Review: I am writing you concerning my bad experience with this business. I called + was told they do have a business license in Utah. They phoned me and made an apt. to come to my home + test the air; + they looked at my one window + ultimately told me the air in my home was O.K. then they asked me if I was interested in a security door. They showed me a picture + it was a nice looking door. [redacted] stated to fell out a form for the purchase of that door. He put the paper in front of me to sign + where to sign, not to mention, filling out this form would cost me $100.00. I was under the impression this $100.00 was a pre-pml on the door, wasn’t. He was charging me $100.00 to fill out a form, which was 2 sentences 3 lines each.

He had a person with him who said nothing, done nothing, + was nothing. They went outside then came in and said they would replace my yard lites for $1000.00- I told them no. I feel very taken advantage of and they miss-represented who they are for the testing of the air in my home. With no previous mention of doors or lites or windows. Also, I was not feeling well as I had been hospitalized the previous month. I was in no mind or interested to buy doors-windows or lites, but would allow to test the air in my home. This is a scam and I would like my $100.00 back, I had paid for this bad business. Can you settle this for me. Stop anyone else to be swindled? I was going to buy the security door they showed me a picture of. On their papers said door was to be put on my house approx.-May 5th-May 25/2015-I did not see or hear from them for over a month. I called them-they said “approx. date”- well, approx isn’t a month or two or more. They made apt; with me 3 times, + each time did not come or call. It was late June-27th when I called them + was told the door was in. they sent 2 young boys in a old p.u. with a door. When undone, it was not the door I ordered. It was a door I could purchase @ any lumber yard or vaccinity avid ware. They was going to put this on my front doorway. But it wouldn’t fir! No one took any measurements. Notes on this- it was not wide enough- they box it up + left. It was not the door in the picture [redacted] showed me. I called them later in July + talked with [redacted]- no help- I told them I didn’t want any door from them. I am 85 years old- on a fixed income, and cannot deal with this sort of bad influence. Thanks for you services-

[redacted]Desired Settlement: I was in no mind or interested to buy doors-windows or lites, but would allow to test the air in my home. This is a scam and I would like my $100.00 back, I had paid for this bad business

Response:

Thank you for your early response to my problem. K-Designers returned my $100.00 by placing the money into my Bank acct. Oct. 29 2015- I didn't know this until it showed up on my bank statement, which I received Nov. 7, 2015-Thanks again for your help.

I have to say K Designers is the worst company I have ever done business with. They installed siding and replaced a door for me and it took them 5-months. During this long drawn out ordeal they sent out three separate crews. Each new crew they sent out did not know or understand the scope of work.

The new patio door was the biggest cluster of the whole job. In the original quote they had down correctly a five foot French patio door for 2 X 6 inch walls. Several months later they finally ordered a door but they ordered a six foot door. After realizing their error they then had to order a five foot door which took another month. When they finally brought out the new door to install they removed in pieces the old sliding door before they realized the new door was for a 2X4 side wall instead of a 2x6 side wall. They went ahead and put in the wrong door in because it was late November and they said they would adjust the price. The installer did the best he could to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear but you could tell it wasn’t quite right. When it came time to settle, they refused to negotiate a lower price so I insisted they put in the correct door frame. It is now Mid-February and they finally finished the job.

As far as I am concerned K Designers from 5825 west 6th Ave. Lakewood Colorado is the preverbal contractor from hell.

We are very pleased with our window installation. They work beautifully, no tugging like the old ones. There no more drafts. Ryan installed them and was very efficient and knowledgable. He put down tarps on the carpeting and cleaned the area at the end. He put our blinds back up and even hung the curtains. We had a good experience.

we were very happy with the work done by K-designers. they worked diligently until finished and we were satisfied with the windows they installed.

I was very satisfied with the installation of new windows for my Living Room and Bedroom. It was timely and the clean up was quite good. They really look nice from the street side and from the inside. Would like to figure out how to afford to have them done on my other two bedrooms.I could use another instruction in cleaning the windows and the way they come out, but I'll figure it out.

Ray from K-designers is exceptional and does great work. Very happy with the bathroom remodlel.

K-designers installed two double-hung windows for us. I was pleased with the entire operation, beginning with the explanation of the whole process. The workers were prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable. They cleaned up when finished and made sure we were satisfied with their work. I would recommend this company without reservation. It is the best house-related experience I have had in fifty years!

Review: On 7/20/15 we had k designers come give us a bid on home for siding/Windows.[redacted] came to do thatHe then told us we would be a model home for the area and would get discounts for putting up their name and products. He told me that day my credit would not work that my husband needed a co signer . Then they continued to run my credit even after that and then they put the whole loan in the co signers name!!! With out permission they did it without us on the loan and without asking the co signer.Without letting us see or go over the financial papers. That we still have never seen. Still to this day the job isn't finished and the 2 exclusive round trip cruises haven't been followed threw with. Then I found out I was over charged for the job. And it is illegal to change loan papers and run my credit that many times. I believe they did a bait and switch and fraud.Desired Settlement: I want them to fix it all. I want them to be charge with fraud

Response:

THIS COMPLAINT WAS RESOLVED WITH THE CUSTOMER.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: As of 10,03,2015 they haven't done anything. Except put us off. Not one thing has been done to fix the problem.

