I woke up this morning without powerIt was my fault, an oversight, the power was turned off for non-paymentI immediately called to pay my bill and I did so with the $fee they charge you for paying by phoneWhen I got home from work this afternoon the services had not been restoredSo, I called in to have that doneThe lady on the phone informed me that turning the power back on today would cost approximately $or, I could wait until the next business day and pay $Since I need heat and light tonight, I decided to go ahead and pay the $fee for tonight's restorationAt this point, the representative informed me that services would be restored through an automated system within the hourThe automated system could have been used to turn the power on the next business day, but as I stated, this was not an option for me (mainly because it's degrees outside) The problem I have is the discrepancy in price from one resoration option, to the other, in spite of the fact that both are done through an automated systemIn other words it doesn't cost NES anymore to turn the power on tonight then it would on the next business day, as it's all done remotelyThis is an excellent example of "gouging" a customerIt is a terribly unethical business practice and they should be exposed for such nonsense If you can figure out a way to do without this company, do itNo one should be forced to do business with a company that decidedly gouges it's very own clients for more money, when their cost is not affectedShame on Nashville Electric Service

I have replaced all light bulbs in my home with watt Mercury bulbsReplaced all my appliances with energy efficient applianceshave LED and LCD TV's that con'e use per year I wash load of clothes a weekWash one load of dishes per weekStay in my bedroom and run no extra lights every nightwatt mercury bulbOnly cook at home a couple of times a week and eat sandwiches and snacks most of the timeNo fregin way My bill could be this month when air condition unit hasn't been on for two weeks with open windows to air out my home and temperature outside is perfect not to have to run the unit past two weeksThe news media has been all over NES's *** in the past few months for running crooked bills to customersIt's time the ** stopsWe don't have any other Electric providers in this areaGovernment needs to step up and fine these crooked companiesThe people of our community need reglations to make sure this st stops now

I immediately called to pay my bill and I did so with the $2.25 fee they charge you for paying by phone. When I got home from work this afternoon the services had not been restored. So, I called in to have that done. The lady on the phone informed me that turning the power back on today would cost approximately $130 or, I could wait until the next business day and pay $36. Since I need heat and light tonight, I decided to go ahead and pay the $130 fee for tonight's restoration. At this point, the representative informed me that services would be restored through an automated system within the hour. The automated system could have been used to turn the power on the next business day, but as I stated, this was not an option for me (mainly because it's 30 degrees outside).
The problem I have is the discrepancy in price from one resoration option, to the other, in spite of the fact that both are done through an automated system. In other words it doesn't cost NES anymore to turn the power on tonight then it would on the next business day, as it's all done remotely. This is an excellent example of "gouging" a customer. It is a terribly unethical business practice and they should be exposed for such nonsense.
If you can figure out a way to do without this company, do it. No one should be forced to do business with a company that decidedly gouges it's very own clients for more money, when their cost is not affected. Shame on Nashville Electric Service.
