I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
Let me be very clearThis man is a liarPlease see the attached invoice for a change order that he billed without informing us about the work to be doneHe sent this to us on Sunday night around 9pm and demanded payment by noon the following dayPlease bear in mind that we had already paid everything he asked prior to this immediatelyHe lied to us on the phone while we were on vacation and said the work was doneIt was not doneWhat is worse is that the work he billed us for is grossly overstatedThere are no sister-joists in the basement ceiling/first floorWe hired a third party to come through and determine if any work for this $11,dollar bill was done and it was deemed by this third party that the work stated was not done. This is not the first time that Kevin B*** has heard from usWe tried to speak with him about getting our money backWe told him that the district attorney encouraged us to contact himHe refused to even given us material paid forFor example, where is my $paid for basement sink? How about my ceiling tiles? What about all the labor that was not done in the basement but not paid for? How about the fact that the cabinets were installed so unlevel that the granite guys had to shimmy them up almost an inch to install the graniteI could go on but I only have thirty minutes to generate a response At the advice of both the district attorney and the town court, we have hired a lawyer and are preparing to sue Kevin B*** and his company for breach of contract and failure to complete workWe are disgusted at the level of dishonesty and inability of this man to admit a mistakeHe underbid the projectHe then padded his bills to try and make up for his lossWe asked him about it and he tried to lie his way out of itIt is absolutely abhorrent and I will not rest until his Revdex.com rating has been significantly downgraded. In closing, I could attach every disorganized invoice this man gave us throughout the project but it would not help you to understand the *** he put us throughHe added new things, removed old things, and then even stuck in a new fee for installing cabinets in a kitchen remodel! We have reported him to the NYS attorney general as we discovered that the contract he uses are not even legal by NYS standards! Please do not hesitate to contact me directly to discuss this matterIt is very confusing but one thing is clear - Kevin B*** and his "company" are frauds and liars and do not deserve any rating with your company other than F.

response to your letter dated January 11, with a complaint ID #***our estimate/contract was for Maple flooringMany choices of maple flooring in stock were given to the customer to choose fromThe customer had chosen a NON-STOCK flooring on Sept16, and did not make us aware of their choice until our final week of work in OctoberThe lead time for her choice was 6- weeks for the product to arrive. We have been in business for years and upon receiving customer's call weeks after leaving their site, customer's call extremely rude, confrontational and one sidedWe strive to please all customers, however, being in business this long I have learned that thi& would not be possible in this instance . We were not paid for work that was not completed and recommend hiring someone else to finish this project for them. This is our only Revdex.com complaint in our entire time in business and we strive to satisfy all or our customers, however, we feel that is not a possibility in this particular instanceWe wish them well.Sincerely, Kevin R BaileyKRB Contracting, Inc585-727-

I am sorry Kevin felt I was rudeI was beyond frustrated that once again he had not given me complete and accurate information so as to make a decision. He definitely told us weeks not the 6-he claims. When I called four weeks after he left the job, he then told me 6-weeks. Based on the four weeks we had made plans for Christmas at our house with the grandchildrenThe samples he showed were Oak not Maple. Since I had not heard back from Kevin in weeks we went looking for flooring. We found inch Maple in stock in Pennsylvania that could be delivered in daysIt seems he did not check all available sourcesThe color of the finish not the name was the important factorThere were compromises on our part all along: ceiling height in one corner is too low (now we must rework a custom bookcase), wood windows that do not match the other windows in the room, and the foam installation was not applied was evenly as I would have like to have it for maximum draft prevention and r factorKevin was months late starting the jobWe had to contact him twice to see when he would start. In the first weeks he left the job site days for more than hours each day. On a fifth day he called to say he would be late and never showed upAs a reputable contractor I expected Kevin to review desired products, materials and finishes before he even started the job so as to account for lead time, instead he waited until he was ready to installKevin’s non action of not answering the phone (4-times) and not returning phone calls are not those of a professional who has a Revdex.com rating of A+If phone calls had been returned maybe a complaint would not have been filedI will not ask another contractor to fix Kevin’s workmanship issues. With the information below we can fix the workmanship issues and then call a flooring expert to install the floor and carpetManufacturer, color name / number, and gloss of trim paint (Window trim needs touch up) Manufacturer, color name / number, and gloss of ceiling paint (Ceiling needs repainted) Manufacturer, color name / number of stain used on railing / banister(Missed some spots when he was staining) Source for different brackets for the railing (Railing is too close to the wall and fingers get stuck and hurtThis is a safety issue) The half screens Kevin told me that came with the *** windows(Requirement was for full screens we currently have no screens) Manufacturer, model name / number and distributor of the strip lighting he was going to use as hidden indirect lightingA signed letter stating he will no longer work on this project and no more monies will be requested With this information and the requested letter I may be willing to close the complaint with the work done and move on

