Mr [redacted] brought his vehicle in to the shop for a 04/11/for clutch problems We installed a new clutch kit into the vehicle that includes a clutch disc, pressure plate and two bearings We also installed a slave cylinder into the vehicle We had a repair total of $ The car was released on 04/15/ The customer brought the vehicle back to the shop for an oil leak The customer thought that the rear main seal was leaking We determined that it might be the rear main seal leaking, however we found a major oil leak on the back of the engine cylinder head We ordered the gasket for the engine block and informed the customer that it would take some time to get the parts to since SAAB parts were becoming hard to get due to the issues of all of the SAAB Dealerships closing ( All parts are special order now, and they take quite some time to arrive) The customer wanted the the rear main seal replaced, so we took care of that for them without charging any additional labor Later the customer had problems with the slave cylinder with the vehicle and we addressed that concern under warranty Since the last transaction with the customer, we have heard of any issues with the customer or the vehicle Mr [redacted] has never contacted me directly, and I would be happy to assist him with any concerns that he has If there are additional concerns with the vehicle, I would be more than happy to discuss them with the customer so that he can enjoy his vehicle trouble free

Hi there! The customer came into the office yesterday and left satisfied and happy We hired Scrubs Detailing to come and provide a detail for her car We were able to point out that the engine cover was not missing and that the only thing that her car was missing was a battery insulator We did not remove or service the battery but in the interest of winning the trust and respect of a customer I placed an order for the battery insulator I also refunded $of the original repair invoice to the customer If you have any questions regarding the outcome, please let me know! In regards to the complaint that Mr*** has posted with the Revdex.com and on various public outlets regarding to the service he received on his Chevrolet Suburban On 8/15/2016, Mr*** had his Chevrolet Suburban towed to Select Transmission and Automotive for obvious problems with his
transmission Upon arrival at the center, he complained that there was obviously a transmission problem with the transmission since the vehicle will not move, that prior to the transmission going out there was a grinding sound and that he was considering swapping his automatic transmission with a standard transmission with a standard transmission Mr*** was informed by *** *** and myself that we would not do a conversion from an automatic transmission to a standard on that vehicle, and that we needed to get the vehicle diagnosed before any repair recommendations were made Mr*** waited in the office while the diagnostic process was completed and we were unable to drive the vehicle as the transmission had completely failed Transmission failure is actually quite on year old Chevrolet Trucks and nearly any vehicle with extremely high mileage At the time of our services, his vehicle had 163,miles on the odometer Our written recommendation to Mr*** was "Transmission has no forward or reverse engagement, transmission needs internal service and repairs and will need to be driven for further inspection." Mr*** did not want to rebuild his transmission, he wanted to have an exchange unit ordered, shipped and installed to our shop so that he had the increased warranty protection While Mr*** was here in the office, we called our two vendors for pricing of his 4L80E 4Xtransmission, provided him with estimates on shipping times, pricing and repair completion timesWe agreed to a price, warranty coverage and provided Mr*** with information regarding our available financing programs Mr*** proceeded to return home and was kept apprised of completion time of the transmission being assembled and shipped to our center from Cleveland, and once he was notified that we had received the transmission, he made arrangements to fly back to San Antonio prior to being advised that the truck was ready to go Upon arrival at our repair center, we advised Mr*** that we were not quite ready for the truck to be released, because we needed to do further investigation into a noise in the drive line that was obviously not present prior to transmission repair (Other systems in the drive line could not make noise since the transmission had no forward or reverse engagement.) Having three separate technicians look at the vehicle, we determined that the noise was obviously coming the transfer case, which was part of the customer's original complaint and proper function could not be verified due to the catastrophic failure of the automatic transmission assembly Mr*** verified the noise in the transfer case while underneath the vehicle with our service manager and lead technician and decided that further diagnostics were not necessary as he needed to get back on the road for his trip home We asked Mr*** to signify on his paperwork that he knew the transfer case was making noise, and made sure that he understood that he could reach us if he had any issues As Mr*** states his in his complaint, Mr*** checked the level of his transfer case while on the road back to New Mexico With Mr***s original signature noting his understanding of transfer case noise, his admission of checking is transfer case fluid after he left our shop is clear indication that our staff is not liable for a the alleged loose fluid fill plug on the transfer case Under no circumstance can Select Transmission be liable for damages being caused by Mr*** leaving his fluid plug loose when checking his fluid since he did not want to have additional repairs completed on his truck here Mr*** was obviously negligent is performing maintenance checks on his own vehicle, and the outcome was less than ideal for him In his being upset about the further failure of his truck due his own negligence Mr*** has lashed out unfairly calling names and using unprofessional language towards my staff and has made untruthful and harmful statements about them on social media and in public forums online

