I never got any money from her She paid for materials Originally, per my contract that she refused to sign, it says customer is liable for getting the grate and we need permits They are responsible to get them, pay for them, and request for me to do it We had a start date I went to start it, and it wasn’t there I waited or days when I already had the Bobcat she rented She finally got them to come out and called me asking if I was coming out, on a Friday at 2pm I told her no we would not be coming because my crew is either all gone or leaving She never got a permit from Chesterfield for this work I could have done the work and she get a permit after, but she had no intention of ever getting the permit I went to [redacted] for equipment and got her payment information over the phone I had to go get different building material I usually take down half down in cash which will help cover some labor and some materials She refused I asked for $1,for the Bobcat work I did I started digging a pipe for a drainage water system She said they were thinking about pouring concrete that Friday She ordered a truck and I told her she needed patio mix She changed my concrete order to something else We got yards and it ran a little bit short, and the concrete plant was closed at that time I told her they have a will call for Saturday to try to get on it for concrete I called Saturday and they said they were full but would add me if someone cancels I never got a call from them, so we never made it on the list Friday she gave me a check after we got done Saturday night, she had already cancelled the check Monday morning it cleared the bank I started paying other expenses for her job with the money she gave me for labor Come Tuesday, I was informed she cancelled the check, and the check bounced, so I am stuck with the $1,bill She was changing everything about the job – almost every day The only thing that didn’t change was inches of concrete Length, width, drainage pattern, what kind of drains, dirt placement – everything had changed a minimum of times I have all the emails and everything to back it up I’m thinking this is why she has a bunch of other unfinished work at her houseShe paid for all materials, but no labor at all The one check for $1,was partially for labor The job total was supposed to be $7,including $3,500-$4,for materials This was a complete nightmare before we started I am going to contact some of the other contractors to see if she tossed them around the same way I do not want to step back on that property She has some of my equipment still and I do not feel comfortable talking to her to get it back I do not owe her anything – she still owes me a lot of money I am going to file the first lien on her home I do not like doing this, but at this point I have no other option

I never got any money from her.  She paid for materials.  Originally, per my contract that she refused to sign, it says customer is liable for getting the grate and we need permits.  They are responsible to get them, pay for them, and request for me to do it.  We had a start...

date.  I went to start it, and it wasn’t there.  I waited 3 or 4 days when I already had the Bobcat she rented.  She finally got them to come out and called me asking if I was coming out, on a Friday at 2pm.  I told her no we would not be coming because my crew is either all gone or leaving.  She never got a permit from Chesterfield for this work.  I could have done the work and she get a permit after, but she had no intention of ever getting the permit.  I went to [redacted] for equipment and got her payment information over the phone.  I had to go get different building material.  I usually take down half down in cash which will help cover some labor and some materials.  She refused.  I asked for $1,000 for the Bobcat work I did.  I started digging a pipe for a drainage water system.  She said they were thinking about pouring concrete that Friday.  She ordered a truck and I told her she needed patio mix.  She changed my concrete order to something else.  We got 7 yards and it ran a little bit short, and the concrete plant was closed at that time.  I told her they have a will call for Saturday to try to get on it for concrete.  I called Saturday and they said they were full but would add me if someone cancels.  I never got a call from them, so we never made it on the list.  Friday she gave me a check after we got done.  Saturday night, she had already cancelled the check.  Monday morning it cleared the bank.  I started paying other expenses for her job with the money she gave me for labor.  Come Tuesday, I was informed she cancelled the check, and the check bounced, so I am stuck with the $1,000 bill.  She was changing everything about the job – almost every day.  The only thing that didn’t change was 5 inches of concrete.  Length, width, drainage pattern, what kind of drains, dirt placement – everything had changed a minimum of 300 times.  I have all the emails and everything to back it up.  I’m thinking this is why she has a bunch of other unfinished work at her house. She paid for all materials, but no labor at all.  The one check for $1,000 was partially for labor.  The job total was supposed to be $7,500 including $3,500-$4,500 for materials.  This was a complete nightmare before we started.  I am going to contact some of the other contractors to see if she tossed them around the same way.  I do not want to step back on that property.  She has some of my equipment still and I do not feel comfortable talking to her to get it back.  I do not owe her anything – she still owes me a lot of money.  I am going to file the first lien on her home.  I do not like doing this, but at this point I have no other option.