Business

Response:

We reversed the financing charges, and once that hits the account the customer will need to cancel the account and we can reapply in the manner that they want. We also reduced the contract price to nearly half and added additional work that was not in the original contract. The additional work should be completed by the end of next week, as well as the financing changes should be cleared up by then. Once we have a final resolution we will inform the Revdex.com.

Review: My wife and I spoke to K-designers about having a bay window w/ seat installed in our house. We had pictures of what we wanted the window to look like as a finish product. The sales representativeensured us that the product that we would be paying for would look like the picture of what we wanted. The sales representative said that part of the project (the bookshelves) would have to be installed by a different contractor at a separate cost, which we agreed upon. The contractor was installing the window and I asked him how the seat would look when it was finished. The contractor stated that they didnt know that they were building a bench style seat. I asked him what he was going to build and he said he was installing the window and a light fixture. The contractor also stated that if he was to install the casing on the inside of the window that it would cost more money to have it removed for the bookshelves to be installed. K-designers wanted us to pay full price for the install which we have no problem doing if I were to get the product that the representative ensured us we would receive. K-designers were great with returning call, but they offered us a discount (minimal) instead of installing what we requested.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to finish the job. I do not mind paying for a service, but in this case I do not feel like the services promised were rendered. They offer a discount on the window, but I just want the job finished.

Business

Response:

We are still working on coming up with a solution for this project. We have been in contact with the customer via email, but they are both deployed, so it has been a little difficult comming to a quicker conclusion. We are working on getting their seat extended, and pricing it out. We would like to get the information for the company who will instal the bookshelves as it will be best to coordinate with them on the seat extension.

We got our windows in 2004 and had nothing but issues the first year from instalation to the windos were not what was suppose to be orderd of course at that time they had already taken out our old ones so we had to settle for what we got. They were never installed corectly and had to be fixed 3 times in first yr after that we gave up. Just had two widows fail and of course they are suppose to be lifetime right except we have topay for some onr to come from saltlake or california to fix it plus labor what a crock. That is not what they told us in the begining. Yet they still have the gall to call and ask us to purchase other products or to recomend them. Never going to happen!!!!!

Review: Started in July 2015. Two Windows apparently developed leaks between panes which made the windows look cloudy. Denver KDesigners sent out an installer that verified this problem and took measurements for replacement windows. Attempted to get progress reports and called the Denver Office on 7/17, 7/27, 8/19, 8/24, 8/31, 9/3, 10/9, 10/20, 10/21, and finally on 11/19. Talked with [redacted], the Production Manager - every time I talked with him, he said it would take approximately 2 weeks to get the replacements from his supplier and that it would cost $165 for labor but the material was covered. Told [redacted] that this was OK. [redacted] NEVER CALLS BACK IF YOU NEED TO TALK TO HIM YOU NEED TO KEEP CALLING. Talked with [redacted], supposedly the Regional Manager - he said that he would check and Actually did Call back and said that he talked with the supplier and it would take approximately 2 weeks and could install about a week after that (Sound familiar??) - cost would be $220 for labor, which was OK and told [redacted] to go ahead, and the material would be covered. Neither [redacted] or [redacted] were available for the 11/19 call however, [redacted] the receptionist indicated that she would call "Corporate" and have them get back to me - Never got a call from them either.

Bottom line - These folks talk a good story and keep you going with the "Approximately 2 weeks then we can set up installation" but NEVER FOLLOW THROUGH. It is VERY DOUBTFUL that the replacement windows were ever ordered from their supplier. I find it hard to believe that they could not get the replacement windows from July thru November!Desired Settlement: Live up to your "LIFETIME" Warranty and replace the faulty windows.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

The installer ([redacted]) was EXCELLENT. Worked quickly and professionally. The original Complaint was resolved to our satisfaction. However, while looking at another window, he noticed that the window was damaged and the installation was not correct. He took pictures and is recommending that the entire window be replaced.

totally satisfied with product and installation craftmen were timely and professional.

Review: Hello.I have a complaint about the services that been made by K-DESIGNERS. We have purchased windows from them. On their contract they state that they would leave the job site they way it looked before. In my case they left it all dirty, dusty with lots of scrapes on the walls.About a month before we did decided on a new windows, we did a new paint job in our bedroom. The paint coast was ($1,500) That is where we replaced our windows. They cost us a lot of money ($5,000 for two windows). Some of the sidings and seals are pilling off the windows. And the way they have done the blinds were incorrect. They should have valances, but they didn't put them on because of the wrong measurements. Please note, the charge stayed the same, no one even said anything about reimbursing us, but they sure charged us the full amount for them. I have made several attempts to reach them on the phone, left massages with nothing back in return. It has caused me lots of stress and frustration. My life is busy enough without this kind of problems. I have 4 kids and don't have time or patience to deal with them. Please help me out. I really do need your help in this matter. Sincerely,[redacted].

