Kareem Auto Sales Reviews (14)

Hello Mr [redacted] We try our best to ensure the satisfaction of our customer’s before and after the saleWe definitely do not like hearing about unhappy customersIt’s unfortunate that you feel this way I would like to share our side of this transaction and reply to all of your concerns step by stepPerhaps after you read our viewpoint you will come to the conclusion that we did everything possible to give you a positive experienceThe car was sold for $18,+ tax/licWe were asking $18,700, but discounted ($697.09) the vehicle in order to facilitate the saleAs a service to our customer we provide free [redacted] ’s for all of our vehiclesWe are not required to disclose history, however as a good faith gesture to our customer we try to be as transparent as possibleWe still have a copy of the [redacted] that we gave youIt clearly indicates a 1-owner vehicle and No accident/damage reportedI do not think that you are aware of how [redacted] worksThe DMV has not been reporting an accident since otherwise the [redacted] would not be clear [redacted] searches and purchase information from all types of sourcesSometimes accidents, transfers, services don’t show up immediatelyI think you are better off filing a complaint with [redacted] Attached is a copy of the [redacted] printed at that timeI think most people would find it hard to believe that you were not given the opportunity to fully inspect the vehicle you were purchasingFor instance, after your test drive, I assume that you did not park it back in such a tight place out of fear of colliding with another vehicleAfter your test drive you didn’t walk around the vehicle? Pop the hood? Warranties do not cover diagnostic costs up-frontYou have to pay for a diagnostic to determine what the issue is and if your warranty will cover itYou purchased a day power train warranty backed by [redacted] for $Warranty Solutions is the best Used Auto Service Contract provider availableFrom what I understand of your statement you did not want to pay the $that it would take to diagnose an issue that would have been covered by your service contract and in consequence the water pump failed after the service contract expiredThat was a bad decision on your endIf you had paid for the diagnostic, the service contract could have refunded you the cost of the diagnostic as well as the entire serviceWe are not at fault for thatFurthermore, you purchased a vehicle with 68k miles, a water pump service would have been in your near future anywaysFurthermore, water pump replacements do not cost $Here is a link to repair pal, the very first site that popped up in my goodle search of lexus IS water pump serviceThey state the average costs for this service is between $- $I’m sorry if you over-paid that much for a water pump replacement Here is the link: [redacted] We do not do detail’s after the salePeriodThe only thing we might do after the sales is have the dust washed offThe Detail shop that we use is professional and services all the Dealer’s in our areaI agree with your last statement “the car has been fun and reliable”.Take Care

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me

I am rejecting this response because: I called [redacted] on 5/3/as per his request He asked a question regarding the amount of money for our resolution I told him it was as requested initially $ I also told him we were just notified by bay area fast trac that our traded in runner had been in violation while crossing the bay bridge The total was $for that violation He said our Bill of Sale was proof that we did not own the car on that date and not to worry about it [redacted] said he would present the owners of the dealership with the amount I stated and would see what they say He said he would get back to me

1)The tires that were on the vehicle are rated on the Load index which means they can support lbs of weight per tireThose tires will support a combined weight of lbs.The vehicle you purchased has a GVWR of only THE GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT RATE (GVWR), OR GROSS VEHICLE MASS (GVM) IS THE MAXIMUM OPERATING WEIGHT/MASS OF A VEHICLES AS SPECIFIED BY THE MANUFACTURER INCLUDING THE VEHICLE'S CHASSIS, BODY, ENGINE, ENGINE FLUIDS, FUEL, ACCESSORIES, DRIVER, PASSENGERS AND CARGO BUT EXCLUDING THAT OF ANY TRAILERS2)The stock tire size on this model is a 245/70R17EIf you are upset about the tires not being up to "spec" why did you purchase 35"s? Why did that shop sell you those tires? These are not factory recommended tiresAs a matter of fact, the installation of 35"s will often void manufacturer warranties / extended service contracts because of their over size 3)You replaced batteries and alternator? I am not sure who "advised" you on that, usually an alternator will drain a batteryYou replace the alternator and should be able recharge the batteriesRegardless, it's been a year and you bought a used vehicle.4) I don't expect an apology from you however if you have any sense of decency I would expect you to remove these and inaccurate reviews

