K Kittle, LLC DBA Rebath & 5 Day Kitchens Reviews (9)

We used re bath for a very large bathroom remodel in March 2014. Hopefully after today we will be done with this company! The finished product is good but the stress and redo we went through Shows we should have gone elsewhere in the first place.
We were given a man who could not lay tile and o
It had to be removed by someone else. About 10 months after finish I was in shower and a shelf fell on broke, chipped floor and cracked marble seat. The shelves were never secured correctly the first time. The service person never returns calls we had to go to office and speak to president to get the work done. Now it is July 29,2015 . He was supposed to be here at 9am. I called at 10am and he was on way arrived at 10:40. I hope it looks good and is correct after all this. Yes the final project like but would never go to re bath or recommend them.

Review: We entered into a contract to re-model our bathroom on 2-20-2014 and we advised that we are winter visitors and needed a timely completion date. We were advised that it would require 3 days to complete and would be notified of a start date within a week. We were informed (after 3 weeks) that work would begin on 4-7-2014. An installer arrived and began the work. After 6 days, (4-13-2012} he advised some one would complete the installation. During the demonstration of the Shower operation, I noted that the shower head was leaking, he said "I will fix it" he didn't). On or about a week later, I called customer service [redacted] and mentioned the towel bar bar and shower head needed repair and was advised I would get a call back within 48 hours. After waiting 7 days for that call I called customer care again was told " I'll see what I can do" 7 days later I am filing this complaint as we look forward to return to our summer locationDesired Settlement: Re-install window screen and crank, fix leaking shower head or have [redacted] finish the job ###-###-#### [redacted] in November 2014

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Review: 4 YEARS AGO RE-BATH INSTALLED A DOUBLE SINK. 1 OF THE SINKS I DID NOT USE AND ONLY DUSTED WITH A DAMP CLOTH FOR 3 YEARS. WHEN I DID BEGIN TO USE THE SINK AND STARTED TO WASH IT WITH GENTLE CLEANSER A SPOT OF A DIFFERENT COLOR PAINT APPEARED AND I COULD FEEL A DEPRESSION THE SIZE OF A BB. IT TOOK RE-BATH 5 MONTHS TO COME AND SEE THIS SINK. THE SERVICE PERSON WAS RUDE AND CONDESCENDING. HE SAID TO ME "I CAN NOT BELIEVE YOU CALLED ME UP HERE FOR THIS. I CAN NOT FIND ANY PAPER WORK IN PRESCOTT AS TO WHAT WE INSTALLED IN HERE. WHERE IS YOUR PAPER WORK BECAUSE IT WOULD SHOW YOU RE-BATH IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING WE DO NOT MAKE AND WE DO NOT MAKE CULTURED MARBLE COUNTER TOPS?"

I SHOWED HIM THE 1 PIECE OF PAPER THAT I HAD RECEIVED AND SIGNED AT THE END OF THE JOB AND IT DID NOT DESCRIBE ANY OF THAT. AFTER THAT IN A VERY NASTY ATTITUDE THIS SERVICE PERSON ASKED ME WHY I ACCEPTED THIS COUNTER TOP?

I DON'T THINK THE ORIGINAL PAPER WORK WAS EVER GIVEN TO ME AND I AM BEGINNING TO BELIEVE THAT THE ORIGINAL PAPER WORK NEVER WAS FILED IN THE OFFICE THE WAS ON RAILROAD SPRINGS RD IN FLAGSTAFF AZ BACK IN 2010. I SUSPECT THAT THOSE OWNERS KNEW THAT THIS COUNTER TOP WAS DEFECTIVE AND HOPED I WOULD NOT NOTICE OR THE DEFECT WOULD NOT SHOW UP FOR SOME TIME, UNTIL THEY COULD MAKE SOME EXCUSE TO NOT FIX IT.

A FEW DAYS LATER I REGISTERED A COMPLAINT TO THIS SERVICE PERSON'S MANAGER CONCERNING HIS ATTITUDE AND BEHAVIOR.