Review: failure to complete job of installing leaf relief system on new gutters

I have just learned that job was never completed.

Item #5 on contract "Install leaf relief on all gutters"..."job includes... new leaf relief system"

K Designers of Clackamas, Oregon

Representative = [redacted]

Date of contract = 4-7-10

Paid $4116.73 for 277 feet/linear of gutters, 8 downspouts, leaf relief on all gutters.

Being an elderly woman, was unable to climb a ladder to check on the job so only checked it from ground level.

Last week had moss removed from roof and learned that leaf relief system was not installed on any corners of roof. The pieces missing are 12 to 28" long and have caused gutters to become clogged with large debris which the leaf relief system would have prevented if installed completely. I have photos to prove the job was not finished. It is obvious the workman was taking advantage of knowing an elderly woman could not see, from ground level, that pieces were missing .Desired Settlement: I would like the missing pieces to be put in my gutters at no further cost.

Review: Calling and doorstop sales are excessive harassment. Repeatedly asked them to stop calling or coming to my house.

The most recent phone call was 7:04pm on 1/24/2013, in a long string of phone calls and multiple visits to my door. Their phone number is X-XXX-XXX-XXXX.

I'm actually a previous customer of this company (in my old house I purchased $8000 worth of windows). In my new house I told them I was not interested, but the phone calls and visits continued. They even left rude voicemails! I told them many times to stop calling.Desired Settlement: I just want them to stop calling me and stop coming to my house.

Review: K Designers installed windows an patio doors in two of our homes, the installation of this was very bad. have made many attempts to get them to fix this. as their is a implied warranty. The feeling is they got your money an their done with you. No communication. if their is its never the same person, if they really care they should be contacting us the customer. the way I see it, our business is them.Desired Settlement: replace one sliding patio door. reset all the windows for they were not set right for their is interior damage that needs repaired. the windows were not sealed on the outside or insulation put in, or they pay for a contractor that we get to fix this. an give new windows an doors if they can not be reset or repaired.

We will let the Revdex.com know when this is completed and to Mr. [redacted]s satisfaction.

Thank you.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: with what has happened with this company as far as communication their is know follow threw. lots of talk. their installations are not real professional. got to wonder about that group out of Billings.

Business

Response:

Our Branch Manager, [redacted] spoke with him yesterday, again… and he seemed very satisfied with the plan to replace the patio door and install, and re-install the problem windows, and re-trim the windows at no cost. [redacted] let Mr. [redacted] know that the patio door had to be ordered, and we would get back to him on Monday, May 19 to give him a date when the door would arrive (should be within 2 weeks) and schedule the install and address his problems with the windows.

Consumer

Response:

Consumer states that he is looking forward to having the issue fixed.

High pressure sales call. I am on the DNC registry yet they called and pressured me about purchasing windows. One of their sales tactics was to tell me they are registered with the Revdex.com. A reputable company does not need to make cold calls that are so high pressure that an average person, particularly an elderly person, would not be able to say no if they answer the call. She used incredibly high-pressure techniques in the call. She would not give me specific answers to questions. She would not give me a phone number to call back. I am skeptical of cold callers and she picked up on that and mentioned the Revdex.com three times. As she and I were talking, I researched K-Designers online and found many claims of people who were taken advantage of. I would appreciate Revdex.com checking into this so that they cannot use Revdex.com in claims with elderly people who cannot research themselves. First thing I did when I got off the call was to warn my grandmothers of this company being "in the area."

Several years ago K-Designers installed double pane windows and siding for us. They have withstood the test of time. Today we had a garage door installed. It is beautiful. [redacted] was our installer. He did a great job. Very nice, very personable and worked magic to install the new door in our old garage.

Review: Company engages in repeated, unsolicited phone calls. When informed that I am on the national DNC list calls increased to 3 times per day.

I have never had any dealings with this business, nor authorized any other business or entitly to give my personal information to them. My land line has been on the national Do Not Call registry since it's inception. My phone number is unpublished. I screen all incoming calls to my land line. Approximately 10 weeks ago I began getting calls from 800-728-3902 listed as k-designs at a rate of once a week. The frequency of calls increased gradually until four days ago it reached once per day. Brief online research see http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-800-728-3902 or http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/XXXXXXXXXX showed that this has been a common practice for this business for more than 3 years. Two days ago I informed them by phone that I am on the DNC list and demanded that they cease calling me. Yesterday the calls Increased to 3 times per day. I have filed a complaint with DoNotCall.gov and registered their number on my phone company's blocking service. Due to the egregious and chronic nature of their phone sales practices I feel that something needs to be done.

M [redacted]Desired Settlement: k-designs should cease unsolicited calls to myself and all others on the National DNC list as well as those who request cessation of calls in person.
