An alternate date was agreed to (May 21, 2016) and we also agreed to reduce our venue fee by $for the
error. This change was made more than 9 months in advance of the event, allowing plenty of time for plans & to arrange vendors, etc.
The customer began to make other demands ('certain conditions' as referred to in the complaint), requesting several expensive upgrades at no cost. We felt that the discount on the venue was sufficient since an alternate date was available and the wedding date was several months away. We did not feel it was necessary to agree to these additional items at no charge, so the customer decided to change venues. We made every effort to be more than fair, but the customer was not reasonable.
We have refunded $of the deposit at this time. policy is not to refund a deposit at all.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.We are not satisfied with the response until we receive the full deposit back like they claimed that they would do.  The attached document is the most recent email from K and S stating that they would return half of the deposit at the beginning of December 2015 and the other half on the 15th of December 2015.  The total deposit that was put down was $600 and thus far they have only refunded $250 of that.  Once the $350 discount was agreed upon we had made no other requests for discounts.  All we asked for was to have everything in writing and a new contract drawn up, which they could not do.  After 3 months of not being able to put together a contract we decided to move on.  We never signed a new contract therefore the original contract was voided out when they double book our day and could no longer honor their portion of the contract.  And if 9 months is plenty of time to plan for a new wedding, as they stated, then it is plenty of time for them to find a new group to fill in any vacancy we have left by changing venues.  Regards,[redacted]
