Kascade Plumbing

Review: Contacted Kascade Plumbing in March/April of 2013 because my sump pump hose was leaking close to the house causing my sump pump system inside to over work itself as the water kept cycling back in and then out continuously. During my initial contact with a lady named Vera (spelling?), receptionist at Kascade Plumbing, she stated that she will schedule to have a worker come and look at leak but it would not be until Monday. Monday came and went with no call and no worker stopping by. On Wednesday of that week I contacted Kascade Plumbing to question why no one had shown up for the appointment on Monday. [redacted] (owner) stated Vera went on vacation and none of the other guys were notified of my appointment. [redacted] stated that he would get me in on Thursday or Friday unscheduled in that he would squeeze me in quick. Thursday and Friday came and went and not a word from [redacted] or anyone from Kascade Plumbing. Called [redacted] the following week and [redacted] stated another worker working close to my house will stop by and fix the sump pump. The other worker had shown up, while I was at work, and simply cut the sump pump hose off to let the water drain into a now mud puddle and caused my sump pump to over work itself.

At this point I was at my whits end with [redacted] and his staff for being negligent in completing any task that was asked of them and caused me more sump pump problems than what they were originally called for. After receiving the first bill in the mail in April of 2013 I contacted [redacted] and stated I am not going to pay for a full service call when you and your staff did not show up until the 3rd time I called and then you and your staff did not do as what was discussed to fix the sump pump. I told [redacted] I would pay 1/2 the full service bill because he and his company only performed half the job that was asked of them. [redacted] stated no and that I would be paying in full because "it cost my worker $5 to run a sawzall (spelling?) to cut the hose off and we did finally make it out there." As of today's date [redacted] left a message stating that he is willing to take me to small claims court to rectify the $75 service fee that he feels he should be paid for a job that he and his workers left unfinished.

Essentially [redacted]'s business is scamming customers by performing a lack of work (purposely causing more damage to items requiring repair) and charging a full amount for his service.Desired Settlement: Kascade Plumbing should have charged me nothing for being negligent on missing two appointments and not providing the service I requested or at the very least charge me $37.50 for only completing half the service they provided and causing more problems than what should have been. I also feel that I should get an apology for the lack of customer service and possible further damage that could have come out of this.

Please be advised that the issue with [redacted] has been satisfactorily resolved. After speaking with Ms. [redacted] I agreed that the procedure done on the "sump pump hose" was incorrect. Kascade Plumbing has now initiated a new policy with regards to the proper repair and service of "sump pump hoses". In turn, Kascade Plumbing has returned Ms. [redacted] payment back to her with a note of apology.