Ms***; I want to apologize for the obvious lack of service that you received while visiting my business. It is my goal to serve every customer the absolute best possible. I will not make excuses for the lack of service that you received other than the fact
that I was out town on family business and I was not there to supervise the service that was being dealt to each and every one of my customers. While this is no excuse for our lack of service, I do apologize Select Transmission was in the middle of a huge move of our facility causing several pieces of our equipment to be inoperable while is was being dismantled for the move. While this is also no excuse for the lack of service that you received, I want to apologize for the delay that you experienced in getting your car back Our shop has since moved, and we are now at O'Connor Rd, San Antonio, TX and I hope that you will find the time to come by and see the different level of service that you receive. Your transmission did come with a month or 12,mile limited warranty for your protection, but, as a courtesy I would like to extend your warranty to a month or 50,mile limited warranty just so that you are comfortable with the service that you received Again, I do apologize for the poor service that you received, however, I would like to do whatever it takes to earn your trust and confidence. If I can be of any assistance to you, please, reach out to me directly. I would be happy to discuss any concerns that you might have personally *** ***Select Transmission & Automotive Center IncO'Connor RdSan Antonio, TX 210-599-Officewww.sanantoniotransmissions.netwww.facebook,com/selecttransmission

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Hi there!     The customer came into the office yesterday and left satisfied and happy.     We hired Scrubs Detailing to come and provide a detail for her car.  We were able to point out that the engine cover was not missing and that the only thing that her car was missing...

was a battery insulator.  We did not remove or service the battery but in the interest of winning the trust and respect of a customer I placed an order for the battery insulator.  I also refunded $300.00 of the original repair invoice to the customer.     If you have any questions regarding the outcome, please let me know!         [redacted]

Seems like this place can never get it together! It took forever to get my car fixed. All I got was one excuse after another about mechanics not showing up for work, leaving early, or quitting without notice.

Once I finally did get my car back, the inspection sticker was stolen from my windshield, the contents of my trunk were now sitting in my back seat (which I later had to have shampooed) and my tool box had been stolen as well! Of course, when I called back to the shop to ask about these missing items, no one seemed to remember removing them from my vehicle. Shocker! I eventually had to file a police report with SAPD naming them as the suspect for my stolen property.
I should have known something was fishy when I was leaving the shop and the mechanic asked me "Did you have any sub woofers in your trunk? Cause we may have removed them." Now why would a car shop, working on my transmission, need to remove my sub woofers from the trunk???

My biggest issue was the charges. I was given a quote for the transmission repair, ($3,000) as well as a quote for 2 other "issues" my car had that the shop offered to fix. I was told that all I had to do was pay for the additional parts and they would make the repairs without charging extra for labor... ($300) Needless to say, the additional repairs were not done after all, nor where they ever mentioned again after I paid, but for some reason I was still charged $3600. No one ever told me that the additional repairs were not done on my car. If they did, I would have definitely asked why I was STILL being charged 600 dollars more than my original quote.
I was asked to take my car back within 10 days of the repair to do a check up. Of course, this check up was done half-assed as well. No one ever opened my hood. The guy just drove the car around with me for 10 minutes and stamped my warranty as valid.

So here I am, two weeks later with a leaking transmission and all I can get from the shop is a long wait time to even have it looked at, along with more excuses about having to wait because the staff has left early AGAIN.

Avoid this place at all costs. If you have no other option, at least be sure to ask if they have a reliable staff available before you sign your car away to them for two months.

