Dear [redacted] : Please accept our apologies for the difficulties you experienced in attempting to make your loan paymentsWe have reviewed your account and attempts to contact the credit union, and updated your account internally to reflect that your account was paid as agreed and remove the two late payments from your credit bureau reportThis was done on [redacted] ***, perhaps at your previous request? The SF Police Credit Union operates in compliance with all state and federal lending regulations, and takes complaints of any type of discrimination very seriously, specifically the Equal Credit Opportunity and Fair Credit Reporting Acts, does and always will work for the benefit of all of our
members regardless of race, gender, ethnicity or other prohibited factor
Additionally, the Credit Union has a long standing practice of reporting our consumer loans and credit lines to a single credit bureauThe credit bureau we report to is ***There is no legal or regulatory requirement for the Credit Union to report to more than one bureau An investigation into her *** report clearly shows that the Credit Union has been reporting, and continues to report, on all of her loans accurately - to *** only Any alert that the member purportedly received about her credit report was not the result of any improper action by the Credit Union
Because the member has also filed a substantively similar complaint with the California Department of Business Oversight (DBO), our primary regulatory authority, we will be specifically addressing the allegations made in this complaint directly to the member through them, as requiredThe Credit Union is barred from sharing the details of that response due to privacy regulations, however, the member/consumer may do so at their option

I must admit I am terribly disappointed in their responseI find it un coincidental that once they had a copy of my credit report the items were removed from the credit reportI will seek legal advice because this is something new that their saying because if you ask them did they pull the reports then the answer is yesRegardless of their new policy I was grandfathered under the old policyI demand that they put the reports back otherwise I'll be filing a discrimination suit against themI m also going on the news to tell the public how they treat long-term members when their services are not used

[redacted] filed this same complaint with the California Department of Business Oversight (our primary regulator) earlier this year. The Credit Union formally replied to his complaint directly to him and the Department on August 8th, [redacted]. I cannot provide you a copy of the letter to [redacted]...

for privacy reasons, however, I can summarize that: The Credit Union recognized its error, corrected it, and at no time was any negative reporting made to the credit bureaus. We also apologized for the error and advised him to contact us directly if he had any future concerns. The payment he is questioning is showing on his August statement as being back dated. We are a bit confused why [redacted] is now reaching out to you to complain when we addressed it prior to even being advised of the issue and responded promptly to the inquiry by the DBO. Perhaps he never received our letter or any follow up from the DBO? I would be happy to share that correspondence with you with [redacted] permission.
