Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below Volvoman [redacted] Schrieber picked up my car for repair in January, When he returned my car to me the main problem I wished him to repair was not fixed; it was the same, if not worse, than it was when he got the car It gradually worsened, and, despite repeated phone calls to his business, he only came to my residence once to look at the car Again, the problem was not repaired.Nothing changed; he refused to return my calls, texts, or emails I finally had to file complaints against his business, and I did get a couple of contacts from him then He has offered to refund money and do repairs, yet he has not brought up any manner of doing so; i.e., amount of money or type of repair Nor will he come to my home during business hours to examine my car.My contact with him has never been "erratic," I have numerous texts and emails to support my contention He has never told me how his refund policy works, rather he asked me how much money I wished to have refunded to make me a "happy camper." I consider that to be an open-ended question, so I responded with a question on how to determine a fair refund He has yet to tell me.I would leave the keys in my car to allow him to work on it should I be away from home when he came over This is an email I got from him on 7/13: ***, sounds like keys are still in ash tray so I can now make time to check what's going on with the coolant leakAt this time, the service call on the Volvo DL will be between the times of sending this e-mail through tuesday, July 14th 11:pm thank you Due to high temperatures in Jamul this mechanic will only work during the night no matter if that poses the customer a problem or not His online information states that he is open during business hours This mechanic came to my residence at, perhaps, 1:AM on July 15th to work on my car This was the email I got from him after that: Hello ***, unfortunately I have NO battery for yr carI should not be responsible for providing a battery in any caseNot having a battery in yr Volvo is a really sucky thing to do to me, as I can not start the engine to check if the coolant leak remainsAny how, the expansion tank cap was bad, held no pressure when testing, replaced with anotherI am leaving yr parking lot now @ 1:amVolvo*** This was an email I sent him on 7/13, a couple of days before he came out: No, the keys aren't in the ashtray anymore, ***, but I'll put them back in You can come out here if you want to, I can find one to put in, but that's up to you You'll have to bring a batteryHe had ample time to warn me that he did not have a battery to use on my car, which is curious as he advertised himself as "The Volvoman." That business title implies that his business is ready to repair any issue a Volvo has, including a bad battery or jump starts There has been a battery in my car since this conversation, but he has yet to return to the car's location and sent me a text today, 7/17, saying he desires a "good" battery to work with He so states that his business is unable to work on a car unless it is in good electrical/mechanical condition I believe this to be quite a paradoxThis mechanic advertises himself as a Volvo-pro, someone who knows how to repair both old and new Volvos Yet, he missed a fairly simple repair (if the problem is a head gasket, something he commanded me not to mention after I complained to him afterward) that has caused my engine continued damage [redacted] had my car for over three months, and if the only coolant problem was rust in the engine block, that was far too long a time to repair it I pre-paid this mechanic $with firm instructions not to go past that financial limit and to contact me when he reached it Not only did he never do so, the first time he mentioned cash to me was when he said he was at the $mark and asked how much more money I "wished to spend on it." His receipt is indecipherable and I have sent a copy in to the Revdex.com Again, there was never an estimate, rather only a post-repair receiptThis mechanic apparently has medical and financial issues at the moment, ones I won't mention due to privacy issues If, for whatever reason, Volvoman [redacted] was unable to complete a job, if he could not repair a vehicle for medical, financial, or personal reasons then he should have refused to accept it He did not, rather he not only returned my car to me in an unrepaired state, he was deceptive about it and has even yet been unable to repair it This is incredible inefficiency Regards, [redacted]

Hi, ***! OK, I drove up to Volvoman *** ***'s yesterday and viewed both vehicles, the intended replacement station wagon and the potential replacement car. *** still hasn't made the replacement car smoggable and seems to be having some difficulty doing so. The other car is very nice and I'd be glad to have it, but he's asking far too much for it. I planned my budget for the $1,and was prepared to give him that amount, but he seemed reluctant to take it at that time. I gave him no money. He doesn't seem to be too confident that he'll repair the wagon to make it street legal, and honestly if he can't do that I doubt that any mechanic in San Diego could. ***'s an excellent mechanic; I don't know what really happened with my vehicle up there but I'm not happy having to complain about him. He usually does good work, and I know he's been ill. But, if he wanted the $1,as either a retainer for the newer car or the entire sale price for the replacement, I was ready to give it to him. Perhaps he was feeling ill at the time. But my car, the one he worked on, really did end up in the junk yard and it's unbelievable that happened. I literally couldn't give that car away when it broke down, and I called a couple of different mechanics (including ***) and told them they could have it for free; all they had to do was tow it off. Really surprising that I had no takers and had to sell it to the scrap yard for $100.There appears to be more of a story behind what happened up there at ***'s place, but what the reality is now is that I don't believe *** told your office that the replacement car was unsmoggable and impossible to be registered due to that. I told *** that if that was the case I could ask the DMV for mediation and have an arbitrator decide if the wagon could still be operated on the streets legally. He then said that wouldn't work as the part he needs could still be purchased new from an auto part store, but that it was very costly. I then realized he has no intention on purchasing that part new.I have the utmost respect for this person as a professional mechanic, but this last part sure sounds like he defrauded both myself and your office. Please give me some advice, and thank you very much.*** ***

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: The response is totally unaccepable. This repair is covered under my warranty and should not be out of a good will jesture. This tells me that management did not investigate this situation and said they would fix the problem just to silience me for good. I will be contacting the Department of Consumer protection regarding this situation. Also, It took the company approximately four weeks to respond to my complaint?Sincerely,*** ***

