I was referred to K & K by a few friends, so naturally I thought that my experience would be a positive one My turn signal switch went out about a week prior, and I needed to have work done on it right away I called K & K on a Monday and asked if I could drop it off that afternoon The receptionist said that they would have it looked at and a diagnosis made by the following morning I received a call from them the next day around 11:am, and they said that they would have to replace the turn signal switch: total cost including labor would be $ In addition, they said that my brakes were completely worn out, and the cost to replace the front brake pads and rotors would be almost $ I have had both of these things done before on my car, and the cost of the turn signal switch replacement was $and the brake replacement was a little over $ Naturally I declined their offer to fix the brakes and I said to please continue with the switch replacement since I needed that done right away After speaking with them I went to my computer, looked up the cost of the part and found that it was $on the [redacted] website (I confirmed the part name with the mechanic) I called back and asked why they were upcharging the part by 400%, when I know that the standard upcharge for mechanical work is around 200% or double I understand that parts need to be upcharged so that the shop can make a profit, but not by this much My call was simply a request for an explanation why the part was marked up so much, but their response was, "If you don't like the cost, pay the labor fee and take it somewhere else." This was word for word what I hard the manager say in the background I am not usually upset by poor customer service, but this is not something you say to a customer, especially since I am the one paying for the services A little over two hours later I receive another call from them saying that they don't actually know what the problem is now and that they'll have to look at it again Once again, I understand how mistakes happen and how some car problems are not always easy to diagnose, but why did they call me and give me a quote for a specific service when they weren't actually sure what the problem was? To me, it came across as them trying to get more money out of me since I had denied the brake replacement Once again, I said please continue with the switch replacement I heard nothing else for the rest of the afternoon so I called back, and the receptionist told me, "Since you were indecisive about what you wanted to do, we took it out of the garage and haven't brought it back in yet We won't be looking at it again until tomorrow." Even though I gave the approval to continue twice with the service that they quoted me for, for some reason it was still my fault that they didn't get the work done This was the second time where they treated me like a very unappreciated customer Like I said, I am not one to complain about poor service, but the staff here were both unprofessional and unfair with their price setting Maybe they were having a bad day, but I will not go back to this shop nor will I recommend anyone to go there
