Review: on the 8th of august 2014 I signed a contract for 3 windows that was supposed to be installed on the 15th of the month and completed on the 30th of august. Last week I called the 27th to find out what was going on. The man (i didn't write down his name) (my fault) told me that they would be installed that Friday ,labor day weekend type friday and would be done sat. I said ok and told him that I hadn't had any communication since the 8th of August. I stayed home all weekend to make sure I was here. I called up today the 2nd of september and cancelled the whole contract. The man started to cuss at me and said I couldn't and would be billed anyway or put a lien against my home it was my choice. The cost of the windows and gas and time for the salesman. A company spokesman for the company showed a lack of customer service not to mention the gross language. I want him out of there. I don't want any thing to do with the company or the products and I want the contract voided.Desired Settlement: I simply want the contract voided with no strings attached

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: Company fails to honor Do Not Call List, written Cese and Desist, and false number to bypass call-blocking.

K-designers was told verbally several times to remove my phone number from their call list as I am registered in te national registry. On one occasion the rep on the phone said they were a charity and did not have to. I told them they were a home remodeling company and not a charity. I also told him that even if they were, they are obligated to remove any number upon request. On another occasion, the rep said he would call me back the next day. I said that asking to be removed the list means they cannot call me.

After several more calls, I officially contacted the company through e-mail and asked to be removed. They have tried to contact me three times since. Once at 8:30 p.m. I have placed their number in my phone company's call blocking. They bypassed the Comcast's phone blocking system by spoofing an extra "1" in front of the number.Desired Settlement: 1. The first thing I am requesting from this company is to remove my number from their complete database and any company they use for telemarketing. I have never done business with this company. I would like a written e-mail that this has been done.

2. If the calls continue, I will be seeking the maximum monetary damages under California and Federal telemarketing laws.

Very good work very fast and efficient. Friendly workers and very knowledgeable. Very pleased with my new windows. Would definitely refer k-designers to a friend.

I have done work with K-Designers for the past 18 years. our first project was siding my house back in 1996. our most recent and last project was remodeling my Bathrooms. The Marketing Directors they have sent to me, have always been professional. the installation crews were always respectful of my property, and cleaned up at the end of each day. I have had huge savings on my energy bills. K-Designers is always trying to improve there company, the most recent is in customer service. I talked to a company representative [redacted] who asked how all of my projects are doing, and if there are any issues. I recommend K-Designers to anyone looking to do any remodeling.

I had a great experience with K-Designers. We had new windows installed in our home and the whole process was quick and affordable. We love the updated look to our home and have already noted a savings to our heating bill!

Review: Starting in September of 2013, I have been attempting to get K-Designers in Omaha to come out and repair a caulking issue I have with my tub system they installed in 2012. Shortly after (within 60 days after the install) I noticed the caulking was separating between the tub and the wall surround. They came out and placed a larger bead of caulk between the tub and surround. By September of 2013, this caulk began to show signs of mildew and mold, which I was unable to clean. All of the other caulk joints in the tub area showed no signs of this mold/mildew which made be believe the product they used in the first fix was inferior. For the last 4+ months I have contacted not only the Omaha office a minimum of 3 times, but also their corporate office a minimum of 3 times to get someone out to fix this problem. The times I had spoken on the phone with the corporate office, they promised to get someone out and waive the "fee" (even though I started addressing this within the warranty period), to no avail. This complaint is my next step in addressing this and getting K-Designers to own up to the issue and do what is needed to fix this problem.Desired Settlement: I want K-Designer to come out and replace the caulk between the tub and the surround, at no cost to me, with the appropriate manufacturer's recommended caulking material that is provided by the manufacturer of the acrylic surround and tub. I want this completed within the next 30 days with no more broken promises or excuses.

The business failed to contact me with a follow up as promised and I was unaware of the automatic closure of the original complaint. They had promised to contact me within 10 days of the repair and failed to do so. I had also asked a specific question regarding care of the product that was not responded to.1. They need to follow up with me in regards to proper product care. This was not done.2. Explain as to why there was no follow up conversation as promised.

Business

Response:

The work was completed on March 26, 2014. They replaced the silicone around the tub liner the week of the 10th. Went back on March 26, and customer signed off on completion service/repair order.

Consumer called in to state the issues regarding the windows were addressed. The case is resolved.

Review: The call center from K Designers has repeatedly called my phone despite my asking to be removed from the call list numerous times in the past 12+ mos.

Well over a year ago, we attended a home and garden show in Sacramento. We left our information to be contacted about some remodeling at our home. When the K Designers' call center contacted us initially, we declined the in home estimate and clearly stated that we were NOT going to be doing any remodel at this time and requested that they not stated that we would contact them when we were ready for estimates. We were contacted again that same week and again declined.

