Windows look great and installation was quick.

I have windows installed at my home from k-designers and they are the best investment I have ever made! I save on my energy bill and stay comfortable all year long.

Review: K-Designers guarantees their windows. After they installed my windows, I called on 13 Aug 2014 the local office number ([redacted])to complain about the windows. I was told that a ticket would be submitted. On 09 Sep 2014, I follow-up on my call since no one had replied. At that time, I spoke with Jason who asked me to call Headquarters and make this report to [redacted]). On this date I left [redacted] a message. Upon finally reaching [redacted] at the beginning of Oct, I was told that a ticket would be issued and that, given the short lapse in time, that K-Designers would address the problem right away. They have never responded. The windows are scratched and have distorted glass.Desired Settlement: I would like the windows replaced.

Business

Response:

On rare occurrences the glass will come in with scratches that are not noticed until after the installation. We will check to see if we have ordered new glass to replace the glass, if not we will do so right away, it takes about 10 days to receive the glass from the manufacturer. But we will replace them to the customers satisfaction and notify you as soon as it is completed. Should be within approximately 2 weeks. We will also notify the customer right away.

Review: When the sales manager [redacted] showed up at our door unannounced, we listen to him even though we were not prepared for discuss the windows that we are looking to replace. I normally get at least 3 quotes on any project I am looking to do. The sales manager measured all windows to give us a quote. We set up an appointment with the agreement that I was just looking to get a quote; I had military duty coming up on the weekend that he wanted to come back. I was hesitant because I had gotten notice that I may not have a job come October, due to budget cuts, and I was very clear on that. When he showed to give us our quote, their numbers were very high and I told him I cannot do this project at those prices. He was very persistent and downright pushy and would not take no for an answer. Finally it was decided that we would look at replacing 1 window and it was pending on a meeting with one of my supervisors on the weekend of 2-3 May. I reluctantly agreed to let him know by the following Monday what the decision would be based on my meeting. I got back and called a person back to let him know that my job would not be guaranteed past October and could not do the project. Over a month lapsed before we heard anything. He has now been harassing and threatening my wife now that I am away on my two week annual training. This I will not tolerate and if he steps foot in my house I will have him arrested. This has been the worst experience with this company, I will never conduct business with company ever again. This is predatory salesmanship.Desired Settlement: This was a tentative agreement on something that I was coersed into signing. I thought it was clear that I would not be able to go through knowing that my job may be in jeopardy. I may have to resort to legal counsel.

Review: Defective window: Condensation of window installed by K Designers in May 25, 2001.- April 14, 2015: called customer service to report problem- [redacted] from customer service e-mailed us a Service Authorization form- Completed form and took pictures of defective window and emailed completed form and pictures the next day- Waited 1 1/2 months with no response- Called again May 29, 2015 and 3 weeks later a contractor came over to check the window, took a picture and measurements and left. No communication afterwards.- June 10 - called customer service again and [redacted] referred another number to call to schedule window service.- Called the number same day (1-916-469-3408) and left a message. No response.Desired Settlement: It has been two months since we have been communicating with K-Designers to come service the defective window that they had installed May 25, 2001. There is no attempt to follow-up on the service authorization nor schedule window service.K-Designers needs to follow through and schedule window service and replacement of defective window, if needed. We have no feedback or idea what nor when this is to be done and are left hanging. Please schedule and give definitive date and time.

After we measured the window, we were waiting for the glass to come in from the manufacturer. The glass came in and we just finished the instal today. According to our Production Manager the customer is satisfied.

Review: This company does not follow the National Do Not Call registry, and repeatedly cold-calls people. I have received three calls from them in the last two days despite having never had any interactions with this company. The calls come from 800-728-3902, which is their phone number listed on their home page: http://www.k-designers.com/home.asp (top-right corner under "Call Today").When I did a Google search for the phone number, I found that many other people have the same complaint, namely that this company has called them unsolicited despite them being on the DNC registry. Some reports mention that the representatives have been rude and openly acknowledged they are not following the DNC registry. This sort of sales tactic is not appropriate, nor is it a good business practice.Desired Settlement: K Designers displays the Revdex.com Accredited Business logo on their home page. They knowingly violate the Do Not Call registry, which is a bad business practice. Either they need to stop calling people on the DNC registry, or they should lose their Revdex.com accreditation.

Review: Misrepresented themselves as a charity and violated state and Federal no call list.

Although I'm on the state and federal No Call list, K Designers called me and stated they were working with a charity in some other country and proceeds from their home improvements are going to charity, so they don't need to follow no call listings. Rep came over and used high pressure tactics to make a sales presentation. He couldn't explain why I was contacted in violation of no call; and didn't have details on the "charity" they worked with.Desired Settlement: I want no further contact with this company and I want an alert put out regarding their sales tactics.

