K B Transmissions Reviews (3)

I was originally referred to KB & the owner (Kenny) a little over a decade ago. I am in the A/C business & have 3 service trucks. From the first time I had a need for service, up until yesterday when I needed a complete front break R&R (new rotors, new calipers, new bearings & new pads) on one of my trucks, I have always been happy with the service provided me & my company. The pricing is extremely competitive and the service is more than adequate! I have also referred friends, family& business associates to them as well, over the years.

Review: My boyfriend called KB Transmissions for a quote for his truck and my RV on Tuesday July 17th. His truck repair was estimated at $450.00 and my RV estimate was for a tune up was $200.00. We brought our vehicles in together on July 17th and we were each asked filled out our vehicles information and contact information. I specifically told the employee who took our information that I was paying in cash, the estimates we were quoted, and to please call me if the cost was over $200.00 before the work was done to the RV. My boyfriend was called on Thursday the 19th to let him know his truck was done and he had a total of $425.00 for his services done. However, I was never notified that my vehicle was done or let alone that the estimate would almost be double in costs and fees. On Friday, July 20th at 3:43 pm I called KB Transmissions to see what the progress was on my RV. I was told it was done and asked for the total costs but was then placed on hold 3 times before I told them that I would come down to the shop and pay for my RV. When I got to the shop at around 4:45 pm on Friday, July 20th I was initially helped immediately (no other customers in the office) and they told me it was $356.00 when I was quoted $200.00. No one had called me to let me know of the extreme increase in price or to approve this with me the customer who has to pay this amount, let alone to tell me my RV was done. I waited for more than 30 minutes in the office on Friday the 20th to talk with the manager then decided to get up and leave when an employee asks me if my husband is coming to the shop. I told him no and hes not my husband, also that I cant wait any longer, besides I didnt have that much cash at the time. I only bought about $230.00 with me. I had waited about 30 minutes at the shop for a resolution, while others were being helped. I left the shop at around 5:20pm, 20 minutes after their posted closing time. They are open M-F 8-5pm. I left feeling so frustrated that I wouldnt be able to get my RV back until Monday at the earliest and wasnt shocked by how much I was being charge when this is not what I had agreed to! The only time KB Transmissions called me was Friday the 20th at 7:48 pm and 7:50 pm without leaving a message but I had missed the calls because I was already in bed having told them on Friday that I had to work Saturday and Sunday 12+ hours and had an 8.5 hour class on Monday the 23rd. I called from work on Saturday and left a massage for them to call me back and to see if they would work with me and never got a return phone call. I called [redacted], the owner of the shop, on Monday the 23rd at 4:10 pm to see if he could work with me on these unapproved charges and was yelled and told that my asking questions about his shops service/fees was making him mad and that he could take the parts out of my RV and I could have it towed out of here. The RV was running when I brought in! He then stated that I had till 5:00pm today, Monday the 23rd to come and pay $325.00 when I was quoted $200.00 or he would start charging $50.00 a day for having the RV at his shop. I know that $200.00 was a quote, but I asked to be called if it was over this amount for a reason and I was not even called when the vehicle was done. I was very though in this statement and have my phone records if requested to prove this poor communication/service because, as a female customer, taking their vehicle to a mechanics shop, I feel that I was completely taken advantage of by KB Transmissions!Desired Settlement: I would like to let people how I was treated as a female customer of KB Transmissions. For this company to never call me back and for the manager to yell at me for trying to talk to him about how I was treated is not fair. I know I would never get an apology, but it would be nice. It feels terrible to be threatened to have your parts taken out and your vehicle towed away by the owner of the company when I brought my RV in to his shop on running condition! Part of running a business is communication with your customers without being shouted at.I would also like a refund for the work that was done over the $200.00 estimate because this was not approved by me. A total of $125.00. I have my phone records as proof that I was never notified.
