The water was standing before we started the job. Tree that already fell on ground must have busted water line before we started.

I am rejecting this response because: As I stated I'm the one who pointed out that the yard was still wet from heavy rains & winds which brought the tree down. It is correct that I pointed out where the water meter was & told them to avoid this area by utilizing chain saws. Furthermore, it's more than co-incidental that I lost all water pressure to the house only after the work was completed. I'd like to re-iterate that I was told that they did not damage the water line after the fact. It is my opinion that all of this could have been avoided if [redacted]'s workers had followed directions after the water meter was pointed out to them or even asked to do it after giving the ground sufficient time to dry. The disclosure in fine print was never mentioned even after I pointed out the the ground was still wet from the previous storm which would have been moot point if they had performed the task of removing the tree as requested. Albeit speculation, the only reason that I can possibly think for utilizing the Bob Cat is rushing to complete a simple job in order to get to another as I was told that the storm had damaged many trees throughout the area. For these reasons I feel that [redacted]'s Tree Service is at fault by choosing 'shotty work' in this instance.
Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because: Water was standing in the yard due to a heavy rain on Tues. 10/7/14. I spoke...
to Ricks's on Wed. & informed him that the ground was saturated & his response was he couldn't get to it until Friday. He then called me on Thurs. 10/9/14 & said they could do the job., As stated earlier, I spoke with to 2 gentleman doing the job & explained what I wanted done. The ground was still wet from Tues & I toled where the water meter was. If the water line had been broken for 2 day my drainage ditch would have been full, not to mention that I wouldn't have any water in the house. The tree was split down the middle with only half laying down. If the tree had been cut with a chain saw as requested the water line would never have been broken. I still have tracks in the yard to show the patch of the bob-cat used.If [redacted] Tree Service cannot see the fault is on his crew then I'd like to include $900.00 plumbing costs to repair & clear the water lines of silt as well as the pending water utility bill from MWD. In addition I'd like to add that where the water line was broken is at least 4' from the stump & tjhe tracks of the bob-cat lead straight to it.Thank You
Sincerely,
