This is a long time customer and I hate that he has had these issues with this trailer. When I sold him the trailer in May of he had mentioned that he would haul a skid steer on the trailer. Based on the information given to me at the time from both the manufacturer and the
customer I had no reason to see why this trailer would not work for his intended use. Unfortunately in November of the trailer had some cracks in the frame where it transitions from the tongue to the main frame and was brought in for me to look at. At that time the trailer was already months past the manufacture’s year warranty period. I still contacted the manufacturer…sent them pictures and they agreed to repair the trailer at no cost to the customer. The trailer was reinforced and re-welded at several areas and appeared to be in good form when it was returned to the customer about a week or two later. Customer called again in February and stated the trailer had new cracks in the frame at a different location. The customer was very upset at the time with what he was dealing withwhich I totally understand. I explained that I was not able to handle a repair of this nature…I do not weld and I don’t have any certified welders working for me. I also would not be able to take this trailer in on trade for obvious reasons. I did state that I would get with the manufacturer again and see if there was anything that they could do but I had my doubts as this was the second time and the first repair was done at no charge even after the warranty period was over. I did what I said and called the manufacturer again…relayed what I had been told and was advised that there was nothing they could do. The trailer was out of warranty and that was it. The next day I relayed that information to the customer and unfortunately that did not go over very well. He was very upset with me and the manufacturer at this point. I continued to be in contact with the manufacturer and the next day was called and advised that the manufacturer had agreed to offer the customer a different trailer at a special price. Customer was immediately called and agreed to this deal and we are now waiting for his new trailer to be deliveredIn regards to the customer not being able to use this trailer on a daily basis. Since the customer bought this trailer the manufacturer has come out with two models…a standard and a deluxe model. The standard model is built with a lighter frame and that is what the customer originally purchased. The manufacturer now states that the standard model is not suitable for commercial construction use where equipment is hauled on a daily basis because the frame is too light for continuous daily use. They recommend going with the deluxe version with a heavier frame for this purposeJust a side note about any trailer…a trailer should never be loaded to it’s maximum payload capacity on a daily basis. When trailers are maxed out on a daily basis you start seeing issues with tires, axles, frame damage etcTo conclude a new much stronger trailer is on the way to the customer. Sometimes it just takes a little time and patience to get things worked out so everyone is happy with the outcome

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved
