Review: This company is a dry cleaning company.

In early January I dropped off a boutique designer suede dress for cleaning (valued at $355.00 + taxes etc) to my regular dry cleaner.

After returning from a 3 week business I went to pick up the item. The store had changed owners.

I learned from the new [redacted] that the dress had been dyed the wrong color during cleaning and they sent it off to be properly dyed black and that it should take about two weeks to receive the garment back. The new [redacted] said he would call in 2 weeks time. He also asked to keep my receipt, which I though sounded strange... and thus I refused as how would I prove I ever dropped off the item. I still have this receipt with me.

The [redacted] never called, so I returned to the store. This time the story changed to the dry cleaners who were contracted to do the service had lost the dress and that in fact it was never dyed wrong.

The [redacted] made a verbal contract that if I could bring proof of the cost of the dress he would reimburse me for the cost.

I returned after another business trip (about one week later) with receipts/documents showing the cost of the dress.

The [redacted] then said he had spoken to his "lawyer" who had advised him he was not responsible to pay for the dress because I had dropped the dress off to the old owners. As he was a new [redacted] he was not responsible for the dress. Obviously this was not true because when he purchased the store he became responsible for all the items in the store. I asked him if he was responsible for all the other clothes when he purchased the store and he said no.

So after making a verbal agreement to pay for the dress with my proof, he later decided he did not need to pay for loss/damage to my item. He also is unwilling to ask the dry cleaning service who his company contracted out for the cleaning to remunerate for the damages. The new [redacted] is saying it is my and the old owners problems. He also refused to refund the money ($14.00) I originally paid to have the garment cleaned.Desired Settlement: I want to be compensated for my loss in either cash or money order for:

The cost of the dress ($355.00).

The cost for the dry cleaning service ($14.00)

I would also like this complaint to be posted about this company if the issue is not resolved.
