Customer Information: [redacted] *** [redacted] ID — [redacted] March 6, Dear [redacted] Revdex.com, Cleveland Home Improvements always tries to satisfy customers in the best way, however the unique situation here with [redacted] is that her contract clearly states and marked "no guarantees against cracking, or repair of puddling less than a quarter inch and five feet in diameter, and guarantee is only good for one year" [redacted] called in early February, demanding that I come out immediately to repair this — I explained to her the impossibility of this due to asphalt plants not opening until the second week of AprilIt was at this point when [redacted] became upset and threatened me with legal actionRespectfully, Sam S [redacted]

MrS [redacted] mentioned that I ‘threatened’ him with an attorney However, my comment was not intended as a threat, it was simply an alternative solution since we are not getting anywhere from our communications As mentioned before, it has been very difficult to discuss this issue with the S [redacted] brothers given their defensive and hostile communication styles in an attempt to shut us down Attached are pictures of the current state of our driveway as well as a sequence of events listed belowSummer – driveway completedFall – I asked the owner to come out and take a look at the driveway as waves and cracks formed and large granules appeared from the asphalt MrS [redacted] asked me to wait a year to let it ‘settle’ and call him back if we still had issues I agreed to this suggestion.Fall – As directed, I called the owners back to let them know there was additional cracking and the waves did not settle No return call from the company.January – I left another message for the owners as the cracks had worsened as seen in pictures No return call from the company.February – I left a third message for the owners and did receive a return call (hence my initial complaint to the Revdex.com)This has been an ongoing issue and since I contacted the owners regarding these issues within just a couple months of the driveway being completed, this should be honored under their ‘guarantee’ This company should ensure customers are satisfied with the finished product especially after paying 1000s of dollars While a completely new driveway would be ideal, it is not ideal for us to have this company to fix the work An alternative solution would be to compensate or refund us for the amount it will take to fix these issues by a different company We have had other professionals look at our driveway and they have also agreed it is not quality work At this point, I would want a third party witness present if the owners come on our property to look at the driveway

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me Regards, [redacted]

June 10, 2015Dear [redacted],Cleveland Home Improvement is always ready to help our customers in every way, but calling in aggressively and using foul language will not accomopolish anything. [redacted] lost asphalt at the end of his driveway which is obviously snow plow damage, of which there is no...

guarantee. The missing asphalt is not even on his property, but when we have a crew in his area we will repair it for free.  We are sending a copy of the contract, which clearly states the guarantee.Thank you,Sam S[redacted]

Mr. S[redacted] mentioned that I ‘threatened’ him with an attorney.  However, my comment was not intended as a threat, it was simply an alternative solution since we are not getting anywhere from our communications.  As mentioned before, it has been very difficult to discuss this issue with the S[redacted] brothers given their defensive and hostile communication styles in an attempt to shut us down.  Attached are pictures of the current state of our driveway as well as a sequence of events listed below. Summer 2015 – driveway completedFall 2015 – I asked the owner to come out and take a look at the driveway as waves and cracks formed and large granules appeared from the asphalt.  Mr. S[redacted] asked me to wait a year to let it ‘settle’ and call him back if we still had issues.  I agreed to this suggestion.Fall 2016 – As directed, I called the owners back to let them know there was additional cracking and the waves did not settle.  No return call from the company.January 2017 – I left another message for the owners as the cracks had worsened as seen in pictures.  No return call from the company.February 2017 – I left a third message for the owners and did receive a return call (hence my initial complaint to the Revdex.com). This has been an ongoing issue and since I contacted the owners regarding these issues within just a couple months of the driveway being completed, this should be honored under their ‘guarantee’.  This company should ensure customers are satisfied with the finished product especially after paying 1000s of dollars.  While a completely new driveway would be ideal, it is not ideal for us to have this company to fix the work.  An alternative solution would be to compensate or refund us for the amount it will take to fix these issues by a different company.  We have had other professionals look at our driveway and they have also agreed it is not quality work.  At this point, I would want a third party witness present if the owners come on our property to look at the driveway.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The statements by the company are not accurate and I did not make any sort of threat.  We have a 2 foot by 10 foot crack in our driveway due to the lack of a subgrade layer -and growing-that would not have happened if they had done their job correctly the first time. They signed a contract as well.  This company is hoping that I will give up but I plan on pursuing further in order to find a fair resolution.  Stay tuned.

Revdex.com obtained telephone response from company as follows: The company stated that the items the consumer is complaining about are not guaranteed. The company stated the no guarantee statement is on the contract. The company stated there are are no guarantees against cracking, or repair of puddling less than a quarter inch and five feet in diameter, and the guarantee is only good for one year. The company stated when the consumer called in February to state that there was a problem, none of the suppliers were open due to the season. The company stated they did tell the consumer as a courtesy they would come and look around spring when suppliers were open. The company stated the consumer demanded that they come out that night. The company stated the consumer was very demanding and the consumer did threaten them by mentioning getting an attorney. The company stated they are not willing to look at the work at this time because the items mentioned in the complaint are things that are not guaranteed, it's been over 1 year and the consumer threatened legal action.
