Kapito Brothers Reviews (1)

Review: On December **, 2013, I took my 2004 Chevy Impala to [redacted] Brothers to have an oil change before getting on the road to return to South Carolina. The oil change was performed. The owner, [redacted] expressed that he ONLY takes cash and failed to provide a proper receipt for service. I returned to my vehicle and then noticed I had no windshield wiper fluid. Returned inside of the business and he made a statement "maybe they just put water in in South Carolina". From there, I returned to my parents house in South Fallsburg and the car was parked all day. Around 7pm, I went to crank the car to get ready to travel back to South Carolina with my 10 year-old child. We get in the car and ride for not even 2 minutes. When I get to Kiamesha Hill, a red caution light comes on saying low oil pressure and a continuous sound from the panel. I got to the bottom of the hill and pulled into Kiamesha Lanes Bowling Alley and my car was smoking, oil all over the ground, and my engine. I attempted to call Kapitos only to be quickly directed to voicemail. I then found another number to a shop near my location and called for them to come and tow me. Upon the tow truck coming, they checked the dipstick, which was completely dry. At the shop, they put my car on the lift and the oil filter fell off with ease. Then to find out the wrong oil filter was placed on my car. My undercarriage had to be cleaned by the mechanic and I had to go to Wal Mart to buy another oil filter, Lucas and Mobile One oil. Upon returning to the shop, the mechanic informed me that my engine could have locked on me bc of the negligence and I would have either had to replace my engine or purchase a new car. Leaving at 7 pm, if I would've gotten down the road, I would have been stranded in the dark of night with a small child. I contacted Steven [redacted] on NUMEROUS occasions. First he stated he was consulting his attorney, then he stated he was "Broke and would pay me the money I paid in increments", then he tells me the company that towed me ripped me off and he's trying to make a deal with them. The initial wrong-doing came from KAPITO BROTHERS...that is where the reimbursement should come from. I have tried to contact him and take care of the situation amicably and professionally, only to have him disrespect me by hanging up in my face and not answering my phone calls nor returning them. He is making this situation much larger than it has to be and if he would right his wrong, it can be rectified. I could have easily contacted an attorney and gotten MUCH MORE than the $300 or so I paid in reparations for his establishments mistake. Mine and My son's life could have been at risk also because of this error. This situation has been dragged out and carried on for too long and NEEDS TO BE RECTIFIED EXPEDITIOUSLY!!!Desired Settlement: MY DESIRED OUTCOME IS TO HAVE [redacted] REFUND ME THE MONIES I PAID TO WAL-MART FOR THE MOBILE ONE, OIL FILTER AND LUCAS AND THE MONIES I PAID TO THE COMPANY TO TOW, CLEAN AND FIX MY VEHICLE BECAUSE OF HIS GARAGE'S NEGLIGENCE. I AM ALSO DESIRING A REFUND OF THE MONIES I PAID FOR THE FAULTY OIL CHANGE HIS ESTABLISHMENT PERFORMED ON MY 2004 IMPALA.

ONCE I RECEIVE THOSE MONIES, HE WILL NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ANY BUSINESS FROM ME NOR MY FAMILY.
