K-9 Kountry Klub Reviews (4)

I have reviewed the response of the business and it is unacceptable In their response, they basically admit that they have are in error They even admit they are not even licensed In the State of Missouri, animal pet boarder companies need to be registered and follow certain rules and regulations established by the State of Missouri to operate their business in a professional manner I request that this complaint be reopened and the business be held to those standards and accept responsibility (both liability and financial) in this matter

In response to the complaint about ***First off, we are sorry to hear of her passingDespite the allegations and accusations, we respectfully send our condolences to the family. My wife *** did schedule and talk to the family about boarding dogsI handle all the filings and paperwork for the
businessI did not renew our license for boarding last time the inspector came around because we were contemplating moving to IndianaObviously we did not move, and I did not renew with the USDA, it was an oversight on my partMy wife assumed that we were still licensed and continued on as suchWith that being said, my wife abided by the USDA rules at all timesShe was not intentional in misleading these customers or any others as far as that goes. When *** and *** came, *** showed the usual nervousness that most first time dogs showShe had diarrhea the first minutes of being hereWe have a large yard that is fenced in where the dogs run freely throughout the day for exercise and bathroom breaksWe usually are not in a habit of watching all the dogs bowel movements, I don't mean that in a disrespectful way, I just want the understanding of several dogs coming and going, and playingI can not say that *** had diarrhea everyday she was hereI do know that she did the first several daysThis was not alarming to us, because over the past years of business and several hundred different dogs in our care, we had seen this numerous timesThe change of their dynamics is to blame in most cases*** was extra skiddish than most dogs and was within feet of her buddy *** at most times on the couch

I have reviewed the response of the business and it is unacceptable.  In their response, they basically admit that they have are in error.  They even admit they are not even licensed.  In the State of Missouri, animal pet boarder companies need to be registered and follow certain rules and regulations established by the State of Missouri to operate their business in a professional manner.  I request that this complaint be reopened and the business be held to those standards and accept responsibility (both liability and financial) in this matter.

At no time did we get alarmed with the activity of [redacted] or her stools. She was active here until the time of going home. We received a phone call about her going to the vet and was there a chance of her getting into anything toxic or poisonous. My wife assured him that we do not keep chemicals down where dogs have access to them. We don't use rodent bait for obvious reasons, too many dogs. We did conduct a search of the house, the basement, and both yards to look for anything that would explain this sickness. We found nothing. We have a bleach water bucket for moping but it is locked in the bathroom. I attempted to call Richard and check on [redacted] a few days after we learned she was sick, I left a message telling him I might have info for the vet. The next evening he called, told me [redacted] was "in and out" at that time. I told him that at least once a week we scrubbed our floors proactively with a chemical cleaner called TP256 Disenfectant, that would be the only chemical [redacted] might of ever been around. I told him I would like to pass this on to his vet and I had the labeling warnings and the jug to take to the vet. He never gave me the vet info or inquired any more about this.  We may not have been licensed by the state at that time but that does not mean that we are negligent. We have always taken pride of the care of animals in our care. We ran the company as if we were licensed, requiring shot records, keeping facility clean and toxic free and safe. The statement about if we were licensed by the USDA that she believes this wouldn't of happened is far from the truth. There is nothing that we would of done differently when their pets were boarded here. We did not tell them their dog was sick when they called to check on them because we didn't think she was sick. I actually sent a text picture of their dogs after he called. As far as we are liars about telling them about any poison when they called is insulting at best.                                                                                                                                                                                                                        We have had hundreds if not thousands of dogs under our care through the years, this is the only case or accusation of neglect. Even one dog dying is too many, we regret this tragedy happened and am sorry for the family. However, there are new dog flu's, there are "cousins" to the parvo virus that the normal shot will not vaccinate against, she could of eaten a small toy, or a handful of other things. We know and attest that she did not get into any chemicals here and was not lethargic in anyway, or showed signs of sickness in way other than the diarrhea which we did not think was that extreme. Just because we weren't licensed does not make us liars, neglectful, or incapable of proving a safe place for dogs. The demand for monies, I would want concrete proof it was our negligence that harmed their dog. We have had many dogs here prior, during and now, under the same conditions, same atmosphere, same everything without a sniffle. So for her vet to "believe" she died of toxins is a good theory, its not proof what it was. I understand her anger and wanting answers, believe me, we are angry too and want answers. In closing again we say we are sorry to the family but we feel we did not neglect your pet.
