K.A.S.A. Roofing & Construction Reviews (%countItem)

Mr. Alderete quoted a price to re-parge the rock wall around my front yard, and to remove 2 large tree stumps from the front yard. His price was very reasonable. He and his crew arrived when promised, and did a beautiful job! I am very impressed with their work. My rock wall looks brand new, and both tree stumps were removed without any problems and hauled away. They did a great job cleaning the area after they were finished, and you wouldn't know they had been there. I have already recommended Mr. Alderete to several co-workers. I am happy with their work and plan to contact him for my next project.

Holes and cracks in rock wall repair not completed as promised.
2/23/18: *** (referred to as Owner) of KASA Contractors stopped by to discuss the repair of our rock walls. The quote included power washing all the walls, pulling back the yard rock, clean up and moving two gates panels. 2/26/18: 2 workers showed up Monday morning to start the job. They power washed one low wall on the east side and pulled back the yard rock there but did not do that to the rest of the rock walls. The red colored rock on the south wall is now covered with cement residue and looks grey instead of red. After the 2 workers left on Monday, we found empty beer cans behind the shed and in the garbage can. 2/27/18: The crew came to work on the walls and to install the gate posts and gates. Per Owner, the gates were to remain closed for one week. (They used the wall cement to set the posts instead of post cement.) He stated that someone would come the next day and fill the holes where the old posts were with cement. That was never completed. 2/28/18: The crew was back to finish up the walls. One of the workers opened up the gate and caused the gate to become uneven. Owner instructed the workers to dig out the posts and reset them. The foreman told us that per Owner, we were supposed to walk around with him and inspect the work. We pointed out the numerous holes in the walls that had not been filled completed with the cement mixture and that the cap of the wall had not been done. The foremen instructed one of the workers to do the cap on 1 wall. He said the sand would fill in the holes when we watered down the walls during cure period. This being our 1st time with rock walls we gave him the benefit of the doubt on the holes but we were both skeptical of what he said. When I asked the foremen why he did not power wash all the walls he said he couldn't because the other guy had already put cement on the wall which was not true and I told him so. He said the large crack on the wall was filled correctly but we have no way of knowing that for sure. There seemed to be a difference in opinion between the foreman and another worker on how long and how often the walls should be wet down for curing. Owner told us not to listen to them and said wet down several times a day for 2 days. When Owner was on the premises, we discussed the fact that all the walls had not been power washed nor the rock pulled back like he said would be done. He said that it wasn't really necessary if there wasn't loose cement/rock but didn't give an answer as to why he told us one thing to get our business and did another. He never did comment on the cement residue on the red rocks. 3/2/18: After wetting down the walls we noticed that there were a lot of holes that needed to be repaired since what the foreman had stated about the sand/cement weren't true. Sent Owner text message to stop by and look at the cap on the back wall that had not been done in places. I went along the walls and put blue painters tape at all the places that needed to be repaired. When he stopped by with the foreman, he told him to repair all the spots I had marked. I pointed out what we were told about the holes filling in with the watering. The foreman came back later in the afternoon but only did half the job. While the foremen and the crew were leaving the area, I stopped them and asked him when he was going to come back and finish the wall. He said he did and I said no you didn't and pointed out to him all the blue tape left on the wall. He said he'd be back on 3/5/18 to finish as the other workers were already mad at him. I sent Owner a text message with the information and asking him about me wetting down the few areas the foreman did and he replied back to wait until Monday. To date (3/28/18) someone has stopped by twice but job still not completed. The owner has received numerous calls and text messages on finishing the job but always has an excuse.

Desired Outcome

For KASA Roofing and Construction to complete the work they promised by filling the holes and repairing the cracks on all our walls.

K.A.S.A. Roofing & Construction Response • Apr 26, 2018

The Jobe was done, they must of washed it off during curing time. We did the details She pointed out then she rewalked the property and she said everything was Ok,next day she calls and said she found out more detail after she walk it the day before so that's when I realized she was washing the wall instead of curing it.
We installed the gates, my guys opened the gate accidentally, we fix the gates, theres no need to point it out.

I can go back next week to retouch all the details again.
By the way we did pressured washed all the walls.
if you have any questions call me.

Customer Response • Apr 27, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The cement/sand was not washed off during the curing time. The wall was wet down with the exact nozzle Mr. gave us and showed how to do it. Not sure how he can realize the walls were being washed when he's never been back to look at them. These are the holes originally pointed out to his worker in which the worker said would fill in when the wall was wet down during the cure period. And no, the walls were not all pressure washed, as told to Mr *** in person in which his response was that they only pressure wash the walls that needed it which is not what he told us up front. They did not complete repairing the holes pointed out in the first review nor what I showed them after the fact. The worker only did half the job when he returned the first time on Friday afternoon which was pointed out to the worker before he left that day as explained in my initial complaint. Yes, I want him to come back and finish the job. The pictures I have show they didn't finish the job as well as the text messages. As for the gates yes they came back and repaired them but the one post could be pulled right from the ground after it cured for a week. We repaired this with post cement and not the cement/sand mixture they used on the walls. Attached are several pictures of the holes. The picture DSCNXXXX (X) is one of the areas
the worker missed when he returned that Friday afternoon. This was one of the areas Mr. told his employee to fix so he seen this area. Mr. has not been back to inspect the walls after his workers came back out to supposedly repair them.