Business' Initial Response

Dear Mr. [redacted]:

We listened to the call we made to you and we explained about the call for a charity and you set an appointment with us for remodeling your home. When we arrived at your home you said you changed you mind and so no estimate was given and the appointment was cancelled. We are not sure why you are upset now.

We have followed all the laws and the proper procedures. Had you asked us to remove you from our calling list, we would have done so immediately. We only know that it is your desire because of the note to the Revdex.com that we received today. Today your phone number has been place on our internal Do Not Call list.

If you have any questions, please contact me at (800) XXX-XXXX ext. 6703.

Review: Failure to re-attach piece of fascia on the house after a commitment to do so
We previously had soffits and fascia put on by K- DesignIn January, 2013, we had about a five-feet piece of fascia that was blown off in a winter stormI had first called in February to inquire about getting it re-attached (I have the piece)I was told that "If we (K-Design) put it on, then we'll get it back up"I did not hear back for about a monthI called again and was told that they would come out "sometime" and put the piece back onAgain, I waitedThis time, it was about three weeks before I called backFor the third time as well, I was told that they would come out, possibly that night, although that did not happenApproximately another three weeks go byThis time, I receive an estimate in the mail of an $labor charge and a $trip charge if I wanted the job completed
I have been patient on this ordeal and understand that I may not be a high priorityHowever, I was told that it would be re-attached without any of the chargesI don't think I'm any different than any other person and feel that it probably would be better business practice to explain any charges up front.Desired Settlement: This would be maybe a 15-minute job with the right ladder and toolsI don't have a problem paying the labor cost, but I'm not willing to pay the $trip charge

K-Designers What a GREAT Company to work with. Fantastic Product and Service, We had a Bathroom Redone, it came out GREAT. The person who did all the work was Great, Very Professional, Courteous and always respectful of my property, cleaned up at the end of each day. We will recommend them to anyone that wants work done on their home.

Want to thank everyone for the wonderful service and the quality of the workmanship that we received when remodeling our home with siding. We were told that the work could be completed within a week after all of the paperwork was signed and approved. After discussing the energy savings and the added value to the house we decided K-Designers was right for us and decided to go ahead. The workers started on Friday morning and worked through the weekend to make sure they would be done by Tuesday. The installers left the yard just like or probably cleaner than when they started. I am very impressed with the quality of the workmanship and the products that K-Designers users and especially how courteous everyone was. They treated our home like it was their own. Since the siding has been complete we have had a few of our neighbors come over and comment about how fast and efficient the contractors worked, how clean the job site always was, and how amazing the house looked with the new siding. K-Designers is a quality company and we would recommend them to anyone needing work done.

I worked with k-designers on my house 3 years ago anit was a very simple process. I first met with [redacted] and he worked with me on a 24 window package for my home he made it simple and made sure the crew doing install was top notch. I have saved money every month energy bill. Very happy with total experience

Review: Harassing advertising phone call by a very persistent phone sales person who refused to take me off their phone calling list. She stated they did not have to because they were a charitable business and that they were registered with the states attorney as such. She proceeded to hang up on me.Desired Settlement: Stop their unsolicited phone calls and harassing phone calls to my home. If I wanted their products I would contact them. Review: These people are continually calling my phone number. The phone rings a couple of times but there is no one there when I answer the phone.

These phone calls keep waking my husband, who is in hospice care and close to death.

I called them back, and spoke to "[redacted]" who claimed to be their head of marketing. They are trying to claim that they are not violating the no-call list because they do some charity. I told them that I have been a nonprofit director for 30 years and would never resort to their tactics. "[redacted]" said that "different businesses run differently".Desired Settlement: Shut these people down. They have no conscience.

At absolute minimum, if the Revdex.com accreditation means anything at all, you should not be providing that to a company that is under government investigation.

Dear Ms. [redacted]:

We apologize for any inconvenience our marketing program may have caused you, and placed your phone numer on our internal "Do Not Call" list. However, we are registered with the State of Colorado to call on behalf of Building Youth Around the World. In the past year we have raised over $30,000.00 to help young people. Most people are unaware of this statue but I assure you that we are abiding by the statutes of the State of Colorado. As I've said before, your number has been placed on our Do Not Call list. Be aware, that other people registered with the State of Colorado to co-venture with a charity for fundraising, may call you. If you wish to be removed from their calling list you would need to make that request.

We again apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused you. Once we have removed your phone number from our list, you should not receive any more communication from K-Designers in the future, however if you do please do not hesitate to call me so I may review the situation and resolve it immediately.

Consumer's Final Response

Removing my number from their call list is not sufficient. This company needs to be stopped from its long-known, widespread and abusive telemarketing calls.

