My name is Dr*** ***I am the single member owner of Kaloko Dental LLCFirst and foremost, we do not discriminate for any reason, especially not for insuranceOur office policies apply equally to all of our
patientsSecondly, I do not personally handle complaints directlyI have an office manager who had the responsibility of addressing customer compliantsMost complaints are managed solely by the office managerIn managing situations that are more difficult in nature, then the manager consults with myself about how to handle the situationWe work hard to provide a good experience for our patients and go out of our way to help themWe expect patients to behave in a respectful and courteous mannerWhen a patient or in this case, the patient's legal guardian becomes hostile and threatening towards my workers, the office, and/or myself, their actions will not be tolerated and we have zero interest in "working it out" with themA person truly interested in resolving an altercation should not be threatening as it is not a productive way of coming to a resolutionLastly, I will not comment on any of the particulars in this case nor will I talk to her, as she made verbal threats to take this over my head and threatened a lawsuitOnce threat of legal action has been made, I can no longer talk to that personI have responded to her in my dismissal letterAt this point in time, they are no longer active patients of my officeIt is in the best interest of both parties to go separate ways and move on.Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:I was not hostile, nor did I threaten anyone.  I simply asked to speak to the dentist about 5 times over the period of 3 days.  When the office manager refused to let me speak to him for the 5th time, I said I was going over his head, as advised by my attorney.  I never said anything about a law suit.  That is a lie.  The office manager was very rude to me and even hung up on me.  But of course, the dentist is going to believe her over me because she is his girlfriend.  She was also protecting the dental hygienist because that is her sister.  I have lived in Kona for 30 years and this has never happened to me before.  I hope and pray that the next person who has a concern about this office doesn't have to go through what I went through.  Most professionals would aplolgize for what happened and try and make it right.  They wouldn't even let me talk to the hygienist.  How can a business or an individual improve if they are not given the chance to hear what actually happened?  I would like the dental hygienist to apologize to my son for traumatizing him.  He thinks about it everytime he brushes his teeth.