First, the only on time payment we received from this client was from the original downpayment and the first Change OrderThere was a constant "battle" to receive anyfurther paymentsThe payments were generated by their bank, which made thesepayments later than their original due dates. All changes on invoices were done by the request of the homeowners, as well as theEngineers. After getting involved with this project, our company had major concerns about theintegrity of the structureAt which time we contacted the Architect, that was hired by theclient to evaluateThe Architect then contacted an Engineer to oversee repairsTheEngineers deemed the home was structurally unsafe while the homeowners were onvacationAfter the Engineers contacted the homeowners and told them of their findings,it was communicated to the homeowners that their house was unsafe to return as it was.The Engineer was surprised that we were able to accomplish the repairs in a timelymanner that would allow them to continue living in their home.We continued to work with the Engineer upon finding even further issues and madenecessary repairs as we went alongAll repairs were documented by photograph and bythe town's Code Enforcement OfficerThe Town of West Bloomfield Code EnforcementOfficer put a Stop Work Order on all work in the basement with the exception of theLaundry Room, as they had no means of egress.Change Order #was not completed by the homeowner's choiceChange Order # wascompleted and paid forChange Order #was completed and paid forChange Order #4is work completed to date, documented with photographs and does not state "sisterjoists"It states "add joist supports with joist hangers"This Change Order has not beenpaid for and is complete. As the homeowner stated in his response letter ("what about all the labor that was notdone in the basement, but not paid for")??Again, Change Order #is work completed but not paid forWe will defend ourselves ifnecessary by any means to clear our name and to be paid for work complete.Let it be known that from the start of this project, we found more and more issues withthis structureThis home was going to be deemed uninhabitable and was about to becondemned by the Engineers as well as Code EnforcementKRB worked diligently withthe Engineers and Code Enforcement to save this structureIf it weren't for KRB's hardwork, this homeowner would not have had a home to come to home to from their vacation. We have had several challenging project over the course of the years, but we have neverseen a structure in as bad of shape as this oneThe Engineers and Code Enforcementeach stated the same and were both glad that we brought our concerns to their attention. In fact, the homeowners didn't want me to contact the Code Enforcement with myfindings. We hope this explanation letter will make for a better understanding of all events duringthis entire projectWe remain professional to very end and continue to wish thehomeowner well as this was a very stressful project for both parties.Sincerely,*** *

This is the first and ONLY notice that we have received regarding this matter. Our current email is [email protected] response to complaint # ***, upon the start of work on this project, it was quickly discovered that this home was in dire need of an Engineer's in put to stabilizeThis
extra work was over and above any quoted work given to the customer at the start of the project. The homeowner was aware of all Engineering requirements to stabilize the homeWe sincerely wish there was a better resolve to the escalated situation I hay been doing this work for over year a and the townEngineers, Architect and myself have never seen such instability in a home.We worked very hard with the Engineers to stabilize the home so the homeowners could actually remain in their homeWe were unable to come up with a satisfactory compromise with the homeownersWe were also asked by the homeowner to do extra work as well, this leading to said extra Change Orders and costs, which were always discussed ahead of time with the home ownerThey were always aware of extra work needed. We have everything documented for all necessary material and labor costs As far as the homeowner's request for reimbursement, there currently is a completed Change Order in the amount of $11,that has not yet been paid for and we dispute the fact that we owe themThe $19,that she is speaking of is quoted work from their new contractor for continued necessary work and therefore should not be placed on us for reimbursementAll parties agreed that KRB's work is finished and any other work is to be done/paid for by others. This was the most stressful working environment we've come across in our 10+ years in business and we would like to wish the homeowners well in their continued work on their home.Sincerely,Kevin R