Even if I took their claim that they were making a call to raise funds for a charity at face value, that call to my number on 7/17/13 was illegal. The Colorado Secretary of State web site shows that K-Designs/Judson Enterprises's registration as a fundraiser allowed to solicit funds in Colorado was suspended on 6/28/2013. Please see: http://www.sos.state.co.us/ccsa/ViewSummary.do?ceId=XXXXXX.

I have referred the email from K-Designs claiming that they were raising charitable funds to the Colorado Secretary of State for investigation.

The claims of raising funds for a charity are a thinly veiled ruse to get around Do Not Call registrations. There is no way that I and others across the country should be getting fundraising calls for a tiny nonprofit in Utah ($34,000 in revenue in 2011) that was started as an Eagle Scout project.

I hope that whatever government action is in progress shuts these people down.

Business' Final Response

Dear Ms. [redacted]:

I am sorry you are upset. We have done what you have requested and removed your number from our calling list and placed it on our Internal "Do Not Call" list. Review: He (Marty) kept using the amount of $8,000.00 every time he mentioned putting on the siding, windows (3) and 3 storm doors and by time he got done. They charged me over $54,000.00 for the job on my 2 bedroom small house & garage one of the interest charged was 15.99% which is as much as my credit cards. He called and made all the loan all I did was send a small sheet of paper signed in to pay K-Designers. I was in the process at the time what was wrong with me and was on pain pills and by the time I found out I had bladder cancer they were done with the job and I was in surgery and fighting for my life when I got out of the hospital I was already late on payments and can not catch up.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the bill cut in half at least. Thank you.

Consumer's Final Response

Im sorry that I did not get this to you by March 22 2013 but I have been busy with fighting my bladder cancer. do not accept K Designers way of settling this problem. He has wreaked my credit which has excellent all of my life. It is embarrassing He wants to charge me to put a new roof on my house and lump the 59,000.00 on a home loan. His siding was not supposed to cost me that much He told me 8,000.00 for the siding 6,000.00 for the soffits (eves) and he said I had 8,000.00 credit and the window doors and purga would not cost me anything

thank you for your consideration in this matter

Review: I purchased Windows and a patio slider from this company, CA lic #[redacted] and have had problems with the same one window ever since. they sent someone out one time that only pushed the piece back that had fallen out. after years of this stupid fix I called again and spoke with a [redacted] who said she was natl prod manager. she said if I were to email her a picture she could expidite perhaps replacing the defective window as I requested. I did email her the pictures back in May and left a couple follow up phone messages with no response from anyone. I want my money back for that window or it replaced.Desired Settlement: I want a new window or a refund.

We have set an appointment with the homeowner for Wednesday, October 8 to determine if this is a manufacturers warranty issue, or installation issue.

We should be able to respond to Revdex.com on Thursday, October 9th with results from the appointment.

Thank you.

Review: K-Designers vinyl siding did not save us any money on the utilities bills. "BENEFIT AT ALL" Called several times for them to come out about a whole the left in the inside of our house they said that wasn't due to their work. The vinyl siding is falling apart and its creepy. People get scared when he push our door bell because the wall sinks in. They lied about special discounts.Desired Settlement: I would like them to remove this crap off my house and put stucco or paint.

Business

Response:

K-Designers spoke to Mrs. Smith on Tuesday, June 10th. She called us in 2010 with a need of a service call. We explained to her in 2010 that the product is warranteed for life, but the labor (installation) was for 1 year (which, is a state requirement). We explained to her that we have a small inspection fee to go out and look at their home. She refused to agree to the service inspection fee and decided not to go ahead.

The original installation was in 2008. She did not call us since 2010. Now we get the complaint from the Revdex.com. When we contacted her on Tuesday, June 10th, we again explained the small inspection fee because the 1 year labor warranty was at 2 years in 2010 and now is 6 years since the installation. She used bad language and hung up on our service technician.

We will call her on Friday, June 13th to arrange the inspection and waive the fee. We will let you know when we have resolved this complaint. It will probably be 10 days to 2 weeks because we have to send a service technician from Sacramento to Rialto, Ca near Los Angeles.

Review: The company called my phone, which is on the DO NOT CALL list and left rude comments about my last name.

The sales rep apparently wasn't smart enough to realize he was talking to an answering machine till he was over half way through his spiel and asking for a response. He must of thought he hung up but did not and then went on to make rude comments about my last name of [redacted] saying he would get a name change because no one was going to call him Mr. [redacted] anything. I called the local office and was told it would be looked into but did not really get a satisfactory response from their so called Marketing Director.Desired Settlement: A letter of apology for the rude comments left on my home answering machine by their ill trained, disrespectful employee. I also think that if they are a reputable business they would not be cold calling numbers on the Do Not Call list.
