showers after threatening to take him to small claims court. He required an additionally $2,000 for the shower glass, which I very begrudgingly paid. He installed the vanity and grouted the floor. By this time 4 months had gone by since the project, which was only supposed to take 2 weeks, began. My wife and I are still without completion of the project. The dry wall has not been repaired, scratches remain on our existing custom wood, walls that have been scratched have not been repainted. Additionally, we have been told by separate contractors that the ventilation was done improperly in the bathroom and will eventually lead to roof damage on our home.Desired Settlement: We recently received a call from [redacted] Glass who said that Mr. Showers never paid them for their services related to our shower glass. This totals roughly $2,300. [redacted] indicated that they will be sending me the bill if they are unable to get the money from Mr. Showers. Mr. Showers needs to pay [redacted] IMMEDIATELY and finish the project at my home. The proper ventilation must be installed, the dry wall must be fixed, the paint must be touched up, and scratches buffed out.
