Review: Having problems with front door. Almost a year later and door is not functioning. No response from company after many calls.

K Designers installed a front door in our home on Oct. 2011. We found several examples of shoddy work after close examination of the door. Sink nails not covered, molding not properly placed around facinf and recently in thw last couple of months, the door would not close properly. We have to push weight against the door to open and close it.

Additional work done; replacement of siding on part of our house. Wires left hanging outside the house. Contractor told us that he worked with what he had and couldn't do anything about it.

We were told that the sales representive , [redacted], had been fired and no longer employed with the company.

Contract price $7,784.03, Account # XXXXXXXXXX, monthly payment $152.71. Method of payment have been checks and online banking.Desired Settlement: Would like K. Designers to fix front door and wiring hanging outside the house properly.

If they will not fix the problems, then we feel we should receive pro-rated refunds on work done.

Great company to work with! Fantastic product and service. Just had three windows installed perfectly! Looks great and adds value at the same time. Thanks!!!

My Experience with K-Designers was great from the start. working with[redacted], one of their marketing Directors was amazing. [redacted] was very professional and helpful. the Install crew were very professional and respectful, they cleaned up every day. I would advise anyone looking to remodeling to contact K-Designers.

Review: One day we received a phone call asking if we needed a window repair, and I said yes. She said well we have a salesman in your area can we make an appointment for you? So I said yes.

So [redacted] arrived and started to talk with us. He led us to believe that he worked through Costco who has a very good reputation. Because of this I believed him and trusted him. I also gave him my Wells Fargo Credit card and in so doing he told me to go to the customer service desk to get an updated Costco card, and they did not know him or know what kind of card we needed, and $100 charge came through our credit card bill.

At the end of appointment we signed for 3 windows and a shower in the amount of $17,882.03. This amount was turned over to Sky collection agency. We paid in full.

[redacted] assured us that we would receive points (2700-2800) to be used on our house repairs through them. We have not received the points as of 1-26-14.

The window installers, were good, but should have left on our windows papers explaining what kind of window they are. We know this because we went to Home Depot to order four more windows like the one put in by installer.

Also the installer for the shower did a wonderful job.Desired Settlement: [redacted]Please See Attached Documents[redacted]

We hope that this pushy-type of salesman can be stopped from taking advantage of elderly people anymore. We would like to receive the promised points of (2700-2800) to be used on our house repairs through them.

Dear Revdex.com:

The customer is satisfied with work done. We installed a sink & faucet for them, and are sending them a dividend certificate to use towards future purchases.

Thank you.

Consumer

Response:

The company stated "Customer is satisfied with work done" and "We are sending them a dividend certificate to use towards future purchases". Which we don't understand the letter with it said that it had to be used by Jan 2013. We received the letter in Feb 2014, We have to call about all of this. The workers were hard workers. The salesman was a pusher and a little untrue or misleading.

Business

Response:

Mr. [redacted] was called by our Branch Manager in Portland. We are sending Mr. [redacted] a new Dividend Certificate, and he seemed to understand, and was okay with that.

Thank you.

Review: Researched K-designers online, decided to cancel appt.called # & kept hearing same recording for each ext cust serv ext gave wrong #.

Recieved call from K-designers, told that they were working with low-income families to make their home more energy efficient. Sales pitch sounded good - scheduled appt. Another call came in the afternoon making sure we had enough money to cover at least 50% of the project. Researched K-designers online - numerous complaints & government action. Tried to call & cancel appt. For every extension that I chose, I heard the same recording. Finally, tried customer service number. I was given the wrong number. I am concerned that a company that gives such a strong sales pitch that I couldn't even reach anyone to cancel an appt. with.Desired Settlement: To have appt. cancelled, to have no more contact from company, and to have the practice of focusing on older homeowners, older citizens, and low-income families discontinued. Also reporting this to the Utah Consumer Protection Agency.

MS. [redacted],

First, we do not focus our business on older homeowners. We buy homeowner lists from a large National List Provider that gives us all homeowners from 35 years of age and above.

Second, our direct phone number to our home office is (800)XXX-XXXX. If you need to contact us, please do so.

Third, we have cancelled any previous appointments with you and placed your phone number on our Do Not Call list.

We apologize for any inconvenience you feel you have experienced.

I had French doors installed along with a window. I couldn't be more pleased. Not only does it look great on the inside and outside but clean up was a breeze!

