This member signed a contract for two years in January of 2013.  When Just fitness of Mandarin changed it's name to Club Fitness all contracts will be honored for members who signed contracts with Just Fitness of Mandarin.  Ownership of this location has not changed.  The owners of...

this location are not located in Florida so I'm not sure as to how Ms. Argueta has come into contact with them.  Our billing company National Fitness has received your cancellation letter and processed the cancellation for 1/29/2015.

Review: In Jan. of 2012 I submitted the proper paper work to terminate my membership with Just Fitness 4U. Their policy states they need 30 days notice, so I expected one more payment to be rendered. In June I was still being billed. I Then resubmitted my paper work to end my membership again and as of December I was still being billed. I canceled my credit card and had a new one issued so that I wouldn't be billed anymore by the fitness center. Today, July 10, 2014 I received a phone called stating that I owed over $196 or would have my credit hit with in two weeks. They also said they would be willing to take off $100 to have a settlement of $96. This is still unacceptable.Desired Settlement: have my account terminated completely and have all outstanding debt be cleared to zero.

I have talked to someone at the store and they are refunding me, and taking all debts and fees and erased them. This is satisfactory to me.

Review: I joined Just Fitness on 2/9/2012 with a 2 year contract which was completed and paid in full in 2/2014. In July 2014 I started getting collection notices stating I owed them money. when I called the number on the collection letter I was told that the money owed was for annual dues. they proceeded to tell me that I have a lifetime membership. After 2 yr contract was up I had a lifetime membership with only an annual fee. Advised them that the contract does not state anything about a lifetime membership and that the renew terms on the contract were crossed out by their staff at time contract was signed. Upon further examination of contract under article 10. Duration it clearly states this is not a lifetime or perpetual contract. I have called the company numerous times about this collection notice and have been told that the contract is binding and that I can appeal their decision in writing if I do not agree.Desired Settlement: I would like the collection to be closed.

Review: I MOVED FROM JACKSONVILLE, FL ON MARCH 2013, I AM MORE THAN 30 MILES AWAY FROM THE NEAREST GYM AND PER THEIR CONTRACT I HAVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL, I HAVE FAXED MY INFORMATION SEVERAL OF TIMES TO HAVE MY CONTRACT CANCELLED. THEY ACKNOWLEDGE RECEIPT OF IT AND NEVER CANCEL MY ACCOUNT, WE ARE HERE ON SEPTEMBER AND NOW MY ACCOUNT IS IN COLLECTIONS.I HAVE SPOKEN TO MANAGEMENT ABOUT THIS SEVERAL TIMES, NOW THEY ARE REFERING ME TO A COLLECTIONS AGENCY TRYING TO COLLECT THE REMAINING BALANCE OF THE CONTRACT. Review: In April 2013 I was given a birthday gift from my spouse of a Just Fitness membership at this location. When he was sold this membership he paid for the yearly membership in full and filled out the paperwork. At this time he was never made aware that even if he paid up front for a year in full the yearly fee would auto renew each year unless cancelled. It was apparently in the fine print of the contract that they advise you to just sign when buying the membership. I was never very happy with the gym and did not go very often during this year. In the middle of April 2014 I started receiving phone calls from their contracted national billing company National Fitness threatening me that if I didn't pay my yearly fee they would be sending me to collections within the next few weeks. This was extremely aggravating due to the fact that I never once received a bill, the membership was in my name but I didn't fill out the contract, and no credit card was even on file for them to charge because the membership was paid up front in full. However since they told me that it was on the contract, even though my spouse and I had not been made aware of the automatic renewal, I paid the yearly fee and followed the steps to cancel the account as given to me by the account manager that so rudely kept bothering me from national fitness. I checked the account a few weeks later and it wouldn't pull up an active account at all, so stupidly I believed that they had followed through with my cancellation request and I got rid of my paperwork and point of contact information. Fast forward a year and here we are all over again starting to get phone calls from National Fitness stating that they have no record of my cancellation request or any other issues from the year before, which is quite a shock since they called and bothered me so many times. I also never got a bill before again being threatened with collections. The account manager stated since I have no proof that I cancelled the account and my account as listed to her is still active I can either pay them again and submit my request again or go to collections. This is a joke, not sure how many people they pull this con on every year that don't want their great credit ruined by a company over a $49 yearly fee. I asked how I could be sure that they would actually cancel the account this year after I again request it via phone and certified letter and she stated, "i guess that you will remember to keep your paperwork.", so basically no assurances it would be done this year either and the burden is again on me to fight with them next year at this time, the difference being that I will have a certified letter receipt and letter instead of an assurance from a phone operator, club manager, and an email/letter that clearly never got routed properly by the company.Desired Settlement: The right thing for the business to do would be to return the fee I paid last year for services I did not want or have, and these same ridiculous charges this year for this horrible fitness club with an apology. But the most important way to resolve this situation is to get this "membership" cancelled once and for all IMMEDIATELY and stop having threats of collections for membership that has been cancelled by me multiple times. A business should not be able to treat their customers this horribly. Worst Customer Service Ever.

Review: This is an advertising, billing, and contract problem all in one. I was baited and switched when I joined this gym 2 years ago. Due to the sour taste the owner left in my mouth I refused to set foot in the gym one time. I was so upset that their practices were so unethical. However, I respected my contract and have continued to pay all the fees and monthly dues for 2 years. Driving by the other day I noticed that the gym's name had changed. So I thought..... Perfect opportunity to get out of contract. Well after calling several times and speaking to several different people I realized this is a SCAM. I tired to file a claim online several times. I had to call national fitness to get my account number due to not even having a membership card. I tried 10 times to file claim online even with customer representative, Keanne, walking me through the process. It would not accept my membership number. I was told at that time I could fax or mail to cancel but it would take an additional 30 days to cancel due from receipt. I faxed the following day and asked for confirmation that national fitness received the fax. I never received an email, a call, or any sort of confirmation. I called 13 days later and spoke to a representative by the name of [redacted]. He informed me that I had to mail the letter saying I wanted to cancel and that my contract term was not up. I'm upset with myself that I was so harsh on [redacted] but this is the complete opposite of what the rep before said. The gym is not even owned by the same people. It is interesting because after I signed up I did a google search and realized that there were tons of complaints of constantly overcharging and not letting people cancel there contracts even after the contract is up. THIS IS A SCAM.Desired Settlement: Ideally I would like my money back for the 2 years contract. $10.70 a month for 2 years and the additonal 70 dollars they charged in 2013 and 2014 in July. And most importantly CANCEL MY CONTRACT and QUIT CHARGING ME!

I have been a member for about 3 years now. When my husband and I signed on we were told that they had a package that included childcare at any Just Fitness facility that offered childcare. Now that a a childcare facility has been added to our location I asked at the gym if I would be able to bring my child and was told yes that is in my membership agreement and they would honor the agreement and I would not be charged. I caled the gym yesterday to verify that this was correct and I would not be charged and I was told again that I could bring my child at no charge. When I got to the gym today I was told that I would have to pay $30 a month to have my child go to the childcare facility. I was purposely deceived into signing on for a more expensive membership. Had I known that I would not be able to take my child to the childcare facility I would have purchased the least expensive membership.