Since that time, we have received at least a call a week from the K Designer call center and have, with each call, requested that we be placed on a DO NOT CALL list.

Today, I received yet another call from K Designers. I asked to speak with a call center manager and spoke to "[redacted]" who assured me that I would be placed on the do not call list; as did the last 10-15 call center staff that I spoke to.

Consumers should be aware that when you offer your number for potential in home estimates that K Designers will call you several times a week for over a year. This is excessive and annoying.

After the first call, we would have been more than happy to contact K Designers about a future remodel project. However, since the last year's worth of annoying phone calls, I would only recommend that other consumers not offer their phone number to this business.Desired Settlement: I would like written confirmation that my phone number has been removed from the call center list and that they have formulated and implemented a better system to remove consumer phone numbers when requested. Again, as one point I might have given K Designers a call back for remodeling work, however after the persistent annoying phone calls I will surely be taking my business elsewhere.

Business

Response:

Business' Initial Response

Our policy has always been to follow the "Do Not Call" rules. When a homeowner makes the request to be removed from our call list, we do it. Because we contact over 400,000 homeowners mothly, it is possible that occasionally one person may accidentally be missed. We are not happy if that ever happens, and if we find out about it, we fix it immediately.

We are able to look up the records of calling [redacted] and we found that we had only two conversations with her in the last 15 months. On February 4, 2013 she requested to be placed on our Do Not Call list and we did place her on our list. She has not been called since and won't be unless she re-gives us her phone number and requests that we call her.

Thank you for your help in this matter.

I'm very satisfied with the quality of my new windows.

My dealing with K-Designers has been a excellent experience. The person visiting my home knew the product line very well. The financing they offered was understandable and below market rates. The installation process was perfect.

Review: Not correctly installed, cold air coming thru, also not sealed with caulk on inside the window. They did replace two windows finally that took 5 months. The guy that came to put the two windows in said they were not properly insulated around the inside of the window under the trim, which was causing them to leek cold air. They have been contacted by myself on several occasions and have excuses on why they can't come to properly install them.Desired Settlement: I would like at least half of what I paid back since they won't fix properly.

Business

Response:

Dear Revdex.com:

We have an appointment on Friday, March 7th, and are planning to blow-in foam around the windows.

Thank you.

Business

Response:

We tried last week to contact her last week but haven’t been successful yet to set an appointment. We will keep trying. When we make do make contact hopefully today ortomorrow, we would like to set the appointment for Wednesday, March 12.

We will keep Revdex.com informed.

Review: In 2008 I had a sales person come to my door saying I was specially selected for there promotional/advertisement house for vinyl siding and windows. Being in the Air Force I agreed to have them replace my aluminum windows. I was hesitant at first and the sales person assured me that there is a lifetime and a half warranty and I will never have to worry about them again. By accident, two of the windows became broken in May of 2014. I called K-designers in early June to get the windows fixed. After several unanswered calls I finally reached the National HQ and the operator gave me [redacted] ####-###-#### on or around 8-15-2014. When I called him he was upset that she had given me his number then I explained the situation to him and he asked for the sizes of the windows broken. I called him back with the measurements of the broken windows. He then said he would call to schedule an appointment. And that was the last contact I had for months. We called several times a month leaving messages and texting [redacted]. Then about a week ago a thief broke into our home by shattering a 3rd window and to top it off it is winter here. So for a week straight both my wife and I called the customer service line everyday only getting a voice mail which we left messages that went unanswered. Finally yesterday we reached a person in California named [redacted]. And then [redacted] called us back with the number for Colorado. It wasn't until there was a threat of a complaint on Revdex.com that they returned any of our calls. Now they want us to pay them $150 to come measure our windows and then wait a month for them to arrive and then pay an additional $67/ hour to install the windows. We paid over $7,000 for 7 windows. And have tried getting these fixed for 6 months. Their treatment/customer services is disgusting and I would never recommend them to anybody! I have never seen a company dodge a customer the way they have. It is completely disrespectful!Desired Settlement: I would like it if the company actually treated their customers as people and not just a sale. They were all about us when we were buying the windows, but as soon as the sale was done, the company's customer service just disappeared. I do not think it is right that I should pay them to fix windows that they out right avoided fixing for 6 MONTHS!

Business

Response:

We are going to the customers house tomorrow to inspect the broken windows and take measurements so we can order the new glass. We are not charging the $150.00 inspection fee. And will advise once the glass comes in and is installed.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: the Windows are not replaced yet. A man named Roger came out and measured the window. We were told that they will order the windows and then they will come out to install them. They did not charge the $150 inspection fee. It is our understanding that when they come back to install the Windows we will pay the $67 / hour labor fee.

Business

Response:

The windows are on order, we should receive them this week or next. Because of the holidays manufacturers are delayed on our orders. The soonest we can take care of the windows we will do so.

