I am very happy with the services I received from DocPrep ServicesThe owner was extremely professional and sensitive towards my situationI saved a lot of money as well by using paralegal services rather than hiring a lawyerI highly recommend Lisa at DocPrep ServicesShe made the entire divorce process less stressful for meThank you!

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I was not asking for money in my complaint - I asked that the necessary changes be made at the facility in order to ensure the safety of other pets in their care.  The [redacted]'s response is nothing more than an attack on myself and my family so that he can continue to play the victim in this tragedy.  I have the email exchanges as well, and no where did I ask for money towards a Pet Psychic, medication, or pet therapy and it is a total exaggeration and lie.  What I DID state were the unexpected expenses we were faced with when my dog died in HIS care.  After everything we have been through as a family because of this tragedy, I cannot believe he can write such inaccuracies to continue to cause more pain and anguish for us.
And an aside, The [redacted] did offer to pay for a new dog, but not out of the goodness of his cold heart - but because we approached the business for a resolution (oddly enough on the same day without knowing the other was reaching out).  My boyfriend did not threaten nor "shake down" the business [redacted] in anyway so the tape will show nothing.  All I want to know is that the fence is fixed in a permanent manner and other pets cannot get out and for other pet [redacted]s to know to look for these inadequacies when leaving their dogs.

On Monday May 7, I dropped my two dogs off at the k-9 clubhouse for boarding. I went back this morning to pick them up only to be told that one of them had gotten out and they were looking for him. Well now it's been 4 hours and I haven't seen or heard squat from my little guy. The owner just called and said that he has no idea how this can happen, I do, he wasn't being watched. I thought I was leaving my dog in a safe secure environment, while I was away for a few day's, I guess I was mistaken.

Review: On April [redacted], 2014 I dropped off two of my beloved dogs at the K9 Clubhouse to be cared for in my absence. On April [redacted], I received a call that there was an accident and one of my dogs was let off of his leash, left unsupervised and he slipped under a fence and was struck and killed by a car in their parking lot. The facility is not equipped to care for small dogs and clearly employees are not properly trained. Because dogs are considered nothing more than property in NY State, there is no recourse beyond the [redacted] having to pay out the value of a 7 year old "used" Chihuahua. The [redacted] took no responsibility and blamed both the employee, even providing me with his phone number and the Town of Babylon.Desired Settlement: The [redacted] made an immediate temporary fix to the fence, but after seeing it for myself, a small dog could still get out. I was told that the fence was dictated by town code, but I can't imagine that the current structure is up to the standards of other kennels and boarding facilities. There needs to be a more permanent solution and employees need better more comprehensive screening and training or they should not advertise that they are equipt to safely care for dogs of all sizes - this is clearly a place for larger dogs only.

Response:

The tragedy brought onto this family by the irresponsible act of an ex-employee has hurt and unraveled many lives. The carelessness of this individual took a loved and valued family member away and broke their hearts. This horrific accident could never be forgiven no matter how many apologies are given. No form of compensation would ever be enough to make up for such a loss. The aftermath of such a devastating event brought me down to my knees, wishing and praying for a way out. I myself can't imagine what this family went through knowing that I no longer had the will to even get out of bed and face another day. I had been so broken up by the loss of [redacted] that I wanted to give up the business that I created to have my clients trust and feel at peace with my services.

But by the grace of God and the supportive people around me, I came to realize that this one horrible, heart wrenching act cannot define my entire life and business. I picked myself up and remembered the thousands of clients that I made happy with the love that I gave and received from their dogs. So as much as I regret and wish that I can turn back time, I can only keep asking for forgiveness and continue to make my clients and their dogs happy. More safety and security procedures were put into place. Unfortunately, the compensation I offered to [redacted]'s family was not accepted. However to keep the memory of [redacted] alive, K9CLUBHOUSE made a Memorial Donation to the ASPCA in his name. Although [redacted]'s life came to an end way too soon, hopefully the lives of many other dogs can be helped through the ASPCA and the loving work that they do every day. Once again, my deepest condolences to [redacted]'s family and friends.

I have many emails in which I would be happy to share regarding the sorrow and the attempts to compensate the family even after the dog [redacted]s boyfriend came in and tried to shake me down for a large payday. I'm not sure how the complaint includes that a small dog can escape from my facility at this point, but that is beyond false.

As an addition to my response to the complaint # [redacted] filed against my business. Posting that my employees need better more comprehensive screening and training is a slanderous comment as [redacted] has no clue of the training, certifications or screening process that is involved in my business. She knows nothing about Town Code regarding my business. In 12 years of business we NEVER had an issue with the care of dogs small or large. This is all opinion based on emotions. [redacted] and her boyfriend tried to get a huge “payday” from me and they learned that NY State considers dogs as property. There is no pain and suffering compensation due to the loss of a pet. I was approached about reimbursing for many outlandish things, such as Pet Therapy, pet psychics, pet bereavement therapy, medications, the idea that her 7 year old dog will never get to see her 6 year old son off to college. I offered to pay them $1600.00 that they said they spent to give their other dog a companion since the dog was heartbroken and wouldn’t get excited when the sushi delivery guy came to the door. I offered to pay for the vet bill, cremation and urn costs. This is much more than they could get if they took the matter to court. I have emails to prove everything and a video of her boyfriend coming in asking for a payoff.

My business is safe and secure and if it is not fit for animals than the ASPCA and Animal Control would be coming after me.

There is nothing I could do to satisfy this woman. Her desired settlement on her complain is nonsense.