Oh, and be sure to take inventory of everything in your car before you drop it off! Including your inspection sticker! Dont wanna leave there with a slew of nasty surprises like I did.

I see [redacted] is not above brazenly lying to cover his behind. The reviews I posted about his shop were basically verbatim of what I put in the Revdex.com complaint. If calling a liar a liar is "foul language" and "unprofessional", then perhaps he and his so called technicians should cease lying and acting unprofessional.
Mr. [redacted] says: "and once he was notified that we had received the transmission, he made arrangements to fly back to San Antonio prior to being advised that the truck was ready to go."
As I had originally stated, I called Select on Monday, 8/29/16 and was told that the vehicle would be ready on 8/31. This was several days after I was notified that the replacement transmission had been received at the shop. I arrived at the shop on Friday, 9/2/16, giving them all week to complete the work.
Mr. [redacted] says: .  "Mr. [redacted] verified the noise in the transfer case while underneath the vehicle with our service manager and lead technician and decided that further diagnostics were not necessary as he needed to get back on the road for his trip home."
Complete BS!!! The truck was out in the parking lot when I got there at around 5 PM. I never saw it up on the lift. What kind of a fool would agree to drive a vehicle knowing it was in that condition? What kind of mechanic would let a customer drive such a vehicle? What kind of mechanic wouldn't notice a simple thing like the transfer case being empty of oil and plugs missing? Isn't that their job?
"As Mr. [redacted] states his in his complaint, Mr. [redacted] checked the level of his transfer case while on the road back to New Mexico."
I did not attempt to drive back to New Mexico, nor did I state that I did. I am not a mechanic so I had no idea where to look in regards to any problems with the rear transfer case, which I did not suspect as the problem. I checked the transmission fluid level as instructed by [redacted] over the phone and it was fine. I and a guy at a local Auto Zone looked under the vehicle and noticed the fluid leakage. It wasn't until the truck was at the shop in El Paso and disassembled that I was aware of the transfer case issue.
"Mr. [redacted] was obviously negligent is performing maintenance checks on his own vehicle"
I'm not the mechanic nor do I pretend to be one. I was given a vehicle that was slapped back together in a rush because of procrastination, incompetence or dishonesty, probably a combination of the three.
It is clear that Mr. [redacted] or those that work for him are less than competent and completely dishonest. There is a reason they have several other complaints with the Revdex.com and on social media. It's a shame to the driving public that someone like him is still in business.

Mr. [redacted] brought his vehicle in to the shop for a 04/11/2013 for clutch problems.   We installed a new clutch kit into the vehicle that includes a clutch disc, pressure plate and two bearings.  We also installed a slave cylinder into the vehicle.  We had a repair total of $1323.30....

The car was released on 04/15/2013.
The customer brought the vehicle back to the shop for an oil leak.  The customer thought that the rear main seal was leaking.  We determined that it might be the rear main seal leaking, however we found a major oil leak on the back of the engine cylinder head.  We ordered the gasket for the engine block and informed the customer that it would take some time to get the parts to since SAAB parts were becoming hard to get due to the issues of all of the SAAB Dealerships closing.  ( All parts are special order now, and they take quite some time to arrive. )
The customer wanted the the rear main seal replaced, so we took care of that for them without charging any additional labor.
Later the customer had problems with the slave cylinder with the vehicle and we addressed that concern under warranty.
Since the last transaction with the customer, we have heard of any issues with the customer or the vehicle.  Mr. [redacted] has never contacted me directly, and I would be happy to assist him with any concerns that he has.  If there are additional concerns with the vehicle, I would be more than happy to discuss them with the customer so that he can enjoy his vehicle trouble free.

I am so amazed how awesome this place looks. It's very retro and full of nostalgia. The staff was completely friendly and very laid back. My Chrysler 200 had an issue with my radios touch screen going blank. It was not all the time however they let me know there were also other technical service builtin on my car that included the seatbelts. Something I never knew. They contacted bluebonnet dodge and set me up for a service appointment as I was still under warranty. I'm shocked that there are still family owned buisness that will go out of the way to help you. This is where I get my oil changes now and minor maintenance on my other cars.

Still new to Texas but I already feel at home.