Review: Charged five times the going rate for a new garage door and entry door. I am a small senior citizen with poor health. I live alone.

Salesmen came to my home to sell me on their garage door that they said would be automatic with remote, and a new more secure front entry door. I did not know how much this should cost.

They installed a manual operating door that can't be opened from the outside and charged me $5,303.50 for it.

I feel they saw and old lady that was not up on pricing and decided to rip me off by charging 5 times what this should cost.Desired Settlement: I only wish to be sold the automatic, remotely controlled garage door that I chose for a fair and equitable price. Other dealers sell their powered doors for under $1,00.00

To: Revdex.com

We contracted with [redacted] on January 23, 2013 to furnish and install our premium garage door with Sunburst glass and our America's Dream Series Premium Entry Door with Sunburst glass, frame and a complete unit. We remove and haul away the old doors, jams and frames when installing the new doors.

We installed the new garage door on February 20th and she signed a completion form indicating everything was fine and that she was happy. We returned on March 4th to install our custom built entry door unit and she refused to let our installers start that installation. Our entry door units are a premium custom built unit that is made by a company in Tacoma, Washington and was shipped to our office/warehouse in Salt Lake City, Utah. This door unit will only fit properly in Ms. [redacted]'s home because it is custom made to fit her front door entry opening.

Our Salt Lake city Manager had an appointment to meet her at her home on March 7th to resolve her concerns and she cancelled that appointment. Our manager has tried to contact her by phone four times with no new appointment yet to meet her. Our manager will try to visit her today. By Utah law, we must file an Intent to Lien for non-payment today, which is ten (10) days since working on the home.

We obtained a loan for Ms. [redacted] at her request and that increased our cost. Please see enclosed a pricing breakdown that our manager is prepared to give to her at her request. Our pricing is fair for the quality of products that we sell. We only sell the highest quality products and if people try to get the lowest price, they have to purchase low quality products.

In this case, we are half completed with the installations and we have a custom door unit that can't be returned.

We will do everything we can reasonably do to resolve this case. As soon as we meet with Ms. [redacted], we will respond to the Revdex.com.

Thank you,

[redacted] D. [redacted], President/CEO

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

This is a business that is partnering with a legitimate charity to shield themselves from having to comply with the Do Not Call List at the Federal and State level. If it is not illegal, it is certainly unethical.

They should abandon this practice. If one looks at the internet, there are a lot of sites talking about the BUSINESS-related robo calls this business is placing, hiding behind their charitable sponsorship to justify it.

In fairness, they DID remove me from their call list, but I want them to comply with the Do Not Call List. These folks are rated A + by Revdex.com and I would say their actions make that rating by the Revdex.com highly questionable, and I would hope you would look at that.

Yesterday, Thursday, January 24, Mr. [redacted] finally made contact with Ms.[redacted], at a number that works. Per conversation with Mr. [redacted] and Ms. [redacted], an appointment has been set for Monday, January 28 to go to her home and meet with her.

We will be able to respond to the Revdex.com by Tueday next week on the outcome of the meeting with her.

Thank you for your help.

Consumer's Final Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

I do not agree with the amount that is in question. I reiterate that there were no energy upgrades installed in my home, and that the loan opened in my name with View Tech financial is either fraudulent or in gross error. There was only exterior paint applied to my home. I have had the exterior paint job on my home appraised from approximately 4,200 to 4,500 dollars. No where near the amount that K Designers is trying to collect. I have already submitted the contract agreement to Revdex.com. There was never a contract agreement entered into for any energy upgrades, just exterior paint.

Business' Final Response

The following letter was sent to the customer:

April 5, 2013

Dear Sherrie Gray,

This is my third letter to you requesting that you allow me to come to your home and meet with you to discuss your questions. I feel that it is only fair that you allow me to inspect your home and then meet with you. I can bring our paperwork so we can review it together.

For your understanding, I want to remind you of the product that we installed on your home was not paint. The product is a coating product that is installed differently than paint and performs different than paint. It has a lifetime warranty and is much more expensive than paint and goes on three times thicker than paint.

I don't know if there is something else that I can do for you, however I am willing to meet with you at your home and discuss everything with you. I am fine with you having a third party present if you wish. Please let me know what time and day would work for you and I'll try to fit that time in to my schedule. Final Consumer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

K Designer's call center did not identify themselves as a charitable organization. They identified themselves as a home remodeler which does not exclude themselves from the DNC registry. If this company is concealing themselves under the guise of a charity in order to promote their actual business then more investigation needs to be done.

I find it strangely amusing that their call center informed me that it could take up to 30 days to have my telephone number removed from their call list. Yet Mr. [redacted], under pressure, informs me that it has now been paced on their internal Do Not Call list. How many other consumers have to endure the constant calling because they didn't know where to turn? There are actual internet chat rooms that exist just to discuss the non-stop calling from this company.

