Scam.

I called about duct cleaning for my home they told me they couldn’t quote over the phone and that they would have to come and look to quote a price. When the salesman arrived he didn’t even look at the duct work before telling me it was $69.95. This raised a flag to me on why couldn’t they of told me this over the phone. Most quotes I have received are for 3-4 hours of work with prices ranging from $250-300 on average. When asked about the process they use he told me the basics; they seal the vents, cut a hole in the return duct, install a powerful vacuum, and then said that they will only clean my ducts "as far as they can reach by hand". Which is where the main labor cost difference and work quality comes from. we then proceeded to my furnace where he insisted I need to buy his $600 uv filter into my return duct that was on a current special of $325 installed and tried to sell me the filter for over 5 minutes. He wrote this all into an estimate and told me to sign it. what he didn’t say is by signing the estimate I would be agreeing to have the work done. after I refused to sign it he tried to pressure me 3 more times before he gave up and left my house.
