Review: We booked a birthday party at Kangaroo Jac's and the party plan was quoted for $249.90. We put down $100 deposit and were left with a $149.90 balance which I have proff since this reservation was sent to my e-mail. Also, the party plan included invitations, food, drinks and a theme party. Let me begin by stating how they mislead us by saying that paper invitations were to be picked up on a Monday, when I arrived to pick them up the customer service representative said they were no longer providing such invitations and I had to print them online. When we arrived at the party the "theme" was not in the party room and then they stated to say that for that a $25 extra fee had to be charge (they never mentioned this before). Shortly before the party ended we were approached by a member of the staff who had a receipt of $199.00 that we owed. When my husband expressed he was only going to pay what he had on the reservation balance which was the $149.90 they threatened him to call the police if he didn't pay. He said "go ahead" call them. They finally took some of the money off but still wanted us to pay $156.00 my husband at this point said he was only supposed to pay the remaining balance of $149.90 and why was he being charge $6.00 extra. We PAID the $156.00 when he police arrived and the lady at the desk failed to provide the police with accurate information and stated that my husband refused to pay the $6.00 extra and that was "taxes". The reason she called the police was for the charges of $199.00 and not for the $6.00 extra. My daughter was freightened to see the police at ther birthday party and was an awful experience from beginning to end. My husband is Active Duty Air Force and was very surprised by their approach on this situation.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund for the party and also an apology from the Vice President of the company, when I called to explained what happened he was very rude and did not seem to care about what I had to explain. He shortly said that my husband was upset over"$6.00 dollars" I don't think a customer needs to be treated this way and the amount of money is not the issue here it's the principal. Why would we have to pay anymore than what the reservation balance reflected?

Kangaroo Jacs has received the complaint filed by [redacted] and we are happy to respond.

I personally spoke to [redacted] on April 17th. During our conversation [redacted] informed me that her attorney would be contacting our company regarding the matter.

[redacted] booked a party at Kangaroo Jac's under the company's previous ownership. The company was purchased by [redacted] after her party was booked, but before the date the party was scheduled to take place. It's clear there has been some confusion on the part of [redacted] and the change in ownership may be partly to blame. Kangaroo Jac's apologizes for any inconvenience caused to the [redacted] as a result.

[redacted] has honored the pricing customers were quoted by previous ownership in all cases. We have attempted to honor the pricing [redacted] was quoted when her party was booked. For the record, [redacted] is happy to honor the price she was provided when her party was initially booked. It's only fair that a customer be charged the price they are promised when their party is booked regardless of any changes in ownership.

Based on her complaint, [redacted] states that she was quoted a price of $249.90. She paid a $100 deposit leaving a balance of $149.90.

The price we quoted [redacted] was in fact $244 plus taxes and fees. This price was emailed to [redacted] multiple times and both our computer systems and [redacted] personally confirm having received this price by email.
