K180 is a great place to work out at they are very friendly an always helpful .they help you meet your Goal what ever you are trying to do.I loved the staff they push you all the way.I will return in August .so go try them out you will love it.

They advertise for a FREE 6 week training program, but it is not free. You pay an "accountability" fee because everyone is more accountable when money is involved and told when your 6 weeks is up you will get your money back and you can take it and go or continue with them. Well about a week later after I handed over this $500 I learned I wont get that money back unless I reach my goal of 6% body fat loss. If your goal is not 6% body fat loss than its is 25 pounds. For someone who has been in business for 10 years or so they know that 25 pounds in a 6 week period is not a realistic goal. Any time someone brings up anything negative or wants to ask questions about reaching the goal or why they are not loosing fast enough, they are made to feel like they are doing wrong and not following his program. He does not allow bad reviews on his facebook page and blocks anyone that makes one, but yet has people giving him 5 star ratings from all over the US. He is shady and does not own up to his word, and as you can see from the other reviews it is always the customer that is wrong. There are new people in these classes everyday at $500 a person knowing he will not return their money.

4/2018 this company seems to be a place for scamming everyone and everywhere.
The Greenville, SC branch has got to be top dog on their list. The owner S.K is a bully when he is caught. Before then he pulls ya in with all his tragic life stories. How he is gonna get you healthy and fit. ( which he doesnt do anything with ya after the sales pitch is done) he puts ya on to his emoyees. But he pulls ya in with his adds for "FREE" challenges. Where he says then that you pay $500 towards "accountability" and motivation money- so that you stick to the "meal plan" and go to at least 3 classes a week. So. Ya think your gonna be like yeah I can do that, I then get my money back. He says he can make uou lose either 25 lbs or 6% body fat. He then takes one look at ya and decides which you are. He mentions how he wants to do the challenges to help get people healthy and the money isnt important. He just wants pur positive reviews. He loves to show off the before and after pictures on his wall. They arent current and they arent challengers. Why, because the female challengers ( who have to lose 25 lbs) dont meet their goals. I was there for a few months and friends with people still stuck there and no ones meet that female goal. When they dont they then find out they wont get their "accountability" money back. Cause thats in the contract they dont explai. To you and dont give you a copy of to read after the kool aid rush has past. Also, when you realize sooner that your gaining weight due to adding muscle instead of losing weight they try and say look at the positive, your buildi g muscle. When you say but I need to lose weight for the challenge and start to question things thats when the bully comes out. Shawn blames you. Says you arent doing something right and his plans are working for thousands of people. So its your fault.
Thats not right. I followed his "meal plan" and worked out atleast 4 classes a week I. The gym then also worked out at home.

He will play you, he will call you a liar to new groups to try and cover himself. But all he is doing is trying to get as many possible bodies in to his FREE challenge to charge them. When he charges ya the 500, he can plan on keeping atleast half. If he plays his cards just slick enough, he can trick you into not getting any of it back and then getti g you to sign up for paying him even more money.
This places isnt honest. They talk a good game in the beginning. But its all about the money for him. I mean he drives a hummer for crying out loud. He told one lady she was being emotional and he cant deal with her. But he took her money and called her a liar. Then told her she ruined his day!

Dont beleive them and tell eveyone to stay away fro. K180 fitness and even further away from shawn kemphart.

Review: Despite asking my personal training to be suspended due to an unexpectedly heavy travel schedule, they keep charging me! I've been overcharged $420 so far!!!Desired Settlement: Refund and apologize. No one said suspending would be a problem and I had really wanted to work out with my trainer once I got past June's demanding schedule. Now I'm so mad I don't want anything to do with these people. My business could still be salvaged if this is handled fairly.

