My girlfriend started this school together and attended the same daysWhen my girlfriend and I started having relationship problems at school I chose to leave campus during a break in between classes.I went to my house and notified my school that I had left for the day they instructed me to return so I did.At which point I was told I was no longer enrolled for a reason not having anything to do with attendance. My girlfriend continued to go and miss two to three more days before they told her she was out for attendanceNow I'm told that I have outstanding debt for this school when I wasn't dismissed for my attendance at all!

Review: I signed up with Kaplan in the respiratory program. I had credits from delta college and csu east bay. In my intake program they sold me on how great this program was and I even checked to see if they would accept my credits. So they did and I started the program in 10-2013. I went thru and during the 2nd quarter due to missing a test and having 20% taken off my make up test. I just missed passing the one class. Due to family and childcare issues I could not make up the class in the next term because it would be at night. AT this point I had paid up for the year, which is 3 terms because I had planned on completing it all in Jan 2014. I had paid about $2400 of my own money and they had received all of my student loans. I wanted to come back the term after that but was not happy because it was like I paid for all 3 terms but only completed 2 and to start again I owed money. The 3rd term was factored into the bill even though they kept all I paid and my students loans and I never took the 3rd term. I didn't agree with that and so I found the same program at MJC for on $5000.00 compared to 44,000.00. So when I went to try and transfer my credits I was told that Kaplans credit was not accept because they are not WASC accredited. I checked with SJVC and Heald and all their credits would be accepted because they were WACS accredited. If I would have known that I would have never wasted my time or money at Kaplan. Now I am stuck with credits that aren't valued anywhere and that was not the impression that I got from Kaplan. Then on top of that I get a letter not even a month letter from a collection agency saying I owe them $2,285.83 and that it was going to be put on my credit.Desired Settlement: I shouldn't owe Kaplan anything and I want the collection agency that they forwarded this to,to be notified that I owe nothing. I would like a refund of my cash that I paid at least, and my loans because this was hidden information regarding this school and not made known to me at the time of signing up. I would not have agreed to this at all if I would had known this. I am not able to use the credits anywhere and they are basically of no value. Only if I can find $30,000+ more to finish Kaplan

She also alleges she was given the impression that the academic credits associated with this program automatically transferrable. In response to the allegation regarding the "overcharge" of monies, the student attended two terms (20 weeks) of class in the College's Respiratory Care program. At the end of the second term, the student did not meet the academic requirement of one course. Per our Catalog, students with a final grade with at least 75%". The student was placed in "dropped" status and her changes were calculated in accordance with our stated "refund" policy, which is available in our Catalog.
