Review: We had an ice machine that was starting to fail and we searched online and found a Summit Ice Machine listed as brand new in original packaging which we bid on and won from this company. We promptly paid and the machine was delivered a couple of weeks later. That was on November 12, 2013. Three weeks ago our current ice machine finally quit. We moved the new machine from our utility room where we had stored it and hooked it up in our kitchen. There were leaks and it would not cycle. We called the number listed on a sticker on the machine for Summit and they promptly contacted a service repair provider who came and looked at it. He stated the compressor had been shoved back into the motor and the whole machine was defective. He notified Summit and they sent paperwork for replacement. I was then notified by Summit they do not sell to overstock stores so there is no way this was a new machine and they would not replace it. I then contacted Ksquared, LLC and they said it was past the 14 day window for returns and it had been tested in the store so the damage was done during shipping. I informed the man there was no damage to the outside of the ice maker, not even a scratch, since it had been wrapped in the original plastic protective covering. He said it was not their problem and there was nothing they would do. We are out the $684 paid for the machine including shipping and Summit is blaming Ksquared and Ksqared is blaming the shipping company as well as us for not hooking up the water lines, etc. as soon as we received it. This is extremely frustrating since we purchased a 'new' product only to have the manufacturer tell us there is no way it was new and the seller telling us it was tested in the store even though hoses were loose and leaking and the original wrapping was in place as well as all of the cords and water line attachments were still in a sealed bag.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the purchase price of the machine, which is $585. I do not expect to be refunded for the shipping cost of $99.
