I am a single mother of and last October I lost my jobI started looking for new insurance optionsAn agent at NIS sold me a plan to start Nov It was a month plan I was told was like a gold level planI was told open enrollment was starting nov and that I need to get a plan before then because I had a qualifying event and after Nov the system would be flooded and all the good plans would be goneI was told that while it was a month even I could renew it at the end of the months It turns out I can't renew it, I have to re apply for it and that since I got a major illness in December issues relating to that illness will no longer be covered nor will my sons disability Also it is a non-qualifying plan so at the end of the year I will have to pay taxes on it This is something that was not explained to me
