This is in response to complaint 10#[redacted]. We waited for a response back to verify Mr. [redacted] had accepted our goodwill gesture of $69.50. We never received this response. We received another letter from you stating that he was still waiting for the check. We have cut a check to him today and will forward it on to the only address we have on file in Wisconsin.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

In their response to you and our complaint, Kar Kees indicated they would issue us a reimbursement check of $69.50 . We responded to you stating we would accept the check and when we recieve it would consider the case closed. It has already been over a month since our last correspondence regarding this issue and we still have not received the check. I hope they will follow through on their word, issue the check so we can close this case. 

We will contact you as soon as we receive the check so the complaint against them can be considered resolved.

This is in response to complaint IDII[redacted]. We are a small Used Car Dealership. We are not set up to do out of state licensing. We charged Mr. [redacted] $13.00 to get him a title only and a 90 day drive out plate so he could register his vehicle as...

he wished in WI. Our title service told us that we would not have been able to get them a WI title.

We charge a documentary fee of $199.95 which covers the paperwork and the processing of the deal. We also only charged them 5% tax for WI. We completed our sales deal as agreed. Mr. [redacted] would have been responsible for title fees and taxes in WI had he purchased a car there.

We feel we have completed this deal as agreed.  But as a goodwill gesture only, we will issue Mr. [redacted] a check for

$69.50.

Review: We are writing to register a complaint against Kar Kees Used Car Inc., [redacted]- Ph. ###-###-####) and their unethical business practices. I now believe they will tell you what needs to be said to make a sale. We were falsely led to believe one thing and lied to only to find out they did not follow through with the deal. Apparently it's all about profit and certainly not the customer.

We are Wisconsin residents that are "wintering• I[redacted], AZ. We had a 1997 Kla Sportage (Wis. Title• registration-plates) that we were looking to trade In nd found an ad that Kar Kees had on [redacted]. It was for a 2006 Kla Sportage. We went to their used car dealership and tried it out. We made a deal for the trade letting them know we needed to have it titled in Wisconsin. They then asked If we were AZ residents and informed them we are not just wintering here, going back in the spring. They also took a copy of ([redacted]'s) driver's license which is WI. They said legally they had to put on a p per "temp AZ plates" across cur WI plate. We told them we didn't think we needed it since In WI they automatically switch the plates from the "sold/traded" vehicle to the new one and the plates are good until they expire there. They said they still need to put on a temp plate to be legal while driving here in AZ so they put it over the WI plate. They did the paperwork and asked me to sign 3 or 4 forms and we wrote them a check for the vehicle, registration, tax and I also see a $199.95 documentary fee, (which 1 don't know what that covers!). Imentioned at least a half-dozen times during cur conversation that this needs to be titled in WI. They acknowledged our request. [redacted], their business manager, gave the paperwork to the office girl and Ireiterated to her that it needs to be registered in WI. [redacted] and her walked out of the office we were sitting

In and talked outside our "hearing" space. Shortly [redacted] came back in the office where we were sitting and gave us a copy of the paperwork and keys and let us know they would take care of filing the paperwork. We trusted everything would be done correctly.

Last week someone called from Kar Kees stating they received the title and wondered where we wanted the title mailed to ... are we still in AZ or to our WI address? I said send It to the AZ address since we are still here. We received the title over the weekend and it was an Arizona title not Wisconsin! We called Kar Kees and informed [redacted] and an office girl they made a mistake and they need to correct it. They said, "no, we can't title It in WI. All you need to do is send the AZ title to WI and it would be changed, tax and all." I then called Wisconsin [redacted] They told rne it could be done but it would cost $69.50 to change the title and they should have either sent the paperwork directly to them or given to us to send. I called Kar Kees back to let them know what I found out from WI DOT. I added:

• we told you at the start we needed the vehicle titled In WI at least a half-dozen times;

• if you weren't going to title It in WI you should have told us up front when we bought it;

•we traded in a WI vehicle

•you have a copy of my WI driver's license

•you have our address of residence in WI

•(given the above facts) why would Iwant an AZ title, and pay the fees only to turn around and file again with WI and pay an additional $69.50.

•you should have either sent the completed paperwork to WI or gave to us to send If you weren't going to follow through with your part of the sales deal.

They refuse to do anything using the excuse they talked to their "title" person who said they couldn't do that (which Is false I). I then checked with AZ DOT as well as other used car dealers to confirm how out of state sales should be handled. All Informed me they should have followed through and sent the paperwork directly to

WI for us or gave It to us to mail off. They agreed we should have been told "up front" If they were not going to

follow through with one commenting "you were stiffed". Now we've paid title fees In AZ, taxes and $199.95 documentary fees only to find it will cost an additional $69.50 to do what Kar Kees should have done initially. To me that is no way to run a business!Desired Settlement: I believe the very least Kar Kees should do to rectify this situation is acknowledge their failure and reimburse us the $69.50 that we now have to pay to straighten out what they initially messed up and failed to be upfront and honest about.

I love this dealership! They helped me every step of the way, answered all my questions, and helped me get into a great car they didn't try to work me over like other car dealerships..ask for Ben he's great