I am puzzled by the inconsistencies of your opening statementsYou said you live "hours away" and started having "major driving and mechanical issues" within "an hour" That means less than minutesAccording to this complaint you called our dealership and we instructed you to immediately return so that we could try to assist you if there was a problemYou stated that the "car was dangerous" and you couldn't "afford to have it towed back"Somehow you proceeded to take it to your mechanic? You decided to either drive for an additional hours or had it towed for that distance instead of bringing it back to Kareem Auto Sales which was a distance covered in less than minutesThis just doesn't add up.When you originally saw the vehicle you complained of a crack in the dashboard We have sent you a check for $to cover the costs of replacing or refurbishing that pieceThe vehicle was sold as-is, that means once you leave the dealership with the vehicle in your possession you are the sole owner and responsible for any future services, repairs, or accidentsWe sell used carsThe vehicle you purchased is years old with 125k milesIt is reasonable to assume that repairs may be needed at anytimeAll of our customers are offered the opportunity to purchase a service contract

I am rejecting this response because:-"we would have the repair made at a shop that we regularly do businesswith, at OUR EXPENSE." Disagree-That is a straight lie, they never offered for any kinds of repairs at their expense, they offered to "get ME a good price on repairs at their contracted shop" never was it offered to pay for therepairs otherwise it would have been resolved alreadyAnd "main transmission seal, and shift shaft collar replacement is hardly just "an oil leak"-"This vehicle (my trade in) needed extensive mechanical and body work inorder for it to meet our standards for resale." Disagrneeded new seats due to tears in the leather, and had fading paint (i have old before pictures so you can see the before condition),thats hardly extensive mechanical work the motor and transmission and entire drivetrain are in perfectly sound condition.-"Mr [redacted] declared that he had extensive knowledge of these vehicles" Disagree- "I said I had owned one before, that hardly qualifies asextensive knowledge" I am not a factory trained [redacted] Technician.-“,took our trade infor 1000$ below value” Disagree - As a matter of fact, based on KBB (since that seems like what youare using) your vehicle was in fair - poor condition (once again, trade-ins are appraised on conditions, not retail units), the $6000that we paid for your (years old!) 151k mile! vehicle was above it’s market value-Disagree "my vehicle had 94k miles, here it is [redacted] soyou should make sure your talking about the right vehicle when references are cited by being accurate(It even says the mileage on the sales paperwork as well)Appraised trade in value was 7500$ but minus 1000$ for a paint job and minus 500$ for seats equaling 6000$ which as you can see what they are selling it forWhich is more than the amount the vehicle we purchased from them.- "No one advised you to wait days", Disagree- this is a lie because the associate did advise this to us in a semi serious tone with a direct statement when questioned about the warranty-"Franchise Dealerships make much of their profit in the service sectionconvincing uninformed consumers that their vehicles are “dangerous”in need of “massive overhaul”."Disagree- [redacted] of Fairfield has an extensive track record of excellentbusiness practices, as in they have performed many repairs at ZEROcost to their customers along the lines of "massive overhaul" sothat is improper to state that [redacted] of Fairfield as well as ALL dealerships have unethical businesspracticesWhen I have a first hand account of great servicecomplete with paperwork that they have repaired on one of our vehiclesat ZERO cost

