Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: The information [redacted] was given was that they would call if the cost was over FIFTY dollars, not Had they kept that promise, we would have told them no Neither lawn mower was worth much more than that They replaced a part that did not need replacement As for being upset when I called, I left a message, they called me Terri (from the repair place) never let me speak She yelled at me that they did exactly what they were told Nothing was ever said about paying for diagnostics And yes, she admitted to [redacted] they did kink the cable And yes, after paying $and $for two mowers that were old, we could have taken the $and purchased a new one with a warranty The lawn mower that is still there is theirs We will not pay anymore They misrepresented themselves and have outright lied now, several times We no longer wish to have any contact with them It is not worth the time or the energy to go to small claims and, since nothing was done in writing (even though it was requested), it's their word against ours I would simply caution anyone wishing to do business with them to insist on a written agreement and estimate They are not to be trusted Sincerely, [redacted] ***

In response to complaint# *** *** ***Mr*** *** brought in lawn mowers for repair on May 23rd The first one a murray 21" was notstarting, with the fuel we have today with ethanol in it does plug the carbs on the small enginesI toldMr*** we had a $minimum to diagnose the
issue and in many cases fix it for thatHow ever if it ismore than that we would fix it as long as the repair was under $We would only call if over $Itold him this for both mowersI also told him that it would be a better buy to have the mower tuned upwhich would cost aprox $which would include the fuel flushHe declined that repair and only wantedus to get it startedUpon diagnosis we determined the problem to be the carb and it had a nonserviceable carbon it and the carb needed replacedWe replaced the carb and the bill came to $86.95.The other unit, a yard machine 21", he requested a recoil repair, upon diagnosis it was not the recoil butthe OPC (operator presence cable) that was in need of replacement, again our $min+ the cost of thecable $19.95= $I informed Mr *** when he picked up the first one that the second one neededthe cable and what the total would be and he said he could not pickup for a week or more as he couldnot afford to pay for the second mowerHe paid for the first mower and leftHe came back stating therewas something wrong with the recoil as it was stuckI have mechanic look at again and the only issuewas Mr *** did not realize that you needed to engage the ope bar to release the pull starterThere wasnothing wrong with the mowerWe were directed from Mr *** to do no addition repairs to themachine at time of drop off.When Mrs *** called she was extremely upset because according to her the mower was not runningwell and the air filter was completely pluggedShe was complaining that the cost of the repairs shecould buy a new mower? In addition accused us of not fixing the mower properlyI informed her thather husband did not want us to do a tune up and had informed me he could not pay for the secondmower in here so how was she going to pay for any more repairs? I can only repair what they are willingto pay for? I told him it would be better to do the tune up but he declined.I have no idea what she is talking about with a kink in the cable there was no discussion about that otherthan he needed to engage the cable to open the handle as he had un bolted the handles to put in hisvehicle and could not open them back upThat was simply operator errorIf there is a kinked cable itwould have occurred when he folded down the mower, but when he brought it back it was fine?The mower that is here if I took off the $cable installed I would still have to charge her our min$the only additional charge is the $for the cable and that would be a waste of her money but ifthat is what she wants I am fine with it but she would need to pay the $to get her second mower andit would be without a cable which seems silly?We did exactly what we were asked to do and not to do per Mr***Mrs *** was not part of theconversation at any time other than to call and express her unhappiness.I still have the yard machine and he or she will have to pay either the $without a cable or $withcable to pick upTheir call?Sherry J***Owner