Response:

[redacted] never asked for a refund for a heavy travel schedule. She signed a PT contract with payments due to come out on specific dates. She did not understand that even if she traveled, the sessions were stilled billed as agreed. Our contract states PT sessions do not expire, so even if she didn’t use them in a certain time frame because of traveling, they would still be here for her when her schedule eased up. She accused us of running a scam and yelled and screamed and belittled several staff members. She disputed the charges and they have been returned by the bank.

She did not hold to the agreement she signed with K180 and wanted to back out for no reason attached to us. I reached out to [redacted] 2 times and left voicemails with no return call.

Review: My personal training with K180 Fitness started out well, but after almost a year of working with them, I was no longer able to get in contact with my personal trainer. I attempted to contact his supervisor multiple times, and got no response from him. I then attempted to contact corporate headquarters via their website's "Contact Us" area twice with no response. I have now sent a written letter directly to their headquarters, and am filing a complaint with the Revdex.com. I am hoping that the issue can be resolved, as I did enjoy the service when it was provided.Desired Settlement: I don't expect a full refund, as I did attend many sessions. I want a refund for my remaining five sessions that I was not able to complete (due to K180's fault, not mine).

Review: I had signed up for K-180 fitness when I was going to school next to this fitness center. I was told upon sign up that I would only pay $15 a month for the two years of the term. I was also told that I would not have to pay the yearly fee to help maintain the club. I graduated on May 7th so I requested that the company cancel my membership after my June term was completed. At this time, I had only been a member of the club for 10 months. When I discussed this with the company representative I was told that I would never be charged anything else from the company. This was in fact the case until October 15th when they charged me $60 for the past months dues - even though I had cancelled - and then charged me $15 on October 28th for my normal dues. Finally on October 30th they charged me $40 dollars for what I found out to be the yearly maintenance fee when I discussed this with the owner (after leaving several messages with no return call). After speaking with him, he told me that all he could refund in this situation was the $75 dollars that they charged me since cancellation. He told me that it was not their practice to refund the maintenance fee. While I was not happy with this, I accepted the offer. I noted that on October 31st the $75 was in fact refunded but then two hours later, another $75 was taken from my account. I left another voicemail for the owner to call me back but have yet to hear back from this message. I am extremely frustrated with this business and I would like the full $115 that they have charged me since my cancellation refunded at this point as this has taken up so much of my time dealing with their error. At the least, I would like the $75 refunded and never charged any other money from this business.Desired Settlement: I am extremely frustrated with this business and I would like the full $115 that they have charged me since my cancellation refunded at this point as this has taken up so much of my time dealing with their error. Response:

The customer signed a two year agreement as she stated in complaint. She says there was special terms agreed upon. After looking at the agreement, I see no such terms spelled out or written in. She received a discounted student rate for a period of 2 years. Since she did not fit one of the 3 cancelation requirements, She was not able to cancel her contract. She ahs since been sent to collections for nonpayment. She is simply trying to back out of her signed contract.

Review: K180 charged my credit card over in the amount of $80 though my membership had expired. The company verbally promised they would not take funds from my credit card as I had discussed the membership had expired and I did not choose to renew. The $80 total is due to overcharge and charge after membership had expired.Desired Settlement: Please have K180 to provide me written proof that my memberships are not renewed and they will not take any more money from my account.

Response:

I spoke with April this morning. I explained the charges were actually one time yearly improvement fees, $40 per contract. She and her husband each at a membership contract with us.

