The work on Mr**'s residence was done by *** *** ***, was also installed by the manufactures specifications and by a roofing consultants recommendationThe issue is not the roof that is causing the leaks but high humidity in the home during winter months causing a condensation build up
the attic space and ice dams is createdThis was explained to Mr** by letter on January 25, that proper maintenance to the roof are recommended to avoid such occurrencesDue to the type of roof structure system that is currently there we are not responsible forThe roof system is functioning the way it is suppose to by diverting and shedding rain waterWe are confident we provide Mr** with the proper roof system for his residence

The roofing system provide is to shed water from the roofAClark has done their diligence in this matter to providing a roofing system as per the contractThere has been no issues with the roof with all the rain we have had in the past monthsThat being said the roofing system is workingWe did not build or design the house and we are not engineersWe are however a slope roofing company and the products and installation we provided is to code and specs standards

Customer’s roof was done in accordance with Alberta Building code, manufacturer’s specifications, and best roofing practices.  We did a very thorough and documented check of the work (Attached File “reno [redacted]…….”).  There have been no leaks and as anyone can see from the pictures there...

are no gaps in the shingles and the roof looks amazing.  We cannot speak to the noises the customer is hearing as we only remove shingles and put new ones on.  Roofing companies do not change anything structural on the roof or manipulate the trusses in any way.  Synthetic felt underlayment is a standard on roofing jobs these days and was at one point a premium item.  The roof has already been through one winter with no issues.  If the shingle’s life is shortened there is a limited lifetime warranty from the manufacturer that protects homeowners again product defects.  There is nothing to point to the shingle’s lifetime being shortened however.  All roofs are different and there is no way to consistently keep the attic space temperature exactly the same temperature as the outside, all the time.  Again, there were no issues over the last winter so, it is a very good indication that nothing is wrong.  We protect the roof as best we can when doing renovation work, making what is torn off water tight before we move on.  This way if the weather changes we aren’t caught with an open roof.   Customer mentions they have a problem but nothing has been found.  We have been out multiple times to try and reassure her that everything is good.  There are no specific issues in the complaint and there are no issues on site.  Sales manager has spoken to the customer on a couple of occasions after repeated attempts by service, site supers and the operation manager were not able to reassure her that there are no issues.  The last time the sales manager and customer talked she voiced that she was appreciative of his time and that she was happy with the explanations and she would not call anymore.  There are four years left to her workmanship warranty and over 40 years left on her product warranty. Regards, Mario G[redacted]Sales ManagerA. I am rejecting this response because: the roofer has to make proper recommendations to the customers based on the specifics of each house.  In this case, a bad, incompatible product was recommended by the roofer and installed, which caused major water leakages (and damages) in the house in two consecutive winters since installation.  This is still an ongoing problem that has not been addressed.   We totally reject the concept that the function of a roof is simply to stop outside water, without the considerations of proper ventilation and compatibility with the house.  [redacted]
Sincerely,

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I do wish to add that I saw and spoke to only ONE inspector at this address, and at the time he sealed a leak on the garage roof.Thank you.
Sincerely,