I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO ADD THAT IN AUGUST OF 2013 THE SHOWER PAN CRACKED AROUND MY DRAIN (ALSO INSTALLED BY RE-BATH) IT TOOK RE-BATH UNTIL DECEMBER 24,2013 TO REPLACE IT AFTER REPEATED CALLS TO THIS SAME SERVICE PERSON.. HE TOLD ME THAT THE SHOWER PAN HAD TO BE 'SPECIALLY MADE AT THE COMPANY AND THEY NO LONGER MADE THESE PANS' AND THIS WAS A LIE. WHEN THE GENTLEMAN CAME TO INSTALL THE SHOWER PAN HE MEASURED IT AND CUT THE PAN IN MY BACKYARD. (HE WAS A VERY NICE MAN!!!)Desired Settlement: I DO NOT FEEL AT THIS POINT THAT REPAIRING THE SINK IS AN OPTION AFTER THAT SERVICE PERSON HAD SUCH A NASTY AND CONDESCENDING ATTITUDE, AS IF I WAS WASTING HIS TIME AND MAKING HIM ANGRY. I FEEL THAT HE WOULD PURPOSELY MAKE THE SINK LOOK WORSE THAN IT ALREADY IS AND THIS WOULD PROBABLE BE THE ATTITUDE OF RE-BATH IN GENERAL SO I FEEL THE SINK NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.

Response:

There is no contract in existence that we installed a counter top for this customer. Attached contract shows the project total was $14,396 not $31,000 as [redacted] shows in the complaint. Also, the date of purchase was 10/20/09 shown in contract, not 1/6/10 as [redacted] shows in the complaint. Our concern is that Re-Bath did not install the counter top, however, even if customer could provide the paperwork this is not a product covered by a life time warranty and per ROC guidelines this would be out of the warranty period.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

Well this would explain why neither Re-Bath or I, [redacted] have paperwork on the counter tops that were installed in my bathrooms when both my bathrooms were remodeled in 2009.(Re-Bath did not bother to provide it!!!) And yes Re-Bath installed these counter tops in both my bathrooms!!!!!!!! Granted it was the Re-Bath that was located on Railroad Springs Rd in Flagstaff AZ and not the Re-Bath in the Phoenix area so this may be news to them and to insinuate that I had these counter tops installed from some where else is an attempt to insult me. I can see why the RailRoad Springs outfit is out of business due to these types of unethical practices. Why would I have 2 entire bathrooms done by Re-Bath and then ask someone else to put in countertops? Does it make sense for you to come in and JUST install walls and no cabinets, toilets, mirrors, towel racks, baths, showers

Rebath found this 1 piece of paperwork on the, wainscoating' (walls) but I notice there was no paperwork for the toilets the cabinets the mirrors the walk in shower etc.. shown in this rebuttal. Also I see no paperwork on the check that you received from the bank for the final payment, (the bank that Re-Bath was working with) Provide those things show you are an ethical company.

AT THIS TIME PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHED COPY OF THE ENERBANK PAYMENT TO RE-BATH OF NORTHERN ARIZONA

A.) 10/23/09 I BORROWED $23,955.00. $11,977.50 WAS AN UP FRONT PAYMENT TO RE-BATH. RE-BATH COULD NOT START THE REMODEL UNTIL FEB. OF2010 BECAUSE THEY WERE BUSY.

B.) 02/10/10 ENERBANK ISSUES A CHECK TO RE-BATH OF NORTHERN ARIZONA FOR ANOTHER $11,977.50 AFTER THE INSTALL IS COMPLETED.

Macopa...I remembered the amount of the job wrong. I believe at this point that Re-Bath of Northern Arizona that was located on Railroad Springs did not give me all of the paperwork and lead me to believe that their products were guaranteed for life. They installed a sink that was patched and now are out of business. Now Re Bath has sent a representative that was rude and condescending and now is trying to make this situation appear as if ReBath was never paid and never did the remodeling job that I have in my home. (If that is the case could I please have the refund or the difference in the amount of money that EnerBank issued to ReBath...that would surely make up for the hole in the sink.)

I suspect that this response was written by the same 'representative' that came into my home and it shows the same disrespect that he did, the same disrespectful tone and the attempt to make it appear that I had only a small amount of remodeling done by Re-Bath in 2009 is unethicAL TO SAY THE LEAST and about what I expected at this point. Did anyone talk to the Northern Arizona Supervisor, he saw my bathrooms and he could have told you that a lot more than 12 thousand dollars went into my bathrooms. Yet someone let this man again attempt to insult me?