Review: My wife took advantage of a free session with a trainer(who is an employee of K180) and after the session was over, was asked if my wife was interested in signing up for a personal trainer. My wife told the gentleman at the time (twice) that she was not sure if she could afford the program and would get back to him. The gentleman then pressured her to give her credit/debt card info and other personal information to "keep on file" just in case she wanted to change her mind (which she did, but again stated she was not interested at this time). My wife called him back the next day saying that she did not want to sign up for the program. The next day we received a call from the trainers boss and again my wife said she did not want to sign up for the program. A few days later we notice that our debit card was being charge for the trainer (in process). Numerous calls were made to the trainer/ [redacted] (the site where the training took place)/ and K180 in an effort to stop the charges, no one returned our calls. So here it is, Wednesday, and the charges have gone through. Now that the charges have gone through, we again tried to call the parties involved, only to learn that they do not have the authority to reverse the charges and in fact tried to again sell my wife the trainer program and the value of keeping it. We have now filed a dispute with the bank, while the K180 employee said he has to talk to his boss (who is in meetings all day). Only after the charges have gone through have we had any luck contacting the trainer and his boss, however, as stated above, no one has the authority to correct the issue.Desired Settlement: We feel that this is an unfair (bordering on illegal) tactic and want this charge reversed (plus any bank charges that may result because of low funds). We have not named any individuals in this complaint due to the fact that my wife still belongs to and enjoys the facilities at [redacted] and fears that she may be retaliated against.

Response:

This complaint is ludacris. We do not strong arm anyone into signing up for personal training. This is a case of a customer signing an agreement and then getting cold feet. Anyways, the client disputed the charges with bank and even after we showed a valid and signed contract, the money was still taken out of our account and refunded to customer by bank.

Review: I signed up for 24 personal training sessions at a rate of $55 per session on approximately July 28 through [redacted] at [redacted]. I started off working with[redacted] who has recently left K180 fitness. Shortly after that,** fitness bought [redacted] tried placing me with a new trainer, [redacted] was also a manager for[redacted]. I am in the military and I work rotating shift work hours (different shift each week) so my time is not my own. [redacted] was doing a poor job of finding time in his schedule for me (including having to cancel several appointments last minute) and I felt like I was being given the run-around for several weeks. After that time, he ultimately told me he would be unable to train me. I told him I was not satisfied with the experience I was having with K180 and that I wanted to cancel my contract. [redacted] called me and offered to put me on his schedule and train me. After discussing my options, I told him that I would be willing to keep my contract with K180 if I could start over for the full 24 sessions with him. At this point I had only used 6 sessions with [redacted] and 1 with [redacted]. He agreed to my request to train me for 24 full sessions. There are two[redacted] locations I have been working out at; [redacted] agreed to make an effort to train me at the one I signed up at ([redacted]) because it is closer to where I live. We had a couple sessions scheduled there, but he switched them to the other location ([redacted]) last minute. I had 2 workouts with him and he then informed me that he would only be training me for 22 total sessions, vs the 24 we had agreed upon. I have not had a chance to talk to him about him going back on his word because he also just informed me that he will be leaving [redacted] and cannot train me anymore. I emailed the owner of K180, [redacted], and the response I got from him was that he will look into my situation. I have heard nothing since. For the whole time I was with K180, I felt like I was being treated as nothing more than an afterthought.Desired Settlement: I would like to cancel my contract with K180 fitness and receive a full refund for services not yet rendered (15 sessions for a total of $825). My patience has been exhausted.

Response:

K180 Fitness, all its contracts and financials, was sold to [redacted] in August 2013 for the [redacted] MSA area. [redacted] is referencing a contract and sessions that have been bought and assumed by the new company. K180 has no authority to discuss the contract or even have the funds. [redacted] needs to discuss with current [redacted] management.

Review: I was a member of K180 in the past, but my contract expired and I did not renew my contract. Then I got a letter in the mail from a collection agency that I owed $133.20. I made several attempts to contact [redacted], owner of K180, about this since I do not owe his company any money, and no effort was made to collect any money from me before I recieved a letter in the mail from a collection agency.Desired Settlement: [redacted] needs to refund the money that was paid to the collection agency since I do not owe his business any money. I have heard of other customers having issues with their billing department also.

Response:

Complaint # [redacted] is incorrect. She had several months that here membership fees did not go thru because her credit card on file expired. We could never get a hold of her to update info. She was handed over to collections for nonpayment. She paid the collection company what was owed. Why would she pay them if she never owed the money as she stated in the complaint?
