There are discrepancies in the customer’s complaintCustomer placed a credit card order online, Order ID ***, on 12/25/not 12/27/The customer selected and paid for US Postal Service shipping with limited trackingThe order was shipped via the US Postal Service on 12/27/tracking
ID# ***We clearly state on our website, “With USPS shipping, only limited tracking information is provided. Formerly called, "Delivery Confirmation," this tracking info is often less helpful than tracking provided by other shippers. Delivery times are not guaranteed. We find that USPS tracking often contains erroneous scans, indicating that a package was in an odd location that may not be true.” Another discrepancy is that we have no record of being contacted by the customer via emailNot even once, let alone four timesWe have checked our servers and spam folder and we have received no communication from this customerOne more discrepancy is that the US Postal Service stated that the package was never picked upThe US Postal Service picks up from our facility dailyThe US Postal Service damaged the packageAttached are photos of what we received back from the US Postal Service.A credit card refund has been processed for this order
There is nothing further to be doneAs we continue to state, we will not ship additional product to this University when the product they have already received has not been paid forThe customer stated that they are going to purchase from another source and we feel that is the best for both partiesIt does not appear that anything else needs to be resolved
- This university has past due invoicesThe university has been contacted numerous times via phone and email that these payments are past due.- This customer attempted to place a new order via PO, on Net day terms.- We stated to her that the university has past due invoices.- We then
received the same PO from another university employee.- At that time, we responded to this other employee with the past due invoice numbers and included the university ap department on the email.- There were multiple emails back and forth with this other university employee, that the employee that filed this complaint was not included onThis was the university’s choice, not ours.- We then received an email from the employee that filed this complaintThe email chain was forwarded to her, along with the statement, “As stated in our previous email, we are unable to process any orders for your university until payment has been received for the past due invoiceThis included credit card orders placed onlineFor that reason, your credit card order that was placed online, Order ID ***, has been canceled and the credit card has been refunded.”- This was stated in separate emails to this customer.- She is complaining that we would not process an order for her, yet, the university she is placing the order for, is days past due on other invoicesThat is what is ridiculousIf the university had paid their bills on time, none of this would be an issue.- In addition, why as a company would we send additional products to a customer if they had not paid for their two previous orders? This is simply common business sense, not terrible service

Review: I purchased various magnets from kjmagnetics.com including 8 of their model [redacted] magnets on 12/17/2013. They arrived in good condition. The [redacted] arrived strongly adhered to each other with only a thin rubber band separating each. They are of a relatively thin design and quite strong. My first task was to separate the magnets. When I attempted to pull the top one off the stack with my bare fingers, it broke into three pieces immediately upon me putting pressure to separate. There was no mishandling, no banging, no smashing, no dropping...just a simple hand held pulling apart.I asked KJ Magnetics for a full refund since their magnet was either flawed (lots of possible reasons) or the packaging was such that it would be impossible to separate without breaking the magnets due to their brittle geometry. Either way, this was completely unacceptable. They responded with the following:Thank you for your purchase. The quality of all of our products are the same, as is the manufacturing process. Unfortunately, some are more fragile than others due to the shape, size, and/or finish. All orders are manually picked, inspected, and packed prior to shipping. Because the magnets are easily damaged, we cannot be responsible for damage that occurs after they leave our facilities.Basically they stated that there is no warranty since all of their products are 100% perfect and that if they break it is my fault.Although I explained my point though subsequent emails, they will not stand behind their product quality and/or packaging practices. After 2 weeks, they did provide an RMA number but they refuse to offer me a refund for the broken magnet and they will charge a 20% restocking fee as well as no coverage for return shipping. They also reserve the right to flat our refuse my return and keep the magnets while giving me no compensation. My Order number is [redacted]My RMA# is [redacted]This company cannot hide behind unethical written policies. The broken product is the result of poor QA/packaging.Desired Settlement: Due to the fact that this product return is because of 100% fault on the seller/manufacturer of the product, I should not pay for their mistakes and the return should be covered in full.I expect:1. refund of shipping return items2. full refund of 8 x [redacted] plus tax3. no restocking feesI cannot work with their product as I can no longer assume acceptable quality. I will not pay for their poor business practices apart from the time this has already cost me.Thank you.

Response:
We have handled, packaged, and shipped millions of magnets during our
10+ years in business. We have never had a magnet break/shatter into
pieces when pulling it apart from another magnet. This only happens when
two or more magnets are allowed to slam together. It is often more dangerous to ship magnets separated from each other. All of our magnets
are packaged and shipped in order to comply with United States
Department of Transportation, USPS, UPS, and FedEx regulations for the
shipment of magnetic materials. We are sorry that the customer was not
satisfied with the product/packaging as received. However, since the
magnets survived shipment and did not break until handling them, the
packaging did its job. We disagree on the cause of the breakage. Larger
spacers are not better at reducing the risk of damage during separation
and handling. The magnets were not defective, nor improperly packaged.
We have tried to explain to the customer that these products are
extremely brittle and can be easily chipped and broken and that we can
not refund him for products that he damaged.

Review: Greetings. I purchased several magnetics from this company at the cost of $27.00. The magnets were unsuitable for my purposes as they were very small and for use by a ten year old in a science experiment. I saw this immediately, did not use the magnets at all. I packaged the magnets in the original packing and returned the item to the seller at my own cost.. Several days passed in which the seller did not respond to my request for a refund. After three emails the seller sent me photos of the magnets and metal box which showed damaged items. [redacted] claimed I had sent the magnets back in this fashion. My wife and I examined the photos and found them obviously ludicrous and "staged." For example, the metal box was completely dented, something which I obviously had not done and the magnets were scarred and dented. I contacted the seller and told him that in that case he should return the magnets to me. He never responded. Thus, not only did I pay for magnets but paid returned shipping and in the end got nothing. A pretty good scam in my opinion.Desired Settlement: Obviously the seller should have refunded my money or returned the magnets to me. To keep everything is simply unethical and the sign of a shyster.
This company is not customer service. The number above is wrong. They have no phone to talk to some one at if you want net terms with the company. They will not work with you. you have to basicaly scrap your po formmat and only do it they way. You can not have anything on the po that does not match their system. Well every company has their own program for PO's and that is unrealistic all the po system in the world would be the same one with the same info on them.