Our experience with this contractor was horrific from the beginningWe hired KRB to do a large renovation project including our downstairs kitchen and bathroomsNot only did the project get delayed for weeks due to the contractor failing to turn in proper paperwork to the town, but it only got worse once the work startedThe contractor continuously asked us for more money despite the draw schedule he created, changed the contracts to reflect work not delivered, and even has some of our paid-for product still in his warehouseHe also liedHe told us that he has a crew and his website has a picture of him with several workersThat crew does not existHe has one "new" contractor; this person works approximately days per weekHe repeatedly told us he was working to hire someone else, but this never happenedHe never got us paperwork when we asked for it yet he expected payment immediately for work not even completedWe finally had to end our working relationship after losing approximately $20,to this manOur project is approximately 40% complete and 92% paid for to dateIn summary, our experience was a nightmareWe had to hire a new contractor who has had to redo a large amount of work done by Kevin and his "crew" of one workerWe had to have wiring redone, heating redone, and drywall that he installed removed so that proper work could be completedThankfully our new contractor is honest and has not only been doing work the way it should be done, but is sticking to the contract as well

No, we have not taken the business to court.  We did provide evidence including photographs and bank payment information that showed KRB was lying. What else do you need from us? We are willing to provide whatever you request to make sure this company doesn't do this to someone else.**

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I am sorry Kevin felt I was rude. I was beyond frustrated that once again he had not given me complete and accurate information so as to make a decision.  He definitely told us 4 weeks not the 6-8 he claims.  When I called four weeks after he left the job, he then told me 6-8 weeks.  Based on the four weeks we had made plans for Christmas at our house with the grandchildren. The samples he showed were Oak not Maple.  Since I had not heard back from Kevin in 5 weeks we went looking for flooring.  We found 3 inch Maple in stock in Pennsylvania that could be delivered in 2 days. It seems he did not check all available sources. The color of the finish not the name was the important factor. There were compromises on our part all along: ceiling height in one corner is too low (now we must rework a custom bookcase), 2 wood windows that do not match the other windows in the room, and the foam installation was not applied was evenly as I would have like to have it for maximum draft prevention and r factor. Kevin was 2 months late starting the job. We had to contact him twice to see when he would start.  In the first 2 weeks he left the job site 4 days for more than 4 hours each day.  On a fifth day he called to say he would be late and never showed up. As a reputable contractor I expected Kevin to review desired products, materials and finishes before he even started the job so as to account for lead time, instead he waited until he was ready to install. Kevin’s non action of not answering the phone (4-5 times) and not returning phone calls are not those of a professional who has a Revdex.com rating of A+. If phone calls had been returned maybe a complaint would not have been filed. I will not ask another contractor to fix Kevin’s workmanship issues.  With the information below we can fix the workmanship issues and then call a flooring expert to install the floor and carpet. Manufacturer, color name / number, and gloss of trim paint (Window trim needs touch up) Manufacturer, color name / number, and gloss of ceiling paint (Ceiling needs repainted) Manufacturer, color name / number of stain used on railing / banister. (Missed some spots when he was staining) Source for different brackets for the railing  (Railing is too close to the wall and fingers get stuck and hurt. This is a safety issue) The half screens Kevin told me that came with the 2 [redacted] windows. (Requirement was for full screens we currently have no screens) Manufacturer, model name / number and distributor of the strip lighting he was going to use as hidden indirect lighting. A signed letter stating he will no longer work on this project and no more monies will be requested.   With this information and the requested letter I may be willing to close the complaint with the work done and move on.
