KAAM Transmissions and Auto Repair Center Reviews (%countItem)

I took my 2007 H-3 Hummer to KAAM for transmissions issues. KAAM gave me 12,000 mile warranty or 1yr (whichever comes first).KAAm charged $2835.50. My vehicle went out around the 17 June 2017. I was on my way back to Georgia. I called a friend and he heard KAAM was the best place in Lake City Florida. It took about 3 weeks for my transmission to be build. On July 3rd 2017, I went down to pick up my truck. In November of 2017, I started having problems with transmission. I took the vehicle back to KAAM and they stated it would be ready in 2 weeks. Each time I had to pay $100 round trip for someone to take me to pick up my vehicle. After 2 weeks, I went back down to pick up my truck, they said my truck was fixed. On Dec. 16th I took my truck to Cadillac dealership in Albany. They indicated the code (PO741) indicates the Torque Convector Clutch Solenoid electrical circuit has performance failure. At that time the check engine light was on. My truck was still under mileage (146605) so I had to take my truck back down to KAAM. They worked on my vehicle again and told me it was completed. By the time I made it back to Albany, my check engine light was on. I called KAAM and they told me they would not be able to do anything until after the 3rd of January 2018. So I had to pay someone again to take me back to Florida. At this time, I did not see any reason to take my vehicle back to Florida. The transmission stopped and I had to get my vehicle towed (Albany, GA) to ***'s transmission 1058 US 19 South Leesburg, GA 31763. .
When ***'s Transmission diagnosis my vehicle it was stated that he could tell the transmission had been broken down, reassembled with old parts, used parts the wiring harness to be cut up and sliced back together.Other items had appear to have less age or use on them. The lower plate was weak and 3/4ths of the clutch were burnt due to worn valve body. The plate ball was struck and bearing servo check value was not working caused by pressure low. They charged $ 2000.

I contacted Kaam Transmission on 07/05/2017 at 8:00am about a transmission that they had rebuilt for a truck I own. the warranty was 12 months or 12 thousand miles as specified on the receipt. the date of warranty expiration was 07/12/2017 and I had less than 3000 miles on this transmission when I contacted them about the transmission failure. I spoke to a lady (Owners Wife) and at first I told her I had an issue with a transmission they built and when I told her about the warranty and time frame she told me that *** (Owner) was going into surgery that day and would not be able to look at the transmission for 4 to 5 weeks. I asked her if there was anyone else who could look at it for me because that was a substantial length of time then she told me no that *** handles warranty work. I then said what will we do about the warranty? She said "well it will not be under warranty when he looks at it and he will help out if he can but I would have to pay for it." I said I can bring the transmission to you tomorrow so its within your possession for the time frame of warranty and she still insisted that they were not going to warranty the transmission because he could not look at it within the time frame documented. She told me that *** would be able to talk in a week after the surgery. I had the transmission removed (during the removal several bolts were not installed by Kaam Transmission upon installation of the transmission when reinstalling) and brought it to a reputable builder in Biloxi Mississippi where I had the transmission tore down and inspected being that they REFUSED to honor the warranty. I had pictures of everything from the transmission sitting on the work bench to all the broken clips that were done by Kaam Transmission and all the interior parts to the transmission that were reused when paid for a rebuild. Paperwork stated that there was a shift kit and corvette servo inside the transmission, the servo was indeed installed however the trans was never drilled out as *** specified for the shift kit and stock springs were reinstalled. I spoke with *** Kaam on 07/12/2017 where I explained to him the situation that I spoke to his wife about he then reiterated that the transmission wouldn't be covered and told me that the reason that the transmission failed was because the torq converter that was used in the transmission was brought by customer and that likely caused it to fail. That same torq converter is in another vehicle at this time without any incident. I sent him multiple pictures of the failed parts and components and simply asked for any help that he would be willing to contribute due to the transmission failing on the builders behalf. He replied with the following:

kyle I looked at the pics of the trans from the pics it has a burmed 2-4 band a recessed reversed drum and a seperator plate with the checkball holes pounded out.also I assume 3-4 clutch failure. this could be caused by a lot of things,to much engine power for the build a programmer with the trans pressure turned way up,but more than likely a convertor failure that contaminated the trans and lead to the failure.as I told you before I did not supply the torque convertor the customer did.would have been very curios what the pump stator looked like, also inside the pump.eighther way I dont see how I am responsible for your trans when I did the trans for someone else. my warranty is non transferable. wish you the best ***

On the Receipt it says NO WHERE AT ALL that the warranty is non transferable nor transferable. it states clearly in 2 spots 12 month or 12,000 mile warranty. so this not only is a warranty issue but also false advertisement issue. I would be more than understanding if it had 10,000+ miles but for a failure at less than 3,000 miles that's an issue. this email was sent to me after we spoke within the warranty time frame. The truck had no tuning done to it. *** Himself installed the transmission and I presume drove it before returning the truck.