It was explained to Mr*** that if we were sending the jewelry back that he would be needing to pay for the shipping and handling chargesWe do take a lot of pride in the customer service that we offer and deeply apologize for any miscommunication between myself and Mr***.Thank
you, Debra

To the Revdex.com, I have been attempting to make a service call since thursday July 9th on the Volvo DL, but the customer to reluctant to approve that which makes it difficult to address his "DESIRED SETTLEMENT" of wanting me to repair his Volvo. *IMPORTANT NOTE* the Revdex.com,

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:I stand by my original statement.? Once again I was told by Debra they ( Dodson's ) would not charge me to return my jewelry because of the run? around they gave me.? In charging me Debra probably forgot what she told me on the phone.? I'm not making this up!? The only misunderstanding is on their part.? $isn't going to make or break either one of us but rather it's simply the principal of the thing.? She said what she said & I hold them to it
Sincerely,

As per complaint  [redacted], customer and I have worked out a deal for purchasing one of my loaner cars. Customer gets a credit of $1000.00 toward the purchase of a 1998 Volvo V70.   Last time I spoke with [redacted], he was happy with the above.   This complaint can be closed.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Volvoman [redacted] Schrieber picked up my car for repair in January, 2015.  When he returned my car to me the main problem I wished him to repair was not fixed; it was the same, if not worse, than it was when he got the car.  It gradually worsened, and, despite repeated phone calls to his business, he only came to my residence once to look at the car.  Again, the problem was not repaired.Nothing changed; he refused to return my calls, texts, or emails.  I finally had to file complaints against his business, and I did get a couple of contacts from him then.  He has offered to refund money and do repairs, yet he has not brought up any manner of doing so; i.e., amount of money or type of repair.  Nor will he come to my home during business hours to examine my car.My contact with him has never been "erratic," I have numerous texts and emails to support my contention.  He has never told me how his refund policy works, rather he asked me how much money I wished to have refunded to make me a "happy camper."  I consider that to be an open-ended question, so I responded with a question on how to determine a fair refund.  He has yet to tell me.I would leave the keys in my car to allow him to work on it should I be away from home when he came over.  This is an email I got from him on 7/13:  [redacted], sounds like keys are still in ash tray so I can now make time to check what's going on with the coolant leak. At this time, the service call on the 1980 Volvo DL will be between the times of sending this e-mail through  tuesday, July 14th 11:59 pm.  thank you Due to high temperatures in Jamul this mechanic will only work during the night no matter if that poses the customer a problem or not.  His online information states that he is open during normal business hours.  This mechanic came to my residence at, perhaps, 1:00 AM on July 15th to work on my car.  This was the email I got from him after that: Hello [redacted], unfortunately I have NO battery for yr car. I should not be responsible for providing a battery in any case. Not having a battery in yr Volvo is a really sucky thing to do to me, as I can not start the engine to check if the coolant leak remains. Any how, the expansion tank cap was bad, held no pressure when testing, replaced with another. I am leaving yr parking lot now @ 1:25 am. Volvo[redacted]  This was an email I sent him on 7/13, a couple of days before he came out: No, the keys aren't in the ashtray anymore, [redacted], but I'll put them back in.  You can come out here if you want to, I can find one to put in, but that's up to you.  You'll have to bring a battery. He had ample time to warn me that he did not have a battery to use on my car, which is curious as he advertised himself as "The Volvoman."  That business title implies that his business is ready to repair any issue a Volvo has, including a bad battery or jump starts.  There has been a battery in my car since this conversation, but he has yet to return to the car's location and sent me a text today, 7/17, saying he desires a "good" battery to work with.  He so states that his business is unable to work on a car unless it is in good electrical/mechanical condition.  I believe this to be quite a paradox. This mechanic advertises himself as a Volvo-pro, someone who knows how to repair both old and new Volvos.  Yet, he missed a fairly simple repair (if the problem is a head gasket, something he commanded me not to mention after I complained to him afterward) that has caused my engine continued damage.  [redacted] had my car for over three months, and if the only coolant problem was rust in the engine block, that was far too long a time to repair it.  I pre-paid this mechanic $2000 with firm instructions not to go past that financial limit and to contact me when he reached it.  Not only did he never do so, the first time he mentioned cash to me was when he said he was at the $3600 mark and asked how much more money I "wished to spend on it."  His receipt is indecipherable and I have sent a copy in to the Revdex.com.  Again, there was never an estimate, rather only a post-repair receipt. This mechanic apparently has medical and financial issues at the moment, ones I won't mention due to privacy issues.  If, for whatever reason, Volvoman [redacted] was unable to complete a job, if he could not repair a vehicle for medical, financial, or personal reasons then he should have refused to accept it.  He did not, rather he not only returned my car to me in an unrepaired state, he was deceptive about it and has even yet been unable to repair it.  This is incredible inefficiency.

Complaint Information: Ms. [redacted] came to our service center on 14apr2015 & 01sept2015. For a open (ZE7) Warranty enhancement concerning oil consumption with her 2007 Rav-4. Toyota came out with this enhancement as a goodwill loyalty repair. As stated in question and answer section of...

the enhancement. Answer #4 states. If your vehicle has oil leaks when the test is requested, they will need to be addressed before the oil consumption test can be initiated. The cost to cover theses repairs would be the customer responsibility. If needed customer can call or stop by. We will make a copy of the enhancement guidelines for them to have.