SummaryMr [redacted] was sold a [redacted] WRX on 8/12/The vehicle drove “fine“, as attested by Mr [redacted] during the test driveMr [redacted] declared that he had extensive knowledge of these vehicles and determined that this vehicle in particular was functioning excellently A few weeks after the sale Mr [redacted] told our manager that he inspected the vehicle at a service shopAccording to Mr***, his main concern was an alleged oil leak This vehicle was sold as-isFor the sake of demonstrating our excellent customer service policies our manager told Mr [redacted] that we would have the repair made at a shop that we regularly do business with, at our expenseWe also offered the alternative option to forgive Mr [redacted] his deferred payment of $so that he can take have the repair completed at a shop of his choosingMr [redacted] refused.Detailed Response:“all their used cars to include this [redacted] WRXare run through their contracted mechanics and inspected to have no major problemsleaks, etc..Agreed - We do inspections on all of our vehiclesAs per your claim, a leak was discovered “27” days AFTER the sale“We traded in our perfectly goodAcura RSX type-S”Disagree - This vehicle needed extensive mechanical and body work in order for it to meet our standards for resale.“The dealer sold usthe car for 1500$ above value due to its appraised "excellent" condition”Disagree - Not only do we disagree, this sentence is deliberately misleadingHow does one determine market value on a popular year old vehicle? KBB? NADA? EDMUNDS.COM? This is an example of how KBB works cited by www.howstuffworks.comPage "It isn't very difficult for Kelley to find the MSRP and dealer invoice prices for new cars.""Kelley Blue Book doesn't provide a similar value for used cars, because there is no practical way to track used car sales.""Are the Kelley values rock-solid? They are a good starting point and a good way to make sure that you aren't ripped off, but many variables can affect a car's valueIf you have the only light blue [redacted] for sale in the state, and someone really wants that specific car and color, you can probably get a better price than the Blue Book valueIf a large number of similar vehicles are put up for sale in your area at the same time, prices will generally be lower than Blue BookAlthough these variables are countless, they all follow the law of supply and demand -- the more people want something, and the fewer there are to buy, the more they'll be willing to pay for it." Dealers sell cars in frontline ready condition, there is no difference between excellent or good in KBB retail lending valueYou bought a sporty, manual AWD [redacted] A highly sought after unitWhen you came in you acknowledged that you found us online and determined that we had the “best deal available”You were not a local customerYou traveled all they way from they BAY AREA to purchase a vehicle from usLogically, one would have to wonder if we were in fact so far over market value, Why did you buy the vehicle? My conclusion is that you found are vehicle to be priced best in the market“,took our trade infor 1000$ below value”Disagree - As a matter of fact, based on KBB (since that seems like what you are using) your vehicle was in fair - poor condition (once again, trade-ins are appraised on conditions, not retail units), the $that we paid for your (years old!) 151k mile! vehicle was above it’s market value“strangely advised us not to file any claims under days”Disagree - No one advised you to wait days, the warranty that you purchase is active from the purchase dateAs a courtesy and sign of our commitment to superior customer service our customers are given business cards and told to call if they have any problems or questions within 24hrs of purchase.“ [redacted] Dealer Fairfield do an inspection, and they found a mass of problems”Franchise Dealerships make much of their profit in the service section convincing uninformed consumers that their vehicles are “dangerous” in need of “massive overhaul”

We by stand our previous responseAfter reviewing the facts we consider this matter closed

I am rejecting this response because: First and foremost, yes, I bought a USED vehicle which was already past its manufacturers warranty of 3yr/36k basic and year/100k powertrain when I purchased it from youIn addition, the truck was lifted PRIOR to me purchasing it from you which voided the warranty well before I sized the tires from 33" to 35"What I do with my truck and my tires once in my possession is my business and my business aloneYes, because I had to purchase new tires I went to a 35" instead of the 33's you put onThat's my right to make that decision on a truck that I own that no longer has a warranty to voidNow, what YOU do prior to selling the truck and tires to me is a whole different story and the story you have told in your shady dealings is pretty dishonest and speaks for itselfNobody is saying anything about the weight that the tires can hold, yes they are rated to handle the WEIGHT of my truckThe tires that YOU put on are only to be filled to PSIA Dodge Ram 2500's door jam sticker clearly indicates the tires must be filled to PSI cold in the front and PSI cold in the backAnything inflated lower than that will send an error triggering the TMPS alertYOU or the tire shop YOU hired put on tires with a maximum PSI of then YOU or the tire shop YOU hired then overfilled those tires to and PSIYou did so in an effort to keep the monitoring system from sending a notice to the vehicle Need I point out that overinflating tires past their maximum pressure will change how the vehicle handles, rides, steers and brakesUnder no circumstances should tires be overinflatedThat will put the driver (ME) at risk of a blowout and will diminish the ability for me to control the truckHow funny that after all of that you expect ME to give YOU an apology and remove my ACCURATE reviews? If anyone is owed an apology, sir, it's MEAnd how strange that I should have to file a complaint with the Revdex.com to even get a response out of you? Strange indeedYou think that you can go online to peoples complaints and reviews and bully and undermine them into submission or just going away (I've ready all of the other complaints and reviews you have responded to), don't count on it with me

After market wheels/tires do not automatically void the service contractThe service contract you purchased allows a limited size above the factory set which was the case with the wheels that were on that vehicle at the time of saleYou proceeded to install wheels/tires that crossed your service contracts threshold and is the lesser of two reasons they caused them to decline youThe main reason was that you lifted vehicleEven though you were completely at fault, the service contract company was kind enough to refund the warranty in fullThis is your vehicle which you bought last yearWe will not pay for any repairs