I had a representative from K Designers in my home yesterday. He was great he explained everything to me very patient if I didn't understand

sometime he took his time and made it very clear. Before he came in to my home I checked on line and saw that it is an American made product. They have been in business a longtime.I can't wait for my Windows to be installed.I got great pricing and financing. I hope more people do more business work K Designers we need more American made products.Americans need jobs. More latter when the window are installed.

Review: I wish to cancel the contract and stop all further contacts from this company.

On 5/21/2012, my wife and I were approached at our home by a "marketing director" from KDesigners based out of Salt Lake City, Utah. At first we thought it would be a good idea to have them replace our aging siding, soffits, and rain gutters. He measured everything and we picked out the colors and we gave him a required down payment. The start date was to be 5/21/2012 and a completion date of 6/21/2012. A few days later the same marketing director called and said that his boss had told him that our choice of colors would make our home look funny and that he had changed them to another. He told us that he would bring the samples by for us to look at but that he was on his way to Idaho to see another customer but would come by in a week on his return. Weeks went by, and no marketing director. About the 20th of June, we were contacted the production manager, telling us they were ready to start and that our product was in. My wife told him that was impossible because we hadn't approved the colors yet and then explained what the marketing director had said. He then , very arrogantly, stated we didn't have to deal with marketing director and that he was the boss. He still didn't send up the new colors. Since we hadn't heard from them up to now, we had begun some major remodeling, which we told him. And again, very condescendingly, told my wife well, "well I guess we can use your product on another job and to contact him when we were ready for them. It's now 27 Oct 2012. We probably get called at least 4 times a month, still telling us that they have our product ready (we still have not seen the product described by their marketing director) and have now hired our own siding contractor to do the job and have explained that to the last 2 callers from KDesigners. Now the boss is leaving us messages to call him to resolve the work and I'm sure if we do, he will tell us we have signed a contract and that court action will follow. We just want to go on with ours lives and forget we even let KDesigners into our home in the first place. A warning to anyone approached by this company - don't walk away, RUN.

Desired Settlement: Return of the down payment and no further contact withi this company or any employee from said company. In addition, cancelation of any implied or written contracts with said company.

Letter sent to: [redacted]

Dear Mr. [redacted],

I am in receipt of your complaint filed with the Revdex.com. I apologize for the mishandling of the agreement with you by the Salt Lake City Branch. We will be returning the $100.00 deposit and I am releasing you from the agreement.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at (916) XXX-XXXX x6720 or [redacted]@k-designers.com.

Thank you.

Business' Final Response

The correct information regarding our agreement with Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] is that they were building a room addition on their home and they asked us to wait until the room addition was finished before we intalled the siding as per our agreement. We contacted them several times since May to see if they were ready for us to come, and they were still not ready for us. We ordered in special colors of the siding and stored them in our warehouse waiting while waiting for their contractor to finish with their room addition so we could proceed. At this point, we have been the one inconvenienced and we must now try to re-sale the special ordered siding to another homeowner. However, we feel we have done everything we could to please the [redacted]'s. We have cancelled the agreement and are returning their $100.00 deposit at their request.

Review: Received unsolicited mail from K-Designers regarding an "Official Federal Assistance Program: KD 13" that was dishonest.

Received unsolicited mail from K-Designers regarding an "Official Federal Assistance Program: KD 13" that specifically designed and worded to hide the true business. K-Designers solicited home and/or work phone numbers from homeowners to request information about "government assistance programs" available to help pay for energy efficient upgrades. In reality they are contracts selling windows, doors, insulation and installation. The envelope and insert look and are worded in a way that can be easily confused with an actual government agency. I have never requested information from K-Designers or this supposed "Energy Efficiency Center" located in Rancho Cordova, CA as I'm not a homeowner. Pictures of envelope and insert can be provided if requested.Desired Settlement: I wish to be taken off their solicitation list and to never be contacted by K-Designers or any of their affiliates again.

Initial Business Response

We apologize for any inconvenience you may have felt by receiving our mailing. We have placed your name and phone number on our internal "Do Not Contact" list.

The Federal Assistance Program flier that we sent to your home was not meant to confuse or mislead our customers. There are several government assistance programs available for homeowners to take advantage of and that can help homeowners remodel and upgrade their home to make their home more energy efficient. We are simply giving homeowners the opportunity to learn about and take advantage of these opportunities.

We again apologize for the inconvenience that you felt you may have received and have taken actions to see that you are not contacted again unless you initiate the contact.

If at any time you do receive additional communication for K-Designers, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

Director Marketing Operations