I accept K Designer's resolution. However, something still smells with this company.

Review: My husband has had 12 strokes This company calls & sets up appointments with sales reps. I asked to be removed from the list highly unethical practic

I work during the day and cannot monitor the phone calls. My husband has had heart surgery and 12 strokes. The representative who calls tells him that I have spoken to them in the past and they have permission from me to call during the day. They have sent 2 sales reps to my house in the last 2 months even after I have made numerous phone calls asking to be removed from the list. I live in Sioux City but this company is listed in another city. I am not sure, but I thing the sales reps come from Omaha, Ne. I have a block on my phone, but once he talks to them, they can continue to call. I don't know what else to do. When I call their 800 # that appears on my caller ID, it just goes to voice mail after a short conversant. the # is 800 128 3902. I have been contacted by a person named [redacted] from this business. Her phone # is XXXXXXXXXX. She has assured me this will not happen again and that she has removed me from their calling list. I would like the complaint to go forward, so those in charge can pull the calls and review their practices. They need to have follow up on this so it does not continue with others. If it happened to me 3 times, I'm sure they do this to others. Thank you for your quick response.

Review: Failing to provide replacement siding for extreme fading when siding was sold as Lifetime Maintenance Free.

May'12-called K Designers to complain that their Lifetime/Maintenance Free siding had faded extensively in just over three years on the south side of house.

Called on 5/21 and again 5/23 at which time I received a response that my messages were forwarded to [redacted] Stone to send out the warranty packet. I received a letter dated 5/23/12 and packet of info from [redacted], Warranty Services Div. asking for 4 items.

I mailed the packet to [redacted] including a personal letter outlining each of the 4 items required in their letter by certified mail.

I followed up on 6/27 w/K-Designers via phone. I was told my claim did not include samples (which was not a requirement in their letter) & the pictures were not adequate to determine the claim. I was also told they did not receive their form (which I had included in the packet behind my letter). I told her I had copies of everything resent them via email on 6/27. 6/28 [redacted] responded that she had forwarded all the info to [redacted] and that she had contacted [redacted] in Omaha to have someone take a sample as I indicated I was not knowledgeable or capable of taking a sample nor would I allow a piece to be removed without another piece to replace the sample piece.

I followed up again on 7/22 per email to [redacted] responded on 7/23 that she was following up with [redacted]. After another 2 weeks I sent [redacted] another email on 8/10/ that I was following up again.

On 8/13, I received a call from [redacted] indicating that [redacted] had not received the samples or their form letter. I informed her that the form letter was part of the packet of info I sent (they lost the form) & I had also re-sent via email 6/27. I reiterated that if they need a sample, they need to come and remove it and replace it. I did not install the siding & they cannot expect a normal customer to remove a piece of siding & replace it, and if they were unable to do so, then they need to send an adjuster. At that time, she conferenced [redacted] on call & talked to Susie S. It was agreed during the call that [redacted] would have a rep (Josh Schaefer) in Iowa the end of August & would be in contact with me to stop to get a sample.

9/6, I contacted [redacted] at K-Designers (Omaha office) and indicated, it was now after August and I had not heard from anyone at [redacted] to pick up a sample. I called again on 9/24 and left a message with [redacted] that again, I had not heard anything. [redacted] called & indicated they would have a rep ([redacted]) in Des Moines on 9/28 to stop & get a sample. [redacted] did stop & took a piece of siding & replaced it with a new piece. [redacted] even admitted to excessive fading in discussion that the siding is supposed to have color technology to withstand the sunlight and also indicated, that I would have never been able to pull a sample especially w/o the tool he had used. After another 4 weeks w/no communication, I again followed up with [redacted] on 10/22. [redacted] indicated he would find out have someone contact me the next day. On 11/1, after not hearing back the status as promised, I called again. [redacted] indicated they were still waiting for the status from [redacted] and that they were backlogged. I again, expressed my concern of the entire process. On 11/20, I received a letter dated 11/16/12 that the claim was denied due to "no manufacturer defects covered by warranty".

This is supposed to be NO MAINTENANCE/LIFETIME siding which was how it was sold and represented in K-Designer's brochure that never requires painting. So how can they claim LIFETIME when it doesn't last more than three years...this is clearing false advertising and if there product is so poor quality to not withstand normal Iowa climate (especially no longer than three years), K-Designers should not be allowed to do business in Iowa.Desired Settlement: Siding should be replaced on south side of home where extensive fading has occurred since the siding was sold as "Lifetime Maintenance free" that "will never need painting". OR the cost of the entire siding contract should be refunded so that I can replace all of the siding with same type/color with a different vendor if they are not honoring their Lifetime warranty as if they don't honor this claim, what about if there is a next time.