This is not good busy practice.....But whatever I have friends, who have friends, who have friends...social media is a wonderful thing

Re-bath and 5 day Kitchens was hired by to preform a bathroom remodel on my master bathroom. This job started on 7-7-2014 and scheduled to finish on 7-18-2014. Most of the remodel was complete in time; however the ceiling texture was not done properly and a tile got dropped on the new shower pan. They repaired the pan but the ceiling texture is not complete and we are now over a month into this project. My perception is that it is more important to start the next job on time than to fix the one that was not done right in the first place. I am having to work around there schedule to get the job complete as opposed to them working around mine. For example, they do not call when they say the will call. The communication is sub-par.

Review: When we asked a small problem with a small area of caulking be fixed, supervisor came out and made the problem worse. At cost to us of over $9000,00 we feel our "new shower" looks really bad. We have been in contact with the supervisor( who came out to "fix" the problem but made it worse) as well as company president and after much ado was told if they were to do anything we would have to sign a release which we know leaves us vulnerable to a sloppy job and we would have no recourse as signing the release makes our warranty void.Desired Settlement: We would like our shower to look like a "new" well done job. It looks sloppy and the caulking makes it look like it has mold, mildew or dirt. We are on a very fixed income and it took some years to finally decide to use some of our small savings to update our bathroom and remove the tub for safety reasons.

Review: Contractor has failed to complete or install missing "drain trim set" on remodeled shower. Photo's of the incomplete drain were sent with emails listed below. This site does not seem to accept photos. We researched drains on the internet after getting no response, and found that the floor drain does come with a "drain trim set" that consists of a grill cover and crown. Additionally, a 3 1/2" strip of the double fin polycarbonate has fallen off of the transom window to this steam shower, as well.

It has been 3 weeks without a response to our issues. On 6/20/14 we made final payment and at that time told our Sales Representative ([redacted]) we were not satisfied with the shower drain as it has approximately a 1/4" drop that is a safety concern.

On 6/23/14, We then sent [redacted] our Project Manager an email with a photo of the problem. Follow up contact was made again after a week without response to Jeff. As his email indicated on 6/29, "he was on it".

Follow up on 7/6 with [redacted] (Vice President) netted no reply.

Final contact made to [redacted] (President/Owner) on 7/9/14 to no avail.

Note: Copies of the original emails and photos sent; are available.Desired Settlement: Please finish this job!

Install missing drain trim set. Repair double fin poly strip that fell off transom widow of steam shower.

While on site to do above; please check grout and floor tiles for moisture content. We want to make sure there is not a leak; as the grout of the floor of tiles and going up the wall in one area appears "darker" or wet.

Re-Bath's/5-Day Kitchen's ad in the Mesa newspaper stated "Bathroom Packages Starting at $2990". When the design consultant showed up, measured our bathroom, and proceeded on a Re-Bath Sales pitch, he informed us the advertised "deal" was only for a "Phase 1" renovation, which only included the 'wet area' or the bath tub or shower! A complete job requires both Phase 1 & Phase 2 (toilet, vanity, sink, etc.). The $2990 could jump as high as $15,000! We informed the consultant this is "false advertising" and Re-bath needs to state the $2990 only covers a Phase 1 job- a savvy buyer could then ask what a Phase 1 job included, before being misled down the proverbial garden path! We would not recommend this business to anyone looking to renovate a bathroom or kitchen

Review: Salesman from Re-Bath wrote a Contract on November 2015 on his I-Pad. I told him my computer wasn't working so I couldn't download it. I called him on November 3, 2015 asking to please mail the Contract to me. It never arrived, so I called again November 10, 2015. I was told he was printing it now and would put it in the mail. Still no contract, I began calling the Re-Bath Office once on Friday 11/20/2015, left message, Saturday 11/21/2015 voice mail, Monday

11/23/ 2015, three times, to two different people. No return calls. Picked up my mail evening of November 23, 2015,

and the Contract had arrived. I sent Cancellation Notice November 25, 2015. I wanted to read over the Contract before I moved forward. The Contract had a lot of blank spaces, a vague description of what was being done, and no listing of price of materials or labor. I didn't feel comfortable continuing with this Company.Desired Settlement: Refund from Re-Bath to my [redacted] Account. For the amount of $5,054.00 Five thousand and fifty-four dollars.

