K-town I Reviews (2)

Review: I recently purchased a used vehicle (2002 Honda Civic Si) from K-Town Motors. Prior to purchase and at time of purchase I asked the dealer if the vehicle had any defects, damage, or hazards that were not visible and/or that I need to know about prior to purchasing. I was told that aside from cosmetic damage on the interior, the car had no other problems. One day after purchase of the vehicle (By way of financing and $1000 down payment), I noticed the vehicle overheated as a result of there being a hole in the Coolant Reserve Reservoir, the cooling fan not coming on to cool the engine, the radiator was inoperable. After taking it to the local Honda dealership in my area to have the car inspected and repaired, I was informed that the reason(s) for the hole in the coolant reservoir, the cooling fans not coming on, and inoperable radiator was because the car had recently been in a front end accident and was repaired improperly, aslo resulting in a blown gasket from the engine overheating. I also old that I was lucky to have brought the car in when I had, as continuing to operate the vehicle as in would've been a direct threat to my safety because the engine could have caught fire had I continued to drive it. After paying for the diagnosis I went to back to K-Town Motors to inquire as to why I was informed of such information, and the dealer has done nothing more than dispute my claims and multiple request for repair. I have had the vehicle for less than one week and have only driven once. At this point, I seek nothing more than for the dealer (K-Town Motors) to make repairs or arrange for repairs to be made to the vehicle that they the dealer had knowledge of prior to my purchasing the vehicle. Should they decline or be unable to make repairs I simply request a full refund of my downpayment as I was purposefully sold a vehicle, by way of fraud, that was both unsafe and inoperable.Desired Settlement: I would prefer that vehicle be repaired at the dealers expense. In the event that the cannot be repaired I request a full refund of my down payment.

Review: On or about June 30, 2013 my husband traded in his 2000 Ford F150 for a 2002 Ford Focus for my daughter, [redacted]. The 2002 Ford Focus seemed to be in good working order at the time of purchase. Before we bought the vehicle, I drove it (due to my daughter was not a licensed driver at the time) to [redacted] (Because I used to work there as a [redacted] in the [redacted] department) and I know and trust the service manager ([redacted]) and head tech ([redacted]). They both looked over the vehicle and [redacted] drove it and then put the vehicle up on the life to further look at it. The 2002 Ford Focus seemed to have a fairly new transmission, new fuel filter, and new brakes (at least in the front) [redacted] did not pull the rear wheels to see if the rear brakes were new. There were no visible leaks. However the horn was missing and the Dealership in question did get that issue corrected. This inspection lasted for about 20 minutes if that. On the 30th day we had the vehicle, my daughter was out shopping in [redacted], TX (the next town over from [redacted]) and called me stating she is having car issues. The 2002 Ford Focus would not stay running. Her brother went to her location and attempted to start the vehicle, which made a loud rattling noise and would not stay running. He popped the hood of the vehicle and checked all the fluids. When he checked the oil, he said it appeared there was water in the oil. I immediately called [redacted] (The owner of K Town I) and he said he would get [redacted] (his Mechanic) to go to [redacted] and look at the vehicle. The vehicle sat there for 3 days, before anyone showed up to look at the vehicle. I then contacted my vehicle insurance company and had the vehicle towed to my house, because I couldn't get a hold of [redacted]. After several calls to [redacted], he finally stated that he wanted to make this right even if we had to split the cost. On a Saturday approx 2-3 weeks after the initial incident, again after several calls to [redacted], and K Town I; [redacted] finally sent [redacted] over to our house to look at the vehicle 1 more time and compile a list of things needed (Head Gasket) to repair the vehicle. [redacted] stated that [redacted] did want to make this right and that there was no sense at pointing fingers to blame anyone. Since [redacted] came to compile the list, there has been no contact. We have called everyday and left several messages with no avail. We have also gone by the above dealership and [redacted] is never there. Now we either want the vehicle fixed or give us our truck back. we do under stand this is a 2002 Ford Focus and it is not a brand new vehicle, however when [redacted] stated he wanted to make this right and now has yet to call us back or fix this solution.Desired Settlement: We are looking for K Town I to either fix the 2002 Ford Focus or we have no issue taking it back to them and they give us our truck back and call it even.
