Dear *** ***:I am replying to the complaint filed by *** ***We installed a new heat pump system in for *** ***I have included a copy of the contract that clearly states the warranty on the systemIt included a l-year labor warranty, 5-year parts, and I O-year compressor
warrantyThe unit was installed on April 10th, 2007.I do not have much to add to *** ***'s complaintHis statements seem to be accurate with installation, maintenance and failure datesWe were contracted to install a *** heat pump system*** is one of the largest air conditioning manufacturers in the world with a great reputation for standing behind its equipmentThe compressor has failed on a specific model of equipment that *** has decided to provide a "repair/replacement program"There is no recall on this unitJames AWheat & Sons has performed its job, the warranty labor coverage is 7-years expiredThe parts warranty of the system is as well expiredThe compressor that has failed is under warranty, however, the cost of labor and materials to replace the compressor is not covered under that standard *** compressor warrantyWe provided the cost of that replacement to *** *** as an optionWe also provided *** *** the extremely reduced price of a new unit through Carrier's program.While I understand *** ***'s frustration, this is an unusual situation in that a failed compressor is being given an option to replace the unit with a discountWe find compressors fail under warranty every week and 99.9% of them have no kind of manufacturer provided discount or replacement optionWhile *** *** is frustrated with *** and James AWheat & Sons; I would state that because he chose James AWheat & Sons and Carrier, he has more options that are discounted than if he went with another brand and installer.In conclusion, James AWheat & Sons installed a system 8-years ago that has worked fine up until the failure of the compressor which happens to be 7-years beyond the labor warrantyJames AWheat & Sons does not build the equipment and/or warranty the equipment itselfThe manufacturer warranty is in effect and a new replacement compressor is being offered by the manufacturerWe have provided a discounted price to install that replacement compressorThe manufacturer also has provided an extremely discounted price to replace the equipment that we have provided the Owner.I would like to request that the complaint be removed from our recordThe complaint clearly states that *** *** feels *** should replace the equipment at no costThere really is no complaint from *** *** about James AWheat & Sons.Please feel free to contact me with any questions.Thank you.Sincerely, Michael WVP

 I apologize if you feel we gave you the runaround.   We are processing the paper work required for your rebate from [redacted] Maryland.   You will not lose your rebate.    We have over 600 – A reviews on [redacted], several hundred A reviews on [redacted] and [redacted].com, and a large amount of positive reviews restricted by [redacted].   We have this exceptional reputation because we provide services that meet or exceed expectations. 
I will personally make sure the rebate is processed and I personally will guarantee your rebate from the state.   If for some reason there is an issue, I will pay it directly.
