RE:[redacted]
January 17, 2014
As Mr. [redacted] stated in his complaint,he requested a certificate of certification for his roof that could be submitted to his mortgage company and he did not intend to have any work done. He was informed in advance that the report which required us to send someone out to the home to inspect the roof, create a report and take pictures would cost $150, which Mr [redacted] agreed to.
Upon inspection,we found the roof was in unsatisfactory condition and was in need of replacement. Mr. [redacted] was given a certification as to the condition of the roof which included photos and a bill for
$150.
Mr. [redacted] requested that we supply him with a certification for his mortgage company stating the roof would be good for five years. JVR Contracting Inc will not supply a report which misrepresents the condition of the roof/structure for the purpose of obtaining a loan.
As a courtesy,we also gave Mr. [redacted] an estimate for the repair of the roof. When Mr [redacted] emailed us on November (email attached),thinking that we charged him for an estimate,I did attempt to call him to clear the misunderstanding up, I left a message for Mr [redacted] but he never returned my call.
It seems that there was a mistake on our part, both our bill for $150 for the report and the estimate for work needed had the same number. When the report reflected negatively on the co11dition of his roof he seemed upset and wanted me to certify the roof in the current condition. I informed him that Lmder no circumstances could misrepresent the current condition of the roof.
In the interest of resolving this issue JVR will void this bilL