Response:

Customer cancelled contract on 12/1/15, 3 weeks after contract was signed. Per contract customer owes 25% of contract total.

Review: The problem with Re-Bath started when there was a discrepancy on the day they were scheduled to come start my bathroom remodel project. There were supposed to be at my house on Monday, March 17, 2014 between the hours of 8am and 10 am. I received no phone calls, and no voicemail messages stating they were on their way, or at my home. When I called their office later that afternoon, they stated somebody showed up. I questioned them as to why nobody called or left a message, to which they didn't have a response. I was told I would get a phone call back regarding the issue. The phone call never came.

When they showed up the next day, which was unannounced until they arrived, nobody was home. They called me and I spoke to the person scheduled to remodel my home and told him I was not home. He indicated that we would have to reschedule the entire project because of lost time. Frustrated by their lack of communication and service, I requested to speak to a supervisor about canceling the project.

After several days of calling and leaving messages, I finally got in contact with a supervisor and requested that my project be canceled with a full refund. I was informed that they would refund only a percentage of the project cost, even though I would not have any of the remodel done, and no materials. So basically I was paying 25% of the project cost for absolutely nothing. This is when I requested to speak to someone higher up, and when I was given the contact information of the owner of Re-Bath.

The owner of Re-Bath is EXTREMELY rude. He refused to consider a full refund, even though I explained my frustration with the lack of communication his employees provided. He refused to offer a discount for the lack of service I received. He refused to deliver the materials that I was supposedly paying the 25% project cost for. He belittled and yelled at me during our phone correspondence. During one of our conversations, he actually called me a liar and irresponsible before hanging up on me. He eventually cornered me and told me I can either accept paying 25% of the project cost without anything to show for it or reschedule the remodel and pay the entire cost of the project. I ended up picking the latter, despite my dissatisfaction.

This type of treatment is hostile and should not be tolerated. I sincerely hope this company meets appropriate repercussions for the abuse I experienced with them.Desired Settlement: The bathroom remodel has been completed and I am happy with the final result, however, I wish I wasn't forced into it. A full refund would be unfair and unethical, but I would like a partial (25%) refund for the mental damage and abuse I had to go through with Re-Bath.

I would also like an apology from the owner for the way I was treated.

[redacted] is in education and requested we complete the job during his spring break. We accommodated him and scheduled for March 17th-21st, email confirmation was sent on 3/5/14. Customer was then contacted March 12th by phone to be reminded of install start date of 3/17/14. On Monday March 17th, the field tech tried several times to contact customer on way to residence. upon reaching residence the field tech contacted office notifying us that the customer was not home. customer finally contacted office late Monday afternoon and spoke with construction manager apologizing that he was not avaiable when we arrived. We confirmed with customer that we would be there Tuesday morning at 8am sharp in order for the job to be completed on schedule. Tuesday morning at 8am, technician was at residence and customer was again did not answer our phone calls or door. The office contacted customer and the customer asked if we could give him a half hour that he wasnt ready for us to begin project. Our technician went to breakfast and came back at 8:45, customer was still not available and admitted he was not even at residence and wouldn't be until late Tuesday afternoon. Customer was then notified by production manager that due to us being unable to start on a timely manner, the job would have to be rescheduled. Customer contacted us March 28th and requested that we cancel his job. We notified him of a 25% restocking fee per contract, customer agreed and job was cancelled. After cancellation the customer contacted the creditor to state that he was charged for work that was not performed, upon investigation the claim was deemed unfounded and restocking fees still applied. On 4/22/14 customer contacted Re-bath asking to speak to the owner. Owner informed him we would not refund him the restocking charges due to breach of contract on the customers part. The customer then asked if he decided to go forward with the project would he incur any additional costs or fees. Owner informed him that he would not, we would fulfill original contract. Customer stated he would think about it and contact us upon his decision. Customer then contacted us to schedule a time to resign a new contract at original price on 6/18/14. Customer was 45minutes late for his appointment with design consultant. Job was then scheduled for 7/14/14 and completed on 7/18/14. We feel that this customer was afforded every courtesy and all contractual guidelines were followed.
